  1. You said that you made much of your inventory. There are some pretty major issues with going back and forth to Aditi and the "new" inventory in both places (only one way of course). I have had some major issues on Aditi and some old inventory showing up for LONG ago in my Agni account. Sorry, I read your post wrong so unless you HAVE been over on the beta grid that is not the issue. So that could be the issue too. If you clear your cache with no results you may want to contact support. Note that you will likely need to be on the Linden viewer in order for them to DO anything . Inventory DOES disappear. I have lost well over 10,000 items over the year in several major database fiascos. So that happens. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed for you. Mine was not.
  2. If you have made a certain amount of money and have not completed the IRS info then your money will likely be in holding. When this first started up a couple of years ago there were lots of folks that missed the information that they needed to confirm their identity in order to get paid. So that COULD be the issue. Check your "open tickets" in the backend of your account on the website.
  3. Well the OP made a mall and rezzed that so doubt that is the issue .
  4. The reason why you can't rez (assuming this is only on your build and not on everything in the sim as that happens now and then -- though not lately for me ) it is incorrect physics that is to blame. You need to make your own physics models for houses and house parts at least 90% of the time. You CAN rez in a mesh house made with a correct physics model. Assuming you aren't going to fix the physics you will most likely you need to rez a floor prim as suggested but don't make it transparent. For some odd reason the server doesn't always think transparent items are -- well let's say "real". Not a techie in that sense, so that my layman's explaination . You may be able to rez a prim, turn it blank and then set it to 100 transparent (NOT a transparent texture - there is a difference). I have had this work for me in the past. OR make a pretty rug and just rez your items on that. If you want to fix your model. Look up "house physics" or "can't walk in door" or something similar and you will find lots of explainations on physics models for buildings.
  5. I just tested and the LOD setting in FS at Ultra is 3. You can bump the LOD to 4 by moving the slider in the graphics settings in Preferences. THAT however isn't your real problem. It is important to note that the default LOD settings for most viewers are 2 (FS) down to 1.25 and even 1. That means that most everyone will see your build broken up and 10 meters is a VERY SHORT distance to have that happen. If you are working on a building you will likely want it viewable at about half a sim distance or 128 meters. To do this you have to import differently, not just let the uploader use the defaults. That being said it is likely that your mesh is less than optimum for building use (at least it certainily seems that way -- a screenshot of the mesh in your program is always good when asking questions). It is very likely that your fine detail is simply TOO fine and not practical for game use. I know nothing about Mesh Generator so these are just general mesh areas that you need to consider. If you don't understand how LODs work (details at a distance) then this old video might be helpful. http://blog.machinimatrix.org/optimizing-meshes/ It was made to explain how to transition from sculpts to mesh but the explaination of LODs and what you need to do to make them work well (for everyone - not just you) is very clear I think. If you do some searches on LOD settings in this forum you will likely find lots of info. So to be clear, it isn't YOUR settings === it is the mesh . If the pillars break apart at 10 meters at 3 LOD they will not be much better at 4 and expecting everyone to change their setting to 4 is unreasonable since many folks cannot. I test at 2 and try to make thing viewable further away than necessary just in case someone wants to put those vases outside . Good luck. Hopefully someone else will have info on your program. I haven't heard of it so can't fill in any empty spots.
  6. I don't make mesh clothes but I do know a few things. From you post it sounds like the mesh body people quote "normal SL UVs" refers to TEXTURE clothes that you would add onto the mesh body via APPLIERS, not actual mesh clothes. For that you would need (I believe) a creator kit from the specific body maker. These are often hard to come by (not all that many given out -- and not to folks that haven't proven they can actually MAKE the mesh ). Here is a link to the Robin Wood upgraded "normal SL UV maps". They will work for both standard avatars and mesh avatars (using an applier system). http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/SL-Tuts/SLPages/AVUVTemplates.html
  7. If you decide to use Blender there are TONS of tutorial videos out there. This can be as confusing as it is helpful. Two main things you need to consider --- 1. Look for newer videos where the interface matches what you have downloaded (or close to it ). 2. For game use (that's us) you need LOW POLY mesh and not what some of the videos show (super smooth and very dense). So if the person in the video is hitting that subsurf modifier a few times ("Let's push it up to four") then do NOT adopt that part of the video (the rest might be fine). Start with objects first before you move onto clothes. Rigging is a whole skill of its own. Getting a cube into SL that is mapped with different texture faces (materials) is really a good beginners goal . My PRINT tutorial list is here if you like going at your own pace and READING. While I am definitely in the Cycles Render camp now, I suggest learning the BASICS before moving into that mode. https://plus.google.com/100190052320604204973/posts/XD1KKUNKLAK
  8. Back to the original question ---- I would go with one of the more mainstream bodies over the less expensive ones. Being fitmesh compatible means very little. More and more good designers are making items specifically for Maitreya and other popular bodies (I have Maitreya). The folks that know how can make things that don't even NEED the alphas turned on and they fit perfectly. I have not seen that with either of the two bodies you mention. To be fair there are also mesh makers (full perm in most cases) who label their items for bodies but that obviously do not have the files (or perhaps the skills) to do a good job. ALSO, pay very close attention to the HUDS as you will be using these all the time and the easier they are to deal with the better. Good luck.

    is there a way?

It could be one or more things. It is VERY UNLIKELY it is Blender itself. You computer isn't hefty enough to run Blender well (if you are baking with textures as in Cycles Render it really DOES take a lot of computing power). Your mesh is too heavy (dense - too many tris etc.). You are baking at too high a resolution. I typically bake to a 1024 texture at 250 to 300 resolution. That is plenty IMHO to get the details you want. I have tried higher resolutions for smallish objects (and yes housing builds also) and while there is a slightly better final product (as in baking to a 2048 instead of a 1024 and then resizing) not everyone will even be able to see it LOL. I suggest baking at a lower resolution (I test at 20 - again this is in Cycles) and go from there. Also if you have objects in the scene that are not important to your bake, putting them on another layer (or deleting of course) will help with your speed. I have NEVER had my mouse freeze when baking. I typically read the forums or work in world. I also usually have two avatars online at ultra. A typical bake for a medium complex object at 1024 x 300 will take about 10 minutes. This with a variety of materials all baked to one texture. Here are my specs: CPU: Intel® Core i7-5820K CPU @ 3.30GHz (3298.08 MHz) Memory: 16286 MB OS Version: Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit (Build 10586) Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 980/PCIe/SSE2
  10. That WOULD be a nice feature for the future. I am not sure how the sender script thing would be terribly helpful though as you would still need to FIND all the folks that bought that particular product. If it is a lot and / or the product is older - that could be a monumental task. Also note that some of the updaters have been broken with new codes so relying on those isn't the best plan either. If you have a group, perhaps the best method was to make an announcement that there is an update and to contact you if folks want it. Good luck.
  11. You can run as many avatars on one viewer as your computer will handle. Someone has already mentioned the setting for that in case you didn't know. You can run them ALL on one computer with the SAME viewer in different windows. They will of course have different accounts. CONTROLLING them is a whole different story. If you need them to move together or interact in some way then really, you will need someone else to become your actors or at least log in to the accounts you have made (this used to be illegal but last time I checked it was OK to let someone else run your avatar --- I suggest checking that out before doing as rules change all the time ). If you can just place your actors on animated pose balls or on animated furniture OR let their AOs do the work you are set. If you need them to MOVE a long distance such as walking then while it IS possible through scripts, it is likely more than what you want to deal with. Over a hundred machinimas under my belt. It isn't that hard, you just need to plan. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1ueG0Yy8ruwbfK1x6L0dmA
  12. Just today I saw a note from someone who bought a skin on the Marketplace and got a box with a notecard (hence no skin). This is not unusual. The fact that there is NO DEMO should be a big warning bells sign. The fact that it is full perm AND looks good should bring in the drums . I have no info on this of course, just saying that there are plenty of scams on the marketplace. So no demo and no inworld store makes it very suspect. And the price is rediculously low. PS. I went to the Marketplace store with NINE items (all low priced) and there is no consistancy to the style or to the vendor adds. Add the trombones.
  13. I am pretty sure I skipped "economics" in college. Sure I would remember . That being said it would be noteworthy that quite a few high profile and extremely popular shops do NOT have a Marketplace presence at all. They rely on their products and the quality thereof rather than opt into the mainstream seller experience.
  14. There is a REASON why lots of folks only buy from Marketplace sellers who have an inworld prescence. This is one of them. Did you TRY THE DEMO? Having a demo work would certainly be a first step. And yes, things have always been this way. Your profile says you are over a year old so I am surprised that you didn't know. Now at least you can shop more wisely. There IS of course a chance that the skin maker might get back to you. Honest mistakes do happen.
  15. Block only works for folks you KNOW not for the long line of folks that appear one by one as the "game" (their words - certainly not mine) continues. You could of course block those avatars also but there is not much point when a new one will just show up. Since most of the folks replying to this thread have no experience with the actual issue, their points of view are less than relevant in my book . If you haven't walked in someone's shoes, disparaging remarks are simply uneducated rhetoric.
  16. A few comments First of all Second Life is not JUST a social platform. Some folks here are working, not playing. Not everyone hangs around in sex sims or clubs. So there are SOME folks that would like their privacy so that they can work. It doesn't mean that they need to see a psychiatrist. It gets old and tiring when folks (army of alts) try and chat you up -- in my case pretending to be a customer so that I pretty much have to be nice. The problem is that not everyone is good at the alt game -- or certainly not as good as they THINK they are. They drop the ball and show there hand. All in all its pretty boring and really a time waster. There ARE legitimate uses of the online function such as delivering updates or in my case blogger boxes. We did manage to do all those things without the function for a long while though. Good for some, not so good for others.
  17. While you can't actually solve the problem you can do some things. HIDE ALL YOUR GROUPS so that no one looking for you can find you that way (easily anyway). TURN YOU LAND TAB TO KEEP OTHERS FROM SEEING YOU FROM OUTSIDE YOUR PARCEL (in the land tab - if you are renting you might ask your landlord to change that for you if needed) TURN OFF VISIBILITY IN THE VIEWER - Preferences > Only friends and groups know when I am online. Turn off the "know when I am online" for all your friends that you don't really care about knowing -- so like your REAL FRIENDS. Find a new piece of land to buy or rent if the person stalking you knows where you live. Turn on privacy setting there also and maybe a security orb *wink*. I am personally against making an alt just to hide from someone. That let's them win. And yes, I have and am there . You could if you wanted to be nasty and the person CAN find you fairly easily (home, store, traditional hangouts) -- become completely invisible so you can be there and no one can see you - LOL. I haven't done this but .... You can of course mute whoever is hassling you but they likely have alts that can also hassle you. Some folks seem to have an ARMY OF ALTS. Worse is the game play and time wasting. Really stupid. Most of us aren't 13 any longer. Good luck.
  18. You need to rez the package and open it manually like in the "good old days". All these unpacking scripts are new fangled things and now and then they don't work. So just drag it to the ground as you said you did and the right click - Open - Copy to inventory.
  19. Could it simply be your maturity settings? This is what "I" see when I type in Angel. None are grayed out.
  20. Mostly happens to me late at night (SL time) like after 10 and I seldom go there then. There is no one around and likely TESTING is going on. In the morning all is well again in the same spot on the same sandbox. Not too handy for folks that are not on SL standard time.
  21. Well -- I am in a chatty mood tonight it seems. That group started not too long after the big TOS change in August a few years back. http://chicatphilsplace.blogspot.com/p/linden-labs-change-in-tos-august-2013.html Much dra-ma both with the TOS and the group and happily I was at least out of the group excitment. People have been writing about the group for a long while -- not being let in, no replies, etc etc. We are talking YEARS here. I can't remember if I ever applied long ago or not. I definitely qualify but if I applied I never received a confirmation. For all we know the whole group is no longer viable. The bottom line is that it simply doesn't matter. Do a good job. Put "original mesh" on your items if you want. Build up your own credibility. There were plenty of folks that were (and likely still ARE ) ANTI SLOCCA. I would never want to be a part of that group THESE days. . You remember those cliques in high school? Well SLOCCA is right in line. OR you could just make your own very lovely logo LOL (honestly, not being catty. Just so very ridiculous.)
  22. Smiles. I remember you post from a few days ago. Here's the story -- for better or worse. In the olden days (pre mesh - pre sculpts) folks pretty much built like you are building. There were a few stellar (STELLAR) folks around (and still around LOL) that made their own textures in 3D programs and then mapped those inworld to their prim builds. They were WAY ahead of the curve, likely made tons of money etc etc. Good for them. Then came sculpts (not too great with many issues) and mesh. The real answer to your query is Blender Cycles (or the equivalent in another 3D program). This bakes the shadows into the mesh (well it makes a texture that you add to the mesh and you end up with a very convincing look (with practice) of light and shadow EVEN for folks with lower abilities in the graphics department. That however takes TIME. Lots and lots of time. After almost four years of 40+ hour weeks I feel pretty confident. I wonder about these folks that say the "get it" in a couple of days. I have my doubts as there are SO MANY things you need to consider to make good and convincing mesh. Anyway, that is the LONG answer. The SHORT answer and what was used for a long time years ago would be to make a texture (or a few - 512 x 512 - 512 x 256 - 1024 x 1024 etc) with you base texture as you have shown with SHADOWED edges around the sides. Actually I am sure you can find these at texture stores as they were all the rage a few years ago. This gives a sort of faux shadow to each prim. Actually it looks pretty good. Not Cycles good by any means but a big step beyond what you have there. Materials came in maybe three years ago and were all the rage. Lots of folks still use them. But to DEPEND on them is a mistake from my point of view. Too many people cannot use advanced lighting AND in many windlight settings normal maps can look really really bad. For that reason -- even though I have a program that will make normal and specular maps -- I rarely use them these days. I rely on Cycles with a very overall shadow pattern. The bottom line is that if you are serious about building then learning 3D modeling will be extremely important. It is not a short term deal as I said before. It takes a commitment. BUT once you have put in your time, life goes back to fun and creating rather than "how the hell do I do that" mode LOL. All that being said -- when I went over to Opensim a couple of years ago I rediscovered prims and it was great fun. You CAN do a lot with prims and good textures, no argument there. Most everyone started with a cube. Here is a link to my tutorials if they might be of assistance https://plus.google.com/100190052320604204973/posts/XD1KKUNKLAK Those are from 2015. Newer ones (very advanced) are in my Google stream. Happy creating!!!!
  23. Agreed that the inventory has changed now on the beta grid and you are SUPPOSED to have both inventories there. This is sometimes very handy and I do appreciate looking better over there (vain vain). BUT it is not working all that well. For a long while much of my main grid inventory was listed but not available including body parts so I went around in just a necklace and alpha layer for some days (yes I could have put on some old stuff from my aditi inventory (well maybe) but it didn't matter. THAT got fixed for me, but last night I went over to test an addition to some mesh I had made the day before and carefully SAVED with SAVE in the filename . All my uploads from the day before were gone. So I uploaded it all again and happily it wasn't too complex an object. So while the idea is a great one, it might be awhile until it is stable. If you really NEED something to work on over time -- like a building -- then leaving it rezzed and rerezing often so that it remains out might be wise. That has been and will be my plan for awhile.
  24. I measured that problematic doorway and also found out the heighth of my avatar friend. He is 2.28 meters in the shape menu. The doorway that was an issue (other taller ones were fine) is 2.5 meters and again he DID get through the door but took a couple of tries. I have a guy avatar that is much taller and I am sure he wouldn't make it. So there IS something to say about making those doorways a bit bigger than "real life". The folks that propose that are evidently not building for the masses .
  25. LOL. That made me smile. If I had to go to all that work to keep them, better to let them go *wink*.
