Peeve: Why am I even buying an evening gown?!?! I don't go anywhere!

I don't either, but I did end up buying 2 because they were lovely and pretty cheap.  And who know, maybe someday (before SL really does die), I start going out dancing again.

I've been collecting them during the advent calendar events and other various Shop & Hops and freebie events. OMG some are so dang pretty - even if all I do is dress up and take photos I always forget to post. 😂

Been at this for 5 minutes now, already have 8 demos from one store I actually thought was a different store, and now I realize there are 3 places I need to grab demos from instead of just 2.

This is going to be a whole project and I don't even need one in the first place. 😄

Hate unpacking boxes where the creator has went overboard on the boxing..

I have one creator that I won't shop at anymore because it took me over an hour and a half to unpack like 5 products I bought from them.. lol

It was like a box in a box, finally fatpack box level.. Then unpacking the fatpack there was every color of the fatpack in a box, then unpacking color, there was 5 mesh body versions of one color.

Half way through, I was ripping my hair out and cursing the creator so bad.. LOL

I was like, NEVER AGAIN!!\o/

There are a few Creators that have modified their delivery HUD to have a button for each body, and one for 'all bodies'.  That was really great.  Not only could I attach the HUD and get just the stuff for Maitreya, but it also meant fewer items in the folder that I had to delete.  Those creators get an extra Kudos from me.

ETA:  As I read further down, I noticed that you made this same comment.

Peeve: Government websites that insist you must use at least one special character in your password EXCEPT the only one you can remember! And it even requires using the shift key!

So, I reset my password only to have them lock me out of my account AFTER changing the password! You know the drill, change password after 2 or 3 attempts to log in and then when you do change the password and try to log in with it, THEY LOCK YOU OUT OF THE ACCOUNT FOR USING THE NEW PASSWORD YOU JUST SET.

Most Sunday nights I go dancing at a jazz club (not, I hasten to add, Frank's) which is reasonably ritzy. There's no dress code as such, but you just sort of feel like you should wear a gown. And I usually go there with the same guy.

And I found myself feeling embarrassed if I wore the same dress more than once. So, before I knew what was happening, I was basically buying a new gown every week, just for my Sundays. And then spending an hour turning it into a full outfit (hair, makeup, etc.).

I bought . . . a lot of gowns before I realized how crazy that was.

I still end up getting at least one or two new clubbing dresses a month though.

*sigh*

I used to feel that way back when I went out clubbing/dancing, too. Always shopping for new gowns - and back then (when things were flexi) they were pretty pricey!

These days - I get the same feeling when posting to Flickr. Nope, can't use that dress...posted that one last December! 🤣

Most of what I wear in SL, I only wear once and then actually delete it.  I started doing this early in my SLife because I was shopping so much that the only way I'd ever come close to wearing everything that I bought was if I wore something different every day.

These days, I don't socialize as much, so there is nobody to see if I wear the same outfit for days on end.  And, since I'm also pretty lazy these days, I will only change clothes 1-2 times a week -- though I have been known to wear the same outfit for almost a month when RL gets hectic.

These days, I do re-wear my basics (tops, pants, shorts) and just mix them up a bit.  BUT, if I wear a dress for something, it still will either be deleted when I take it off, or put in a special folder of basically "worn but super cute, so keep".  If I buy an full outfit that doesn't have a color HUD, then that one will also usually be tossed after wearing - though I might keep the pieces if they are all separates.

If y'all ever need an escort for your evenings, I'm available! And I mean a polite date.

I should probably warn you that the only avies I stuff into gowns are a green orc and a...pink...whatever she is. Haven't figured it out yet, but she's pink and sparkles and is styled like Marilyn Monroe. I'm a terrible dance partner.

That reminds me, I really do need to update Flickr with some of this stuff.

You don't understand The System, Silent.

First, Government websites get the leftovers when it comes to website development.

And second, they like it this way. Unlike commerce sites that cater to their customers because that's how they make money, Government websites are meant to keep people at bay. That, in turn, is because the Government does not make money from their websites, they make it from your taxes. And if they only spend a little money and pay the least amount possible to their web developers, they get to keep more of it for their own salaries.

I should scare the crap out of you and ask you to be my escort. But I'll be nice. This time.

Very droll!

I should have replied to the ones talking about "evening gowns", but I'd escort you in a hot minute, Wolf. And I say "Wolf" lovingly.

/me writes Love's name on her dance card...

I'm not old enough for dance cards, but I remember my Grandma talking about them.

Your dance card's not full, that's a good sign! (That's a "valid" excuse, if one's "dance card is full".)

I was trying to renew my SNAP that I have been on for 5 years. I don't have an income. ffs.

I know you're trying to make light of it but now is not a good time for me.

I have had to change my effing password every damn time I renew online for the past 5 years. That is BS!!

Not making light of your frustration, just explaining (admittedly, in a humorous way) why it's happening to you. And to me, and every other person trying to use Government web sites.

I have the same problems and more with 'em.

Yeah. I know the state is trying to make my blood pressure shoot through the roof so I'll die already. Story of my life.
