  1. I run a pretty busy Ballroom . Where the ladies have a boat load of prims (high ARC) LOL' Most of their arc is half way decent. But some people end up wearing a lot of jewelry which can really shoot that Number up high,, But that is more of a rendering problem for viewers and not sim lag... If all the prims have resizer scripts in them. Then you have a serious lag issue for the server and everyone's comfort I do not impose and ARC limits. I worry more about the massive scripts an avatar has attached to his/her avatar in all those prims I think some clubs target the wrong thing when it comes to ARC. They seem to see they may be helping lag. But in all actuality limiting the arc/prims also limits the scripts a lot of those prims had in them..They should lean more towards getting people to lower their script count to ease the lag on the server..(hopefully LL gets script limits going soon) Ask the vender for an updated item that uses 1 resizer instead of 250 resizer scripts hehe Or using the menu option on the item to remove the scripts after it is resized and fitted... Viewer lag is easy to help by educating a busy crowd to not all stand close together. Spread out a bit. it helps LOL' You will be shocked to know that some residents have upwards to 800+ Script attached to them.I have seen some avatars using up to 20MB memory in script usage. That may seem small to you. But it ads up if you had 50 avatars using the same or close to on the same region It is my understandi8ng the regions run on 800 megs Get 50 residents on a sim with using up 20 megs per avatar. = Death to the sim comfort lol
  2. I do a lot of hiring in SL. I also use an employment group for one of my sources. It is free. I have not tried a service that has fees. I would be a bit leary of it.. I guess I would have the same question if a paid for service is as affective or not.. Or Better.. I do get quite a few replies from the group I am in. They allow one group notice for Business owners to send, per day.
  3. Wow Interesting. Wish I knew the answer
  4. Awesome! Will have to check this out today! Thanks!
  5. I played golf a few years back. It was a lot of fun. A lot of limitations back in 2007 i think. But was still a blast The place I went is gone now. But would like to find a few more just for the fun of it. If anyone find some links. Post them here
  6. I ran into a SL mentor on another website She Invited me in . I I took the offer. She showed me around for a few weeks and it inspired me. It amazed me. I took it to heart and started building 2 weeks into the game.. I was like wow! This place is awesome! Then started doing business ever since. I did come before about 6 months prior to meeting her and tossed it because I didn't know what It was about LOL But thankful I ran into her on a website.. I will never forget her name tho Eva Williamson
  7. Have you tried to change your login location? Preferences/General tab should be a spot to set a Region name.. Also Show on Login Screen
  8. Over the 4.5 years I have had a few do that.. Hope nothing happened to any of them But you never know what went thru their real lives.. One friend came back a year later. Said her real life marriage ended in a nasty divorce so she didn't log in for ever.. I didn't ask LOL but I think Sl was the catalyst.. It always makes you wonder. And hoping to god nothing tragic happened to them personally. Good Luck, I hope you hear something soon Also with the economy the way it is. Maybe a loss of job Or something caused them to not be able to use the internet
  9. A Lot of times a Sim owner will remodel or rebuild and close it to the public during this time.. You might contact the owner or look at their profile for more info
  10. Open Inventory Goto My Outfits folder Chose an outfit (Male or Female) Right Click on the folder and Chose Replace Outfit It is a shorcut around all those character tests Usualy works for me The go back to your original avatar.
  11. Get a prim animator script for the legs/movement And get a follow script for the pet to follow you on command Can usualy find this stuff in script library forums and wiki Search for zanimator
  12. Probably on purpose to slow the drama train down and negativity
  13. I think the gifs are awesome. Self expression in SL and community is what it is all about... :smileyvery-happy:
  14. One of the Best practices Sweethearts jazz does, Is During the hiring process and training we use voice communication. We start always with A Voice interview before hiring the resident. After the resident is hired, we follow up with voice training, and walk the host through their fist shift on voice. Many reasons we do that One reason is, to hopefully determine the residents real life age. Not that their age is important but the fact there are many kids who sneak in to SL and apply for jobs, Several cases we have had 10 year olds, 11 year olds, and 13 year olds apply for jobs. During these interviews you can tell when Mom and dad keep coming in yelling at them to get off the computer Or the 11 year old male sounds like a female lol The other, and most important reason is to clearly be able to communicate what you need done, and to establish a more personal connection with the employee. It gives both a chance to see where each other are coming from etc.
  15. The system We use at Sweethearts pays the resident at the end of each shift,. and they rez their tip jars and get 100% tips. The tips are instant. As well as the Shift payments when completed and clocked out I think it is good to know what kind of payment system the Employer has. Use a great deal of caution if the employer asks you to submit monthly, bi weekly, or even weekly time cards... You don't want to work for a week or longer and then the owner bails out and takes all the event cash and leaves everyone hanging. If a Place requires you to submit a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly time sheet, I would suggest looking into the background of the place, if it is reputable or not. Or just a place that just opened yesterday. If the employer has a time clock that pays at the end of each shift when you clock out, then that's a good system to go with :smileyhappy:

And there need to be permission gateways here. The current role structure, however, combine those two objectives in a way that seems unlikely to satisfy either of them. Yea I agree there An Award Badge of some sort.. That can be attached to their current badge... eh who knows....
  17. There are a lot of great places out there. A Lot miss out by not submitting their place for inclusion From the knowledge base :: Can Residents suggest their own venues for inclusion in the Destination Guide? Yes! Please visit the Destination Guide Suggestion Page. We value community input and encourage Residents to suggest their own venues.
  18. Still having the same issue eh? Did you try making your own cache folder and have SL use one other than the default location? If not I really think you should try.. Or try logging into a different location
  19. Eh I guess I dont really see too much with ranks It is good to see people who have reached Acheivment and ranking (but there is potential for trouble) I Answered a question in Answers the other day to help a resident, And the solution was good.. Several Minutes later a "contributer" came and answered the Question with my exact same solution lol.. He/she got the "Solution Points" and I didn't lol. Maybe that should change a bit lol Pretty funny
