Pixie Kobichenko
Itâs a great big culinary world out there.  Itâs always interesting to me to see dishes from around the world (even in parts of my own country) I would never have even heard of if not for the internet.  Maybe you have a favorite recipe to share or maybe want to gush about a meal out (or take away)?  Iâm scared of grease fires to the point that I donât cook with oil.  This week I fried for the first time in at least 10 years.  We made pulled pork taquitos & they were amazing!   I knew I had to buy these marshmallows when I saw them on the shelf & so today I will be making chocolate popcorn balls & the rest of the batch of taquitos. Do you have any yummies to share? Edited August 14, 2021 by Pixie Kobichenko
Garnet Psaltery
Well, I'm hardly a gourmet, and haven't really got that much interest in food, but I have just enjoyed some stuffed vine leaves and am now tucking into an apple pie with Cornish clotted cream.  Proper 'andsome, proper job.

Silent Mistwalker
We've been avoiding cooking inside until the heat wave dies down some so we've been grilling. We managed to keep it below 85F inside yesterday. Barely. It's too hot to eat much any way.

Due to working from home & happy dogs I canât have someone in to fix it right now- so we have 2 window units. Oh & if this is in your budget- these make a HUGE difference (I have the blue one with button control & the older red one with a dial. That would only make it worse. If you've never lived in an older mobile home, you have no idea what it is like to live in a tin can. Exterior walls are no more than 3 -4 inches thick so very little insulation. The roof is just as bad and it's curved, not peaked. And it's all 40 year old aluminum siding. And of course the long front side has the southern exposure with all the larger windows on that side (60'x14') and no shade. What little shade there was, was a neighbors tree behind us and they cut it down last year. Nothing wrong with the tree so it must have been the roots growing into the sewer system. What we need to fix it all, we can't afford. A roof over the whole thing and it needs to extend out over the concrete pad which does not run the full length of the trailer so we'd have to add in at least 2 window awnings. Had we known what a crappy job the park was doing "remodeling" this place before we bought it, I would never have agreed to the purchase. The kitchen cabinets and counters don't even match and they weren't intended for home use. They were made to be used in a break room in an office. So, that means I can't use a good portion of my counter space because nothing will fit underneath the cabinets. They cobbled the kitchen together out of junk they bought from Habitat for Humanity. Didn't mean for this to turn into a rant. Sorry.

Iâm sorry youâre dealing with a crummy home.  I can commiserate- in 2017 we bought a double wide that was built in the mid 90s.  We didnât know what we were doing & got suckered.  By the time we were able to move away, there was one bedroom with completely rotted floor, kitchen couldnât be entered due to soft floor, boards bought to make a gang plank to a toilet, we had to shut the hot water tank off after every use because the knobs in the other bathroom had water blasting out to the backside of the tub.  The day we left it was storming & literally had 50 gallon storage tubs catching water from the ceiling in multiple places in the living room.  There was no ac or heat- the previous owners had dumped boxes of mothballs in all the floor vents (I donât know how they lived with the vapors), thatâs why we have window units now & heated the house with the oven & an electric fireplace.  That was the winter I had sepsis & had to have major abdominal surgery.  It was just horrific all around.   I do understand & am very sorry for your circumstances đ¤Â
