Spot on point about the size of the community... We are bigger than people imagine precisely because we are so hidden behind an adult rating in a small corner of SL land hardly visible on the map unless you are really good at camming.... Although honestly I don't think i would even ask the Moles to create buildings or public furniture like park benches or anything that is any different than what they already create in the Bellisseria homes. When they built Zindra and Horizons it was a neutral piece of land that could have been given any rating and worked. The idea of adult land is less about the Moles gearing the content towards an adult land and much more about simply giving the land itself the adult rating which would empower the residents there to create the kind of community feel that could come from a fully immersive adult rated environment. Having lived in a private estate over 10 years ago that tried to do this, I already know it can happen and that it was a pleasant experience. It was not all secks. We had parties and dances and get togethers, and yes secks happened sometimes too but it was not the norm. I think most people judge the idea of Adult rated land based on tropes and caricatures of what they think its all about. Adult rated community folks get tossed into this big basket of exaggerated assumptions. A community need not be defined solely by its most extreme elements. And yet because those extreme elements exist i would defend their right to exist as well. Which i think is the point that @Coffee Pancake makes much more eloquently in her last posting.

Bottom line... Having Adult rated Linden homes benefits everyone. It benefits those who want them simply because yeah we do want them. We want to be in a community that is more inviting towards people that enjoy this sort of thing. It also benefits those who do not like adult content or think it should be hidden. Because now more and more adult content gets moved out of Bellisseria and into some Adult version of it. In a sense it does indeed hide us. Except now instead of being hidden in a very old, outdated place that will encourage more and more adult users to leave SL and bring their dollars out with them. Instead you create a place that is inviting to the adult community and now they want to give more of their dollars to SL. Discreetly hidden still yet with a feeling that their needs are also being met. This can be done very simply by taking this Newbrooke theme or whatever theme comes after it and creating a small version of it off the coast of Zindra. It is reasonable ask. The adult community rarely asks for anything we are pretty used to taking the scraps that LL throws at us. Not even asking for something equal in scope. Just something that shows that updated content is for everyone, not just the moderate rated folks.

Ironically the actual Lego ones look nicer than the Newbrooke ones

One other point to Abnor... Yes a few smaller sized homes on a region might give you more room to squeeze in more homes but that is still 30 avatar owners... Its going to make for a super laggy experience on any of those regions with 30 owners if a particular region has a lot of its residents logged on at the same time. The other benefit of limiting a region to say 20 homes is reducing the number of avatars that reside there. So there are other things to take into consideration for a region other than the number of homes you can squeeze in. With that said I'm holding onto my trad FOREVER with its 10 homes total on its region.

The only reason Chalets are no longer my least favorite theme... is Newbrooke is my new least favorite theme. I was not making a post about how great Chalets are. I was basically saying even my current least favorite theme did a much better job than these. 30 homes per region is going to be tight and leave little to no room for elevation changes, ponds, lakes, rivers, etc... its going to be one flat region after another. Sure eventually the edges will have water but we have not even had edge regions released from the last 2 themes yet so I don't expect to see edge regions released from Newbrooke for a year or more after their release.

If YOU don't want to see Adult activity then don't go to ADULT rated land its that simple... But don't go around telling everyone else what they should want

Ok so today LL revealed the "Newbrooke" theme. Lets go back to this discussion about ADULT Linden Homes for a moment. One of the arguments previously was that it is TOO HARD to go back and clone homes from already released themes cause people already have their stuff everywhere... Well.. If you are about to release a brand new theme that nobody has yet. SAVE the cloned puzzle pieces and make an Adult version of this off of Zindra. See... a NEW idea!!! I don't even like the new theme but if you made a section of "Newbrooke" an Adult rated space near Zindra it would immediately become my favorite theme.

And yet the Average Camper region which is all 512s is really no more than 25 homes

So question to the Lindens and Moles following this topic... 30 homes per region is that going to be the average for this theme???

Gonna be honest I expected a lot for a reboot of Meadowbrook. Maybe the only positive thing i have to say about it is giving people a choice between 1024 or 512. Maybe that will help to crowbar some of the folks out of the ancient Meadowbrook theme idk... Other than that this region if it is indicative of what a typical "Newbrook" region will look like is some major failsauce. They managed to squeeze in more tightly the houses than even those in the chalet and stilt areas. 30 homes in that region that is way too much. Hardly any water... no interesting topography at all. I did not like the Chalets but at least Chalets had some interesting topography. With that said and as much as I'm disappointed... Create an Adult section of these off of Zindra and I would get one just for that alone. Other than that I'm taking a pass on this theme. I may grab one just to get the content pack and then quickly abandon.

Interesting that someone contacted me during this debate for whatever reason to share with me that the main reason that the Lindens won't do this is it would cripple private region sales. I tend to agree with this statement or at least partly agree with it. Adult community has been relegated to a money maker in the private estate world of SL. Which I suppose is great if you are an SL land tycoon.... Not so great if you are a resident who has no desire to be shuddered up in some lonely private estate with squared off islands and ban lines or those hideous quartered up regions with the steep boundary terraforms you always see. Not my idea of a desirable experience. Granted there may be a few exceptions to this... (and no i don't want to be contacted to come look at your great private estate sales). So really this is the feeling I come away with from this discussion. Adult community is valued because we are an incredible source of $. Yet at the same time we are a big inconvenience because from a PR standpoint we blemish LL's reputation and desire not to be seen as a porn platform. So there it is... we are nothing more than an inconvenient necessary burden they have to carry but will continue to hide as best as they can. For me, care for a community includes some level of reach out and practical solutions for the real issues that people from that community raise. This so far has been an exercise of excuses as to why literally NOTHING will (not that it can't) be done for the Adult community or for that matter the General one either.

Let me try to make this simple by using an example of where someone might want an adult rated Linden Home... A swimming pool with secks animations built into the menu... from appearance it does not look adult and can exist outdoors. Where I would break a rule is if I were to actually use the secks animations in the outdoor pool. So yes a Moderate home limits me in that respect. And if the pool is in my backyard no Im not making a statement that i want to have secks in front of my neighbors because at teh same time i uncheck a box in my About Land that prevents people from seeing in. This box though is the hinge point of a BIG argument in SL. Does hiding the view from outside parcels constitute the phrase "Behind Closed Doors"? If it does then great Bellisseria probably works out for a good swipe of adult minded folks. But i have often heard the answer NO that is not enough it must also have walls and windowshades or a skybox etc... Now suddenly if that is the definition to the phrase "Behind Closed Doors" I can NEVER use my adult animation swimming pool in the way it was intended. So yes this DOES matter... Unless LL wants to come out once and for all and totally clarify and set in stone what the phrase "Behind Closed Doors" means

Perhaps the OP has experienced enough of the other kind of shaming that so often hits the people of adult communities its a kneejerk reaction. Even in this thread alone if you read through all the folks that dont understand people that like adult content there is this underlying dig of... Well you already have an adult continent you should be happy and satisfied and go away. Reality is there is far more Moderate land out there than adult land. Adult land does not even have a full mainland continent. Zindra is incomplete. For once I would just like to be able to voice my desire to have "NICE" linden land that is adult that does not cost some absurd amount without being made to feel like my request is somehow ridiculous or that what I call enjoyable in SL is somehow less important then what they consider to be enjoyable. Also LOL at all the strawman arguments accusing everyone in the kink community of wanting to have secks on their front lawn and force our neighbors to watch it. Or that because we want adult linden land it means we want 24/7 non-stop secks... its just as much a trope as the word "prude" and quite frankly its invalidating the experience of a very large segment of SL users.

LOL so in a reading on that I guess all those poor club owners when their customers use those famous "shot dead" gestures that are used to no end... well maybe those clubs now need to be redesignated as adult LOL Also the reading on that makes it very unclear even on simple nudity. Had I not had Lindens in the past tell me its ok to be naked in Moderate regions one might read that as all nudity is adult content.

Abnor I don't think anyone including the OP ever imagined any of this is easy or would be something that is quick. I think its just a general frustration that I imagine to some degree would exist in the General community too that their ideal living situation is not being met. It does further complicate things when some people simply use the thread as a way to shame and invalidate an entire segment of SL culture that like it or not exists and is not going anywhere and yes is a big part of SL economy. Plus I think that people from the adult community are getting rather tired of the old standard answer of "you have horizons (too expensive) and Zindra (too ugly) so you should be happy... so get back in your lane. At least as a member of the adult community of SL that is how it often feels that slowly over time LL is allowing our part of the overall SL community be more and more shown that we are somehow less important. And I kinda wonder too if the General community feels the same too cause I don't think there has been a whole lot of Love in the direction of building up that end of things either. I say this knowing and even conceding that Moderate probably constitutes the majority. But heck even a cloned Squishy Pickle of Houseboats off the coast of Zindra with an adult rating would provide close to as many Linden Homes as there are expensive Horizon homes. I dont think anyone would expect or even feel a need for the immense size and scope of Bellisseria. Just a little something to say hey we have not forgotten our Adult and General rated users even in the Linden Home experience.
