Pamela Galli
Boosting sales, hmm? Fixing search relevance is the first thing that comes to mind. Brooke says they are working on that. Anyway -- first in! I got to keep my siggy! But now to see if I can link it to the MP instead of Xstreet,
Medhue Simoni
Pamela Galli wrote: I got to keep my siggy! But now to see if I can link it to the MP instead of Xstreet, Yeah, LL seemed to forget all about linking the old Xstreet merchant pages to the new 1's. Lucky for us, we can change the link now, I think.
ab Vanmoer
So how does one place an image in one's signature, or have those been copied across from the old blogorum?
ab Vanmoer
Oh just figured out how One can use a standard HTML image tag in their signature to refer to an image uploaded to "My Uploaded Images" via your about page: <img src="http://community.secondlife.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/957iA55FA8FA82164590"> It seems that the maximum height of an image is about 64 pixels, anything taller will get clipped. It may also work for images hosted on other sites, but I haven't tried. ETA: It appears that the correct height for signature images is
Catwise Yoshikawa
Fix search. If I want to search for "neko ears" I don't want to find everything with neko in tags or everything with ears, I want both words to find neko ears, not all kind of ears and all kind of items for nekos. Bubba Biberman
Fix search. Titles should carry more weight than keywords.

Robert Galland
I cannot repeat enough what has already been said. Search is just not functional right now.
Pamela Galli
Miyo Darcy wrote: Agree.. the keywords just produce to much funny results in search. There may be some products out there that require all that space for keywords, but none of mine come anywhere close, and some of mine are extremely feature-rich. One line of carefully chosen keywords should be plenty. That is where the abuse potential comes in. And why titles should have more weight (since there is less space). Toysoldier Thor
I dont think its the keywords themselves that are generating the funky poor relevance results - its that the actual SLM Search engine is borked or misconfigured. I have seen search results for keywords I know i have explicitly had in my items - and several listings are in front of me. When I looked at the Keywords and titles of these listings - many of them didnt even have the reference of the query I asked for and i fact some of the listings didnt even have any keywords. So..... its not the keywords / title field's fault.... its the Search / Indexing service that LL has dployted incorrectly. so.... FIX THE SEARCH RELEVANCE and focus on the KEYWORDS and TITLES fields - that is what they were primarily designed for. demoting keyword's importance in search when that was its primary purpose is just plain dumb. I also think that LL should publicly display the keywords fields content in the bottom corner of the listing - so that it can be better scrutinized by the Market population. It would also make it harder for a cheating merchant to use invalid keywords for his/her product listing (a form of keyword abuse more than keyword spamming). Josh Susanto
My best suggestion would just be to at some point stop screwing around with how the system functions. If there is an efficient way for merchants to use it, they will figure it out. But, if, by that time, you've changed something yet again, there's basically no way they can keep up with you. Barring my little pipe dream of possible system stabiliization, though... 1) Changes that happen for a reason need to be explained, and the reason for making them needs to be explained. 2) This needs to be done in advance; a plan must be stated and the plan must be followed. Leading with a bunch of apparent bait-and-switch examples just encourages merchants to behave in the same way. Is that what LL really wants? Amiryu Hosoi
Hey Lexie. As you can see people want LL to fix search. That would be a great idea. While you are working on fixing maybe you can give me an answer on the following; I have read somewhere that the text in the "product features" also were going to be searchable. I thought I was being smart to use the first field in "product features" to tag a listing with a code so I could keep track while updating. iIt looks though as if the "product features" fields are NOT searchable. I would like to suggest some kind of system so we can tag our listings to keep track of updates. So I want to ask you to add 2 editable fields to the "Manage inventory" screen; 1 field for price updates and 1 field for update tags, for instance a 6 letter code? Also some kind of sort function might be handy. Ami
Asha Eerie
Does anyone find listing enhancements useful?
phaedra Exonar
I just got a listing enhancements for the first time 3 days ago, I'm hoping it does better over the weekend. I'd much rather pay for a listing enhancement that targeted a community group, then a category or check out home page. I think community based marketing is really important for selling to smaller niche markets. The results from my first enhancement seam to be backing that idea. Would love to hear more from people with more experience with listing enhancements.

Josh Susanto
>As you can see people want LL to fix search Almost. I want them to fix it or not fix it. It's the in-between thing that's creating the main problem.
Asha Eerie
Thank you for your answer, Porky. I have been testing enhancements for a couple weeks now and not getting a sale from them. Previously I had had sales from them and I am curious about what's going on.
Amiryu Hosoi
I am running a few Home Page Featured items but when I check, refresh the hompage, scroll the featured items box.... nothing. I don't see any of my items come by, ever... while other peoples listings show up again and again and again;-( ami

Hmmz... my sales peaked in Nov and Dec as well, without having any enchancements running. Then I bought some just after Christmas. But they did do nothing at all for me. I decided not to continue with them, it's merely a waste of money.
Catwise Yoshikawa
For me only works when have enhancement for seasonal items, not homepage but category (homepage was a waste of money evertime I tried). But is not working for the rest of my items, even if they are my best sellers, enhancement is not working as they should.
