  1. I think more info is needed on your post. I have a breathing AO and static poses work just fine. If they are older ones, I sometimes need to turn my AO off, but not often.
  2. There was a sim sized sign abutting my (tiny) piece of mainland long ago. An abuse report WITH PHOTO did get it taken down. I think it took a month, but it did eventually go away. So there is hope. I have actually had ARs acted on within minutes (Realms) so there are folks reading them. Some are just more important in their eyes than others.
  3. Bitsy gave a very informed answer . One thing to think about along they way is that some trees for example will have one or more parts of trunk and sometimes more than one part of "leaves". So if you link three of them together say and find that doesn't help the linking then they are going to be a bit tricky (time consuming anyway) to unlink and link back singly. So take that into consideration. Also while this wasn't part of your question it is very important for folks to know NOT to link sculpts to mesh. The land impact can go through the roof == even so far as to send object to the lost and found (oh my!). So a caveat there. You can of course do the same linking drill with decor items inside your house. This is particularly effective as many small objects are only .5 land impact and they can easily be linked on one other and still stay as 1 li.
  4. Another update -- and I haven't reinstalled FS or anything that relates to any kind of change. Same sim etc. While I still cannot get some items to rez (usually older - this has happened over the years so nothing new) my beautifully annotated Photo Ops LANDMARKS folder returned to Agni. The OLD Aditi folder that had replaced it, was gone (I left the names the same just in case it might happen -- it has before). The NEWLY made this week Agni photo ops landmark folder (named "Landmarks 2016" is still there). When I logged in on the newly installed Linden viewer a couple of nights ago -- the only thing I did was check to see if my photo ops landmarks were "there". They were so I knew they hadn't completely disappeared like my store logo. I have no idea if viewing in the official veiwer helped anything or if they just came back "on their own". The database is indeed a mystery. I will still be testing away from SL and using my alt when physics tests are needed.
  5. Note from the link mentioned above that it might be your WEB BROWSER and not you viewer. There has been lots of chatter about updating your viewer but until I read that post I didn't know that your web browser also needed to be "current". There is a test link there for easy checking.
  6. Most of the time these days permissions do stick (that wasn't always true in the distant past ) so that is a good thing. Even after you understand how the permission system works, the very best and SURE method is to test with an alt that does not have permission to edit your objects. So send the item to the alt just like your customer would get it (box or folder) and see if they get the item as you want it to be. Also if you you set to give CONTENTS rather than a copy of a box with items in it you will have less to deal with. It does get easier but TESTING is really the best method if the item is the least bit tricky.
  7. So this morning after fiddling with my alt for awhile and nothing still working -- as in texture clothes showing up, getting off that awful pink dotted shirt which it didn't even show she was wearing etc. I decided to make a NEW alpha and see if I could get THAT to work (since no other alphas in her inventory did including library ones). I went to edit the alpha and she magically appeared looking very naked but otherwise MUCH better. So the skin that she was wearing and couldn't be seen in MY viewer anyway now showed up. I put on all her mesh body gear etc from the main grid and she now looks herself. Since this has never happened to me before I thought I would add that fix in just in case someone else has that issue.
  8. I installed the Linden viewer tonight and my old landmarks are there. My store logo however is definitely not and since it disappeared from EVERYONE'S inventory it appears to be really gone (happily I did find a replacement, just not in the Agni database). For now I will use different avatars and perhaps different viewers although I really hate the official viewer . We'll see. Thanks for the info though. There is help in the future hopefully. BTW I never clear my cache by the way unless there is something major going on. Today was the first day I cleared it in months (this from the Firestorm folks who have repeatedly told us NOT to clear cache often). My alt's account is a complete mess STILL even on the Linden viewer ONLY logging into Aditi. Even the character test doesn't work, none of the library items are there and NO (I tried well over a dozen that I use all the time on both grids including "invisible avatar") alpha layers show up when worn. The LL viewer no better at all than the FS viewer. So while she can upload mesh, it will not be a pleasant exercise. I can't even make her invisible. But we work around And it IS summer so vacations are good.
  9. You evidently clicked though the Terms of Service without reading info on copyrights, trademarks and DMCAs etc. etc. etc. And then of course the is the mandetory Mesh Upload Quiz. In case you are actually a real person new to Second Life, the answer is NO. And of course what you are aksing about is also ILLEGAL. /me walks away shaking head - LOL.
  10. Updating: Since I have done this a few times now, I feel it is "true" (at least for me) and adding the info in here for folks that already have issues. It appears that simply installing the Linden viewer and logging in to your account (no need to change any preferences, buttons or even WALK) will clear some of the issues in the FS viewer. NOT ALL. I have been going through my inventory "Spring Cleaning" a bit late. Many old items that had been deleted were there along with plenty of newer things that could disappear. When EMPTYING THE TRASH however, the older items (presumably from the beta grid as they were that pre merge area of about 4 years ago) wouldn't delete from the FS trash folder. By logging into the Linden viewer and checking the Trash -- they were gone there. When logging BACK into the FS viewer they were then gone. So that is one way to get rid of "sticky" and non-existent items. Logging into the viewer BY ITSELF doesn't get rid of older items that are not in trash however. They still appear in inventory until you delete them (or they have for me repeatedly). So part of a fix. I will of course NOT be going over the beta grid with my account. The linden viewer is too painful for me so my alt with a tiny inventory can do any mesh tests that are needed. Hopefully the new FS viewer will be out soon, but since this issue has impact on a small percentage I can see it wouldn't be ********************************************************************************************************** Original post There have been a few mentions about the new inventory system on Aditi. I have made some myself. But wanted to make a special thread as this is getting to be a pretty big issue -- at least for me. * I have had inventory that was uploaded on Aditi disappear on the next day (not a huge deal but more work if you are making something large). *Then a few days ago I found that my Agni "photo ops" landmark folder (inside the regular upper level folder) had been REPLACED by one from three or four years ago. I did a blog post on that event. So in effect I lost all my photo landmarks for the main grid. * I have a large collection of Agni items that appear in my inventory but that will not rez. * And just today I found that my store logo was missing. This was kind of a wake up call as I had no way to reproduce it (2010 other programs, other fonts etc.). I had some friends with a small version but that was it. I HAD that logo on the 6th when I sent it to a venue owner. The venue owner no longer had it, so it has completely disappeared from the database (hence also missing from my friends). Eventually I got the idea to check on Aditi and the logo WAS there and I could download it to my computer and upload again to the main grid. That doesn't help with the other items lost though. I am using the newest Firestorm but not sure that matters. I had no issues (other than several major inventory losses in past years) before the Agni - Aditi inventory change. I LIKE looking better over there and sometimes it is handy to have items from your Agni inventory there (no arguments) BUT the cost seems a bit high. So I just had my alt complete the Mesh Tutorial and SHE will be doing my testing from now on in hopes of curtailing the depletion of my inventory. Since I seldom buy anything, the redelivery terminals will not be helping with recovery. Anyway, for folks that normally work on Aditi (and I have noticed way fewer numbers of late and maybe this is why) -- be warned. Send your alt if you can. BTW I NEVER have myself on both Agni and Aditi at the same time. That has always been a rule, so that isn't part of the issue -- for me anyway. That's my report. I know the devs know there are issues. I hope they work them out eventually. I would LIKE to see my missing items return but since most all my store products are rezzed I will just keep my fingers crossed and hope not to lose much more. Cheers.
  11. I agree that TMP (the first) is a pain. There are quite a few designers making SKINS for male mesh bodies now (appliers) but honestly I have not purchased one yet as I haven't found one that I like enough. There IS more out there for Slink (as in shoes and such) but the male clothing area is not one of the top ones in SL simply because most guys shop a lot less than gals. So the market is dictating a lot there. If you have favorite mensware designers then I would think you best bet would be to get a bunch of their demos AND the demos of the mesh bodies you are considering and try them out together. You could also got some demos of appliers for the skin thing. Everyone is right and you almost always need to adjust your shape depending on the mesh body (gals and guys). So play around some more -- or wait for an epiphany male body *wink*. You can also buy hands and feet and not go around naked all that much and it pretty much solves the issue.
  12. You said that you made much of your inventory. There are some pretty major issues with going back and forth to Aditi and the "new" inventory in both places (only one way of course). I have had some major issues on Aditi and some old inventory showing up for LONG ago in my Agni account. Sorry, I read your post wrong so unless you HAVE been over on the beta grid that is not the issue. So that could be the issue too. If you clear your cache with no results you may want to contact support. Note that you will likely need to be on the Linden viewer in order for them to DO anything . Inventory DOES disappear. I have lost well over 10,000 items over the year in several major database fiascos. So that happens. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed for you. Mine was not.
  13. If you have made a certain amount of money and have not completed the IRS info then your money will likely be in holding. When this first started up a couple of years ago there were lots of folks that missed the information that they needed to confirm their identity in order to get paid. So that COULD be the issue. Check your "open tickets" in the backend of your account on the website.
  14. Well the OP made a mall and rezzed that so doubt that is the issue .
  15. The reason why you can't rez (assuming this is only on your build and not on everything in the sim as that happens now and then -- though not lately for me ) it is incorrect physics that is to blame. You need to make your own physics models for houses and house parts at least 90% of the time. You CAN rez in a mesh house made with a correct physics model. Assuming you aren't going to fix the physics you will most likely you need to rez a floor prim as suggested but don't make it transparent. For some odd reason the server doesn't always think transparent items are -- well let's say "real". Not a techie in that sense, so that my layman's explaination . You may be able to rez a prim, turn it blank and then set it to 100 transparent (NOT a transparent texture - there is a difference). I have had this work for me in the past. OR make a pretty rug and just rez your items on that. If you want to fix your model. Look up "house physics" or "can't walk in door" or something similar and you will find lots of explainations on physics models for buildings.
  16. I just tested and the LOD setting in FS at Ultra is 3. You can bump the LOD to 4 by moving the slider in the graphics settings in Preferences. THAT however isn't your real problem. It is important to note that the default LOD settings for most viewers are 2 (FS) down to 1.25 and even 1. That means that most everyone will see your build broken up and 10 meters is a VERY SHORT distance to have that happen. If you are working on a building you will likely want it viewable at about half a sim distance or 128 meters. To do this you have to import differently, not just let the uploader use the defaults. That being said it is likely that your mesh is less than optimum for building use (at least it certainily seems that way -- a screenshot of the mesh in your program is always good when asking questions). It is very likely that your fine detail is simply TOO fine and not practical for game use. I know nothing about Mesh Generator so these are just general mesh areas that you need to consider. If you don't understand how LODs work (details at a distance) then this old video might be helpful. http://blog.machinimatrix.org/optimizing-meshes/ It was made to explain how to transition from sculpts to mesh but the explaination of LODs and what you need to do to make them work well (for everyone - not just you) is very clear I think. If you do some searches on LOD settings in this forum you will likely find lots of info. So to be clear, it isn't YOUR settings === it is the mesh . If the pillars break apart at 10 meters at 3 LOD they will not be much better at 4 and expecting everyone to change their setting to 4 is unreasonable since many folks cannot. I test at 2 and try to make thing viewable further away than necessary just in case someone wants to put those vases outside . Good luck. Hopefully someone else will have info on your program. I haven't heard of it so can't fill in any empty spots.
  17. I don't make mesh clothes but I do know a few things. From you post it sounds like the mesh body people quote "normal SL UVs" refers to TEXTURE clothes that you would add onto the mesh body via APPLIERS, not actual mesh clothes. For that you would need (I believe) a creator kit from the specific body maker. These are often hard to come by (not all that many given out -- and not to folks that haven't proven they can actually MAKE the mesh ). Here is a link to the Robin Wood upgraded "normal SL UV maps". They will work for both standard avatars and mesh avatars (using an applier system). http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/SL-Tuts/SLPages/AVUVTemplates.html
  18. If you decide to use Blender there are TONS of tutorial videos out there. This can be as confusing as it is helpful. Two main things you need to consider --- 1. Look for newer videos where the interface matches what you have downloaded (or close to it ). 2. For game use (that's us) you need LOW POLY mesh and not what some of the videos show (super smooth and very dense). So if the person in the video is hitting that subsurf modifier a few times ("Let's push it up to four") then do NOT adopt that part of the video (the rest might be fine). Start with objects first before you move onto clothes. Rigging is a whole skill of its own. Getting a cube into SL that is mapped with different texture faces (materials) is really a good beginners goal . My PRINT tutorial list is here if you like going at your own pace and READING. While I am definitely in the Cycles Render camp now, I suggest learning the BASICS before moving into that mode. https://plus.google.com/100190052320604204973/posts/XD1KKUNKLAK
  19. Back to the original question ---- I would go with one of the more mainstream bodies over the less expensive ones. Being fitmesh compatible means very little. More and more good designers are making items specifically for Maitreya and other popular bodies (I have Maitreya). The folks that know how can make things that don't even NEED the alphas turned on and they fit perfectly. I have not seen that with either of the two bodies you mention. To be fair there are also mesh makers (full perm in most cases) who label their items for bodies but that obviously do not have the files (or perhaps the skills) to do a good job. ALSO, pay very close attention to the HUDS as you will be using these all the time and the easier they are to deal with the better. Good luck.

    is there a way?

It could be one or more things. It is VERY UNLIKELY it is Blender itself. You computer isn't hefty enough to run Blender well (if you are baking with textures as in Cycles Render it really DOES take a lot of computing power). Your mesh is too heavy (dense - too many tris etc.). You are baking at too high a resolution. I typically bake to a 1024 texture at 250 to 300 resolution. That is plenty IMHO to get the details you want. I have tried higher resolutions for smallish objects (and yes housing builds also) and while there is a slightly better final product (as in baking to a 2048 instead of a 1024 and then resizing) not everyone will even be able to see it LOL. I suggest baking at a lower resolution (I test at 20 - again this is in Cycles) and go from there. Also if you have objects in the scene that are not important to your bake, putting them on another layer (or deleting of course) will help with your speed. I have NEVER had my mouse freeze when baking. I typically read the forums or work in world. I also usually have two avatars online at ultra. A typical bake for a medium complex object at 1024 x 300 will take about 10 minutes. This with a variety of materials all baked to one texture. Here are my specs: CPU: Intel® Core i7-5820K CPU @ 3.30GHz (3298.08 MHz) Memory: 16286 MB OS Version: Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit (Build 10586) Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 980/PCIe/SSE2
  21. That WOULD be a nice feature for the future. I am not sure how the sender script thing would be terribly helpful though as you would still need to FIND all the folks that bought that particular product. If it is a lot and / or the product is older - that could be a monumental task. Also note that some of the updaters have been broken with new codes so relying on those isn't the best plan either. If you have a group, perhaps the best method was to make an announcement that there is an update and to contact you if folks want it. Good luck.
  22. You can run as many avatars on one viewer as your computer will handle. Someone has already mentioned the setting for that in case you didn't know. You can run them ALL on one computer with the SAME viewer in different windows. They will of course have different accounts. CONTROLLING them is a whole different story. If you need them to move together or interact in some way then really, you will need someone else to become your actors or at least log in to the accounts you have made (this used to be illegal but last time I checked it was OK to let someone else run your avatar --- I suggest checking that out before doing as rules change all the time ). If you can just place your actors on animated pose balls or on animated furniture OR let their AOs do the work you are set. If you need them to MOVE a long distance such as walking then while it IS possible through scripts, it is likely more than what you want to deal with. Over a hundred machinimas under my belt. It isn't that hard, you just need to plan. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1ueG0Yy8ruwbfK1x6L0dmA
  23. Just today I saw a note from someone who bought a skin on the Marketplace and got a box with a notecard (hence no skin). This is not unusual. The fact that there is NO DEMO should be a big warning bells sign. The fact that it is full perm AND looks good should bring in the drums . I have no info on this of course, just saying that there are plenty of scams on the marketplace. So no demo and no inworld store makes it very suspect. And the price is rediculously low. PS. I went to the Marketplace store with NINE items (all low priced) and there is no consistancy to the style or to the vendor adds. Add the trombones.
  24. I am pretty sure I skipped "economics" in college. Sure I would remember . That being said it would be noteworthy that quite a few high profile and extremely popular shops do NOT have a Marketplace presence at all. They rely on their products and the quality thereof rather than opt into the mainstream seller experience.
  25. There is a REASON why lots of folks only buy from Marketplace sellers who have an inworld prescence. This is one of them. Did you TRY THE DEMO? Having a demo work would certainly be a first step. And yes, things have always been this way. Your profile says you are over a year old so I am surprised that you didn't know. Now at least you can shop more wisely. There IS of course a chance that the skin maker might get back to you. Honest mistakes do happen.
