  1. Ok a lot of great memes going on in here but I think this one is definitely the winner... I judge meme winners btw by how much diet coke gets flung out of my nose when I read it!
  2. OMG look underneath the wicked witch.... It's an Orange CLOUD!!!! She IS in Second Life!!!
  3. Personally I'm going to take a pass on participating in any form of gaming the system to force regions into the queue quicker. To me that sounds self defeating. Most of those homes will not be kept so in the end we are still left with an accumulation of mediocre abandons that everyone keeps tossing back in. And since we "broke into new territory" over and over again with "alt armies" the number of mediocre abandons increases thereby once again frustrating the more casual user who has neither the time nor the money to join in on gaming the system. And this is just a commentary on the Chalets themselves, I think this criticism applies also to the Stilt homes as well... TOO MANY HOMES PER REGION... Either of these themes I feel like a sardine in a can. Space them out a little more Linden Labs. How about 20 homes per region as an average rather then an obnoxious 24. Ok off of my tangent and back to my main point. I reject any thought or argument that somehow the alt armies are doing anyone a favor. It is the exact opposite. I'll keep rolling for homes with my puny assortment of strange looking alts. I will play the long patient slow game I know that patience does eventually prevail. But for now I'm giving up on Chalets altogether, may even toss the one I do have and go back to an older theme. I feel too much like a sardine in those chalets and I have other reasons too why I no longer like that theme. So to answer the original question of this thread... How many Chalets is enough? How about ZERO
  4. Amen to everything that @Bela Tolsenjust said. I support 100% of it. I've already decided for now to keep my mediocre chalet location primarily because of who is not in it. At the end of the day I get happier vibes knowing I'm not in a region with multiple copies of the same neighbor.
  5. Yes it's entirely possible that many accounts all named after the same junk food just coincidentally landed homes in the same region and decorated exactly the same way... Just a big coincidence that's all it is Nothing to see here folks... just a coincidence...
  6. The good news is "DO NOT SPRAY IN EYES" is not in the Bellisseria Covenant!!! I'm gonna go try it!!!
  7. Top 5 Homes: 1) Traditional 2) Houseboat 3) Chalet 4) Camper 5) Log Top 5 Landscapes: 1) Traditional (Particularly in the area just east of the river where Campwich is... between the Panamole Canal and the bridge in Porthole.... ALL of that is awesome sauce) 2) Log (But only the unique regions particularly the still unreleased coastal Logs as well as the logs up and down the big lake... but no to the cloned ones ewwwwww) 3) Campers (solid terraforming here and nearly all of them are in unique locations) 4) Victorians (hate the home but nobody can argue that the landscaping is near perfection) 5) Chalet (This might get a better rating once i see the non-cloned areas the moles will build, but overall i like it) Bonus (Most unfavorite Home & Landscape) *Most unfavorite home is the Victorian... No matter how hard I try I just cant get into this home theme, even though I love the landscaping to it *Most unfavorite Landscaping are the Stilt regions... I'm truly glad many people love the stilts I just am not a fan of the mostly flat islands and the palms. Also it just feels cramped here. I'll take a houseboat any day of the week over one of these. The HBs have more open water possibilities then the vast majority of the stilts.
  8. Typically that is how those work I have already encountered it a number of times where i fly through a lot... get instabanned... then check and see that my ban is only for like 3 hours. It is an exploit way of errecting banline for anyone and it should be a top tier AR
  9. That actually could be a scripted security system that records names within a certain range and adds people to a ban list as a way to skirt around the 15 second rule on a security orb. That very well could be an illegal security system setup
  10. I ARed it when i saw someone do this... and within 48 hours it was gone... So apparently LL does care
  11. It already is... And I Quote... *“Off region” decorations extending from your parcel are not allowed.
  12. If Linden Labs intended for a lot to have twice the prims they would have given it twice the prims. And the fact it was removed says to me that was an exploit.
  13. I've watched this play out myself and for a day i even had a Chalet home in a fairly decent location on one of the new regions. It did not take long for me to realize my initial neighbors were all the same 2 or 3 people in their many alts. I let the home go. It was not really something i would have kept long term anyways but I honestly felt my mood turn sour when i watched the house right next to mine get hit with an alt and then passed to 2 other GOH players like a football. It's bad enough people are doing this, but a few of them are even working in concert with each other. Yes I'm happy people want to throw their money at LL. I want it to be around for a long time to come. But I agree with Trinity on this. At some point this behavior degrades the experience of the more average user. People get disheartened and drop their Linden Home or worse they drop their premium account. Another thing to watch for as I saw this and even ARed it. One person had acquired two lots adjacent to each other. They then used one lot to "Anchor" root prims in so that the other lot would effectively have a double prim count. I ARed it and within a day or two that was removed by LL. So there may be other exploits that are in play here.
  14. OMG those notices are so triggering... My single BIGGEST pet peeve in SL is UNSOLICITED notices. Everyone gets these. This is how it works. You go to a store or the Marketplace and get a demo. After opening the bag/box a script inside that box adds your name AUTOMATICALLY to that merchant's spam list. Next thing you know you are getting 1... 2.... 3.... 12... 38.... 73 messages a day from different merchants. Then your only way out of them is to track them down and find the unsubscribe at their store, raise holy heck with the store owner until they take you off their list, or outright BLOCK the owner of the objects sending the messages out... PS: To any SL merchants reading this... If you engage in this practice... I HATE YOU
  15. Wow you did miss out on the news. It's not very new news though. Sometime last year while they were in the middle of the whole cloud uplift they previewed the theme that would come after the Stilt Homes. They are European Chalets. They even had a region up for several months with a walk through demo. 4 House types just like usual however each house type will have a regular version and an open concept version for more interior variety. Here is a link to Daniel Voyager's Blog entry about them... https://danielvoyager.wordpress.com/2020/12/05/new-chalets-linden-home-theme-unveiled/
  16. For those out their on the hunt for Log homes: I'll try to give a little intel when i can. I'm passively looking through logs while I wait for them to release Chalets anyways. Here is what I can gather at the moment. Rutabaga (an ok region): Was released yesterday and only 1 home has been claimed. However, this region has stalled and is not showing up in the Queues. Orefield (decent region with an interesting interior lake): Was released about 2 days ago and was initially hammered hard by the GOH players. However it seems that maybe some of the good water spots are still available or have been abandoned. Check out this region, if you like Logs and you like this region it may be to your taste. https://gyazo.com/040dfc45dce6503482133ca283b1ef47
  17. That is an epic spot to give up! I hope someone out there sees this and grabs hold. I recognized that spot as one of my top 10 favorite houseboat locations. I have a great Houseboat already otherwise i would try myself. But get in on this if you can.
  18. Alright, I guess I'll wade into this too. My take on it is probably not going to be what people expect though. In the past I have come into this thread to defend those who were aggressively playing the GOH with many alts. My point then (which I still hold to) is that if people want to throw massive amounts of real cash at Linden Labs to make as many premium as they want then have at it. I want SL to be around for a long time and I still do. So I always am supportive of people throwing money at the Lab. BUT Here is the thing about choosing to do that. Just because you can do it, and just because you can then canvass an entire region in 10 minutes or less and cherry pick it so quickly that the casual user hardly has a chance, does NOT mean you are also entitled to choose this behavior without people being upset over it. If you are a casual user out there playing GOH with your 1 or 2 avatars and you consistently see the exact same 2 or 3 people flooding every single new region over and over and over again that is going to be frustrating. Their frustration is freaking valid! Sadly there is not a whole lot you can do about it though other then keep trying. As a casual GOH player myself I know from experience that patience will eventually pay off with a lucky hit on a nice Linden Home plot. However, if you are one of the BIG mega GOH players who has scores of premium alts sweeping through entire regions on a daily basis clearing out all the cherry spots so quickly only to hold onto them for several days while deciding which ones to keep... Yes that is all your right to do so. You PAID for that right to do it. But here is something paying for that right did NOT buy you. It did not BUY you entitlement to the casual players feelings. The casual player may not have the resources to do what you are doing, yet they are in SL for the same reason, to enjoy it. Seeing the exact same people time and time again yank brand new cherry spots out from under their grasp nearly everyday will eventually crack even the most patient of people. Do not expect that anyone in their position will be happy with that. I know some who have given up on Bellisseria altogether because of it. I know others who have totally dropped their premium status. Is that a bit extreme? Yes. But its their valid experience. Here is my advice to both kinds of GOH players. If you are the casual type of GOH player who may only have 1 premium or can count their premium alts on one hand. Keep on trying! Maybe pay less attention to new regions and try for abandons. Every single good spot I have ever hit as a casual player came from abandons and not from newly released regions. You will eventually get lucky even if it takes months and months of trying. If you are one of the Big Mega players and have so many premium alts now that you might fail a test if you were asked to name your own alts. You will get good lots just by the nature of the advantage you rightfully purchased. But Second Life is not just a game... its a real community with people. Maybe have some level of consideration for your fellow players who can't purchase up dozens of premium alts. Maybe don't swarm entire regions with a horde of alts so fast. And if you do, if some particular region is THAT important to you maybe don't hold onto all the cherry spots for 48 hours while deciding which one is best. You already know you are not going to keep them all. Quickly release them and I'm sure it will relieve some of the stress of your fellow casual GOH players. At the end of the day we are all here to have fun in this world. But its important to have consideration for others as we have our fun. Be thankful that there are some people so passionate about SL they throw a ton of money at it to help it economically grow. But on the flip side, if you are throwing a lot of money at it be thankful for the many casual users there to populate the world you love so much that you would throw your hard earned resources at. I dare say SL could not exist on any long term basis without either group.
  19. Yes if you abandon your 512 Linden home that will free up that land. So you would have 1024 that you could buy in Mainland instead.
  20. Thank you for everything you have contributed to this wonderful world of ours Oz You will be missed!
  21. (Looks Into the future a few years from now) Patch Linden: Abnor, GREAT job on Bellisseria you finally finished it!!! Abnor Mole: Thanks Patch! Patch Linden: For your next trick I want you to update ALL of them! Abnor Mole: ... 😆
  22. Have you ever watched the 1980 musical movie "Popeye" ? If so do you remember the quaint little fictional town of Sweethaven? Presenting a Stilt Home in the vein of Sweethaven Enjoy! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Plage Marsouin/232/183/22
