  1. Maybe not a big tragedy after all. Those old things had texture size of 512 x 512 pixels. BoM will accept texture size of 1024 x 1024 pixels. There is a big difference how much better and clearer the bigger textures will look compared to the old smaller ones.
  2. Pretty nice rigged hair gift at EMO-tions. *Marit* fat back, has many HUDs to change the hair colour.
  3. So that it's not always just a selfie of my avatar I included my oldest SL friend in this snapshot. Friends since 2007 and still going on. Which is nice as there are lots of nice shared memories.
  4. In 2012 I made bikini bottom with small prim spheres. Total of 227 prims. I was very happy with my 'awesome' creation. Until one day one woman asked me "why are you wearing only the top?". Then I knew it was very slow to rez for others to see it, oopss... Anyway it was nice building experience to delicately arrange all the spheres on the avatar.
  5. Yeah, that's the one used in Vista store for the snapshots (I had a typo in my post Zhoe --> should be Zoe).
  6. Trying out how Vista's Zhoe Zoe full bento AO works with Genus head. General observation, some animations look ok, some don't. So, I think it's better to wait till GenusProject releases their own animations. (Vista have also full bento dances with facial animations, they make the mouth rather awful looking. I don't like them even in Vista heads. No, no, please no! )
  7. Exploring New Berlin region. I saw a train station and thought to have a ride on the train. I waited for a bit and soon enough the train indeed arrived and stopped on the station where I was. However when I tried hop in the doors didn't open. The train stood there for couple of minutes and then left without any passengers. Well, after this shocking experience I decided to take a rest. Maybe with the next train I would be more lucky...
  8. Another type of one prim lamp. I still have saved this Ultimate guide to prim twisting .
  9. Hmm.. it likes more black and white nude statues than any of my avatar only portraits.
  10. Maybe ancient Egyptians didn't have bikinis nor high heels, but if they did it might have looked a bit like this - or not. (Wearing: A&A - 'Cleo Hair Moonlight' (it's flexi hair). It was only 1 L$ when I bought it a long time ago.) By the way, in Firestorm phototools there are couple of adjustments to make the SL shadows to look very good. Those settings are excellent for snapshots. However as the good looking shadows are rather heavy to render it's better to return the settings back to the default after taking snapshots.
  11. @youneedme10Xover Now the question arises: How tall (or short) is your avatar? If it's very short that may well be the reason for the body to deform badly.
  12. The sad truth with mesh heads is that every mesh head brand needs animations made specifically for them to look good. Universal animations which would look good in all mesh heads do not exist, and actually such cannot be made. For example I tried Vista Lia head's very nice animations on the new Genus head and the result was really, really ugly looking on Genus head. There would be terrible complaining going on if the body animations didn't work on all mesh bodies universally. But for the mesh heads - as things are we just need "to suck it up", the no universally compatible animations. Aarrgghh... One more reason (again) for Linden Lab to upgrade the classic (aka system) avatar. (Just waiting, who is the first one to chime in "it's too late, it cannot be done, it would break existing content, why would you want to force everybody to wear system avatar, etc, etc, etc....)
  13. Additional question: Why should this name change / name selection thing be only available for premium members? Wouldn't it be more fair that everybody can change their name if they wanted to? And pay for the name change. Every new user creating an account should be able to select first and last name free of any charge. Nobody would pay for name when creating an account.
  14. I found nice camp site, and something interesting to read.
  15. So far that hover board is the best and fun weekly gift from SL15B Gift Grab. https://community.secondlife.com/blogs/entry/2401-sl15b-gift-grab-clue-week-10/
  16. @youneedme10Xover In Firestorm viewer, have you tried: "Appearance, Reset, Skel. & Anim"?
  17. But, but... I just recently wrote somewhere in the forums that I don't need another head (°.°) But still, that head sure is very, very tempting. Must think about it, hmm...
  18. Playing with bento pose and simple prop... as if there wasn't something more important to do.
  19. After reading all about the Genus mesh head I just had to try the demo. OMG... it's a very pretty head - and no duck lips! ❤️ Surprisingly the shape what I'm using with Vista Lia head looked pretty good on it with just very slight adjustments in the eyes and mouth. Wearing the Brownies skin in the snapshot below.
  20. I go sometimes to that place to surf. Just visited there today even. Nice looking place to visit. Often laggy due to many visitors, affecting the surfing experience. Anyway it's worth visiting due to the nice scenery. (Additional info: Most of the time there are many avatars just standing silently not far from the entrance. Mostly they are after "adult activities"). The slurl is: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Opelessence/200/72/22 (AKA: "Secret Beach")
  21. System avatar's mesh is only one mesh layer so it's light to render. Imported mesh bodies have many mesh layers on top of each other (3 layers and even 4 layers). So that fact alone makes them heavier to render than the system avatar's mesh. And naturally the imported mesh bodies are more detailed than system avatar.
