  1. As far as I can tell, the most popular mesh head for child avatar is the Cute Byte head. If you haven't already tried that one, go inworld and find a demo, and try it on. Also try this one. That's not just a head, though, it's the whole avatar in one. You might like this skin. You might not. I don't know, but it looks vaguely similar to the ones you've posted. It works with the Cute Byte head only. That's the best I can do right now. Good luck.
  2. Synarii wrote: It's pretty safe to say fitting jeans are hard to come across. And this is why you'll often see these anthropomorphic avatars wearing long shorts or very baggy pants. The truth is, that type of avatar thankfully does work with a lot of clothes, but you are more limited than a human avatar due to what you've already noticed - namely, the legs! Sculpt or prim clothing, as long as it is modifiable, can be stretched and moved for a better fit. Mesh clothing cannot. Even mesh that is modifiable cannot not be resized or moved (well, unrigged mesh can, but is not used for most clothing). Modifiable mesh is nice because you can change the texture and/or add scripts, if you choose, but you still can't move it around. When it comes to mesh, try demos! Try them on WITH your deer avatar to see if things clip through in weird places or not. For sculpt or prim clothing, just make sure what you buy is mod AND copy (in case of mistakes). You'll probably end up sticking to shorts, for the most part. Also, check out clothing made for furry avatars with digitigrade legs - those might fit you better, even if they're not made for YOUR avatar, per se.
  3. Did you try the Cute Bytes head in the blog another poster sent you to when you asked before? Skin is hard to say - both photos are heavily tinted. Did you ask the owner of the avatar/photo? What did they say? Try the Cute Bytes mesh head, and if that's not it, try some other mesh heads; I have a feeling that your image is of a mesh head, not a standard system head, so shape doesn't matter as much. It's a Toddledoo avatar with some kind of compatible mesh head, at a guess.
  4. You'd probably get better results in the Avatar subforum, but you're not too far off. :smileywink: Go this way ---> http://meshbodyaddicts.com/ Mesh Body Addicts is a truly amazing blog for anyone looking into buying a mesh body, or really a number of other purposes. You'll find her review of most of the major body brands there, pros and cons, even reviews of the HUDS. When shopping for a mesh body, there are a few things to look for. Shape of the body overall is important, of course. Although mesh bodies will respond to standard shape sliders (so you can have wide or narrow hips, a big or small bottom, large or small breasts, and any other combination you can have with a standard avatar), each body has its own unique shape. Some have teardrop breasts, others more round, for just one example. Compare and contrast bodies by trying demos. HUD is also important. Alpha cuts - parts you can hide to help clothes fit - are super important! Too big, and they won't do much of anything for many outfits. You want lots of smaller cuts, not just a few big ones. Ease of use is important here, as well. TMP - The Mesh Project - is very lovely to look at, but not easy to use, so experiment. If you like bigger breasts, make sure you play with that slider while wearing the body to see if the breasts deform at larger sizes. Some do - this is a big complaint of Slink body users, but you may feel differently. My personal choice is Maitreya. Really, though, shop around for what works for you! You can still use individual body parts. There's nothing really wrong with them, per se, but I do find mesh bodies more versatile, and I don't feel "chopped up" into bits and pieces, with thirteen different appliers hanging around for a single outfit!
  5. Most of the "frequent flyers" here on the forums have been saying that since the mesh starters were released...They're just not customizable enough to be worth the trouble, and honestly, are more confusing than helpful for most residents.
  6. Nothing's going on with the marketplace, for me. It's working fine. In fact, I've made several purchases in the last hour or so, no trouble at all, which means it's probably a problem on your end, not LL's. Perhaps someone with more computer expertise can help figure out the computer issue. I know others have had trouble using SL with Windows 10, but I'm not sure if that typically extends to the marketplace.
  7. Would that be one of the new mesh starter avis? I never, ever recommend using the mesh starter avis. They're really not that good, and they're not very customizable. I'm surprised you've found clothes to fit it at all, actually. If it IS the starter avi, you can't hide the feet. They're there to stay, which is one of many reasons I don't recommend using those. Alpha layers only hide the default body, NOT any mesh body. For that, you need an alpha HUD, typically made for and included with your body. The starter mesh avis do no have alpha HUDS. (Actually, with a typical mesh body, you would wear shoes made for either the feet that came with the body, or Slink feet if the body is compatible with them) If you really want a mesh body, check out Mesh Body Addicts. There's no reason you can't use the default body, though. Play around and find what works for you.
  8. Contact the person you're renting from and let them know about the problem. They should help you fix it.
  9. Try asking the inworld support group. I think with both of the M3 heads you have a couple of presets for how "open" the eyes are (fully open, partially closed, mostly closed, fully closed), but not for changed the actual shape as far as I'm aware. The regular M3 head has large, round eyes; the Venus head has slanted, more narrow eyes. If you've seen a Venus head with even more narrow eyes, then the person you saw it on may have created an expression using a partially closed eye position. Note that the expression may have used a combination of eyebrow position, eye position, mouth position, etc. in order to create a natural looking expression. Experiment, and have fun!
  10. Mods, mods, and more mods. The kemono avatar is a niche market, but it's a popular niche market, so there's actually a lot available. The kemono avatar DOES respond to the hip width slider, so that helps. As you've found, chest mods for breasts also help. There are also butt mods, hip mods, belly mods...a lot of mods, actually. Blackheart is popular. They make all of the above. BB/MM is also popular for mods. In Marketplace (with all maturity options selected, so you can get as many results as possible), try typing "kemono" plus whatever part you want a mod for - "kemono butt," "kemono hips," etc. That should get you some decent results. Keep in mind that although most mods for kemono DON'T require special appliers - they should all work with the default skins and with any third-party kemono appliers - they DO require special clothes. Shop around before you commit, particularly if you're on a budget, to make sure you can dress your avatar.
  11. My personal preference is for Blackheart's Antigravity Boob Job. For smaller boobs - but not as small as the default on the kemono - they have another set, as well, in three sizes. As already mentioned, make sure you check what's available clothing-wise. Try demos, as the shapes and sizes do differ, and look for clothes.
  12. Depending what you're trying to do, I'm sure someone can help you. I don't have a TMP head, myself, but there are those here who do. You can also try contacting TMP customer support inworld, but I've heard they're not very good. Might still be worth a try. Also try asking the Skin Addiction group - the people there are usually very friendly and helpful. No, there is no way to get a refund. You bought it, you're stuck with it. Using it or not is up to you, but you won't get your money back. dope Zepp wrote: Do you think i should post complaint to Linden? No. They won't do anything. It's buyer beware; even if the product simply didn't work, they wouldn't help you. They have nothing to do with TMP - just like every other product sold in SL, they're entirely independent from LL.
  13. That may be why. LL doesn't want to let you "buy" anything until your account is paid up. Ask a friend to send you $8L - that's about four cents, USD. Heck, I'll be inworld in a few minutes; I'll send you $8L.
  14. Unless your $L balance is negative - which can happen due to an error or to group liabilities - you should be able to "purchase" freebies without any problems. Make sure all of the items in your cart are, indeed, free, and not dollarbies or "nearly free" items. Close the marketplace, reopen, and try the purchase again. 15. *sigh* People have been asking this since LL first announced a new platform. Here's what we know at the moment: There is no "new SL." LL is coming out with a new virtual world, but it is NOT, thus far, intended to replace SL. It's called Sansar (not SL 2, as so many say), and it'll go live eventually, but SL will stay up and running and no one will be "forced" to move, at least not for a while. There may come a time when keeping SL up is no longer worth it for LL, but as far as we know right now, SL will remain. Eventually - someday in the probably more distant future - SL will close. All good things must come to an end, after all. But you've got plenty of time, still!
  16. No, you do not HAVE to purchase a mesh head. I haven't done so, myself, and pretty much refuse to until a) my favorite skin creator releases more head appliers, and b) until mesh heads are more customizable or I can find one I like more than what's currently on the market. (Although Genesis Labs heads are GORGEOUS, but only available in Gachas, as far as I know...and again, my favorite skin creator doesn't make appliers!) If you choose to purchase a mesh head, I believe most/many of them work with at least some, if not all, mesh bodies. Again, check out that Mesh Body Addicts blog - she does some head reviews, which sometimes include which bodies are compatible. Otherwise, again, try demos! Try lots of demos. Try as many demos as you can get your hands on! They don't usually cost anything ($1L at most), and although they're not the full version of the product, they give you an amazing overview. There are lots of brands of mesh heads, just like there are lots of brands of mesh bodies. Slink, LeLutka, and TMP are among the most popular. Logo has some good ones, and like I said, Genesis Labs heads are absolutely stunning. But I really do suggest you familiarize yourself with the standard shape first, then venture out from there.
  17. I have to agree with Kelli. DON'T buy mesh parts first. Wait. For one thing, not everyone wants a mesh avatar. Not everyone will use a mesh avatar. Why buy the parts and then find out you don't want to use them? That's an awfully expensive bit of clutter in your inventory, if you're not going to use it. Explore the default avatar first. Decide what you want to look like, and get there using whatever means works for you. Personally, I bought a shape with a face that I liked, faces being the hardest part to edit, and then I edited the body into something that worked for me. I also made tweaks to the face to make it suit me better. Just make sure, if you buy a shape, that it's Mod/Copy, so you can make a copy, edit it, and have a back-up copy in case you're not happy with the changes! You can do this same thing by editing any of the Classic starter avis; I just found it personally easier and faster to buy something I sort of liked and edit it until I loved it. Once you've got a shape you like, you can check out mesh body demos. There are a lot of options, and in my opinion they are very different. Mesh Body Addicts is an amazing blog that not only tells/shows you what's out there, but also details many of the features, both good and bad. If you want a mesh body, check them out! Demo, demo, demo. (Note that even once you have perfected your base shape, you may want to edit it slightly to suit your mesh body, if you get one.) I do suggest that you get Slink hands and feet. Hands and feet are probably the two least attractive features on the default body. Many shoe creators are now creating mostly or solely for Slink feet, and the hands just...look better. A lot better.
  18. Continuation/duplicate of this thread. I would dearly love to know exactly what you expect us to do about it that we haven't already advised. You say any PC. This happens in exactly the same way using your PC? Try it, since you aren't having issues. Let her log into her avatar on your machine. Try logging in on her machine, and see if you experience what she's been experiencing. Unlike many issues in SL, there is really only one cause of this one. It's lag. Whether or not you want to believe us is your problem, but lag is pretty much the only cause of this. There ARE some contributing factors to lag other than a slow connection, though. What is she wearing? Her clothing and attachments could be causing some lag. Have her strip down nude (or nearly nude) - no attachments, no HUDS, just the basic skin, shape, eyes, and hairbase, and system layer clothes if she's self-conscious. If that helps, she's wearing too much. Also try going to a low-traffic sim - somewhere with no other people, or only one or two others max. See if that helps.
  19. You can make small edits to your shape yourself, but as you said, the skin affects the look and it'll probably never look exactly the same. Are you looking for a custom shape creator, or a custom skin creator? Shapes are (relatively) easy - we all have the same sliders. Skins are much harder. Expect to pay quite a hefty amount for a custom skin - which is what it sounds like you need. Try posting in the wanted forum for better responses.
  20. Did you ask the creator of the advertisement? The Greymark people might know, since they used them in the ad.
  21. KimmyBubbles wrote: ...and just looks generally like they don't belong on the body. That would be because they don't. Mesh bodies are not made to be worn with other mesh parts. (Or, rather, with anything but SOME mesh extremities. Heads, hands, and feet MAY work depending on the brand. Breasts, butt, belly - anything that goes on the torso/center of the avatar - not so much.) They just aren't, so they seldom get along. The best solution is to increase the size of the breasts of the mesh body by adjusting the sliders rather than trying to also use mesh breasts, but if that doesn't suit you, try asking inworld. The Lola clothing group people are a friendly bunch, and may have some advice. The Skin Addiction group are also a friendly bunch, incredibly helpful, and although your question is slightly off-topic, it doesn't hurt to ask. Many of them have experience with this sort of thing. Otherwise, you can try looking for mesh body users groups, mesh breast users groups, or even the actual customer support groups for your body or breasts. Any of those places will most likely have better advice than those of us here can give.
  22. You are billed for the maximum amount of land you hold during the billing period. Theoretically, you will not be billed for the land as long as the auction isn't settled before midnight SLT, since you won't actually hold the land until the beginning of your next billing cycle. It's a good idea to ask Live Chat or billing support, though.
  23. Only if it has a hide function built in or, as Pixie said, it's modifiable. Some objects, such as genitalia, have a "hide" option in the menu or HUD. You can use that if you don't want to detach the object. Most other objects do not have that function; it's not typically necessary.
  24. If you can't find it on the marketplace, try looking inworld. Not every creator is on the marketplace. I'm guessing that "tweeneedoo" is by the same people who make "toddledoo," so use inworld search for either of those two and see what comes up. You're looking for the people who sell the official mesh body. Keep in mind that with any mesh body, you won't be able to use most regular clothing. You'll need clothing - and skins - made for that specific avatar. IMO, the "tweeneedoo" avis I saw looked more like...well, tweens. Maybe ten or eleven years old. Styling helps, certainly, and of course some fourteen-year-olds look younger than others, so it all depends on what you like. How much smaller did you want to be, exactly? The default avatar can get pretty tiny. Try Penny Patton's Vitruvian shapes; they're full perm and can be copied and edited to your heart's content. The smallest is pretty darn small. You can also google "teen female proportions," "how to draw teen females," etc. for some decent information. Proportion goes a long way, and teens have different proportions than adults or children.
  25. How should I know? What happens when you try? Everyone in the Answers forum is a resident, just like you. None of us are Lindens - they never come here. We can only do our best to help you based on the information you provide which, in this case, isn't much. That being said, LL just updated some billing stuff, so delete and re-input your payment information and see if that works. If it doesn't, try calling: Have billing issues? Give us a call.
