One or both parties are typically enjoying a sexual climax from the interplay and money is exchanged, so ....... Since LL is located in California, lets see what California considers to be prostitution shall we? Prostitution refers to a lewd act performed in exchange for money or another form of compensation. Under California prostitution law, a lewd act requires physical contact of a sexual nature, sexual conduct, or sexual intercourse between two people. It also is a crime to solicit prostitution, such as offering to pay money for sex, or to pander prostitution (activity commonly referred to as "pimping"). Sorry, but according to California law, there is NO prostitution in Second Life. https://statelaws.findlaw.com/california-law/california-prostitution-laws.html

So when you asked how the non-physical stuff was prostitution, to me it seemed like you were questioning how it could be considered prostitution in those other countries. Thus I answered as I did. Wait, they will make it up by starting a program to force everyone to eat healthy and exercise.

I've said for years that while it might be healthier to not smoke, so many US communities and the Federal government depend very heavily on the cigarette tax. That is why, as more people quit, they have to raise the tax again. 13 minutes ago, Phorumities said: Wait, they will make it up by starting a program to force everyone to eat healthy and exercise. I read just last week or so that there is actually a life insurance company that requires all new policy holders to use an fitness tracker of some sort or they will not insure them. My employer actually charges about twice as much in health insurance premiums to people that smoke. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see that happen more and more. Just wait until the socialists (er I mean democrats) completely take over healthcare, which is the long range plan, because obamacare is designed so that insurance companies WILL fail and the government can then say, see those evil greedy businessmen can't be trusted to give us affordable health care. and then as good socialist citizens of the Socialist States of America, you will be compelled to exercise and eat right. You won't have any choice about eating right though, all high cal low nutrient snacks will be banned. Democratic SOP: give business an impossible task, then when they fail, blame greedy businessmen and either take it over or impose even more onerous rules. The endgame plan? Government ownership of everything, including YOU.

I've tried to photograph flakes over the years with disappointing results. The dance floor at the top of the SL lighthouse I built was textured with a snowflake photo that flipped from positive to negative at sundown, and back at sunrise. I have a couple large canvas snowflake prints I swap onto my RL walls in winter, and I have a coffee table book about snowflake photography, in which there are instructions for taking them. One of these days I'll get back to work on them. Ack, life just presents so many interesting opportunities! ETA: (I don't have to tell you this, do I, Ceka? ;-). We don't get the winters down here like we did in Chicago.. I've never stopped missing those really big fluffy snows or those blizzards.. If we are really lucky we'll get some real cold days and get a bad big snow storm that will keep things covered for a couple of days..But for the most part, any snow we get is gone by 9am.. It's mostly wet and muddy and cold in the winter here.. Chicago I remember just huge snow storms and it being really cold to where you could walk on top of the snow.. I would love to try to take pictures of snowflakes..They are just so cool looking.. I'm really into looking downward as much as I am upward.. At least once every winter, I go outside into a "big flake" snowstorm, lie down on the ground and look straight up into the sky. One of the best days of my life was spent on a toboggan hill near my home. I was about three or four at the time, so this is an assisted memory and a favorite family story. We got up before dawn, had an early breakfast and were on the hill before anyone else. By lunch, the sun had come out, the sky was that deep winter blue, and I was exhausted from walking up and down the hill all morning. Mom went home to make lunch and I plopped down on the snow to soak up the sun and recharge. While I lay there looking like a little corpse, another mother tore into Dad for abusing me out there on the hill. She was livid... "That poor child!". He turned to me and said "Maddy, do you want to go home?". I eeked out a wobbly "noooooo" and that was the end of it. We all finally left the hill around 9PM (with time for pee breaks). It just doesn't get any better than that. Edited September 30, 2018 by Madelaine McMasters
