  1. Another $1,000,000.00L buy that's been on the maret far longer https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/RLV-strip-poseball/3451504

Because you feel entitled to benefit from LL's price decrease and extra prims, although you have not been paying her tier all the years she has and didn't pay the $600US fee per sim LL charged to grandfather her sims?? Have you noticed ANY other merchant lowering their prices as a result?? I haven't. Do you know of many stores in RL that may negotiate a better lease with their landlord that lowered all their prices?? I doubt you can name many, if any, in SL or RL. Pam's prices are, and have always been, very reasonable already for the quality of her work and the time she has to spend creating it. They represent less than a penny on the dollar in RL money for hours and hours and hours of work. Perhaps Pam's lower costs will help her to not have to raise prices due to the costs she has to also pay in RL to continue her business, which have been rising all the time while she was charging about the same for her merchandise than she did a few years ago. The entitlement of some people in SL has always amazed me with their specious arguments. Yep that's what I meant to say Torrie, btw, is the person who thinks the prim bonus should benefit only tenants, and landowners not at all. Just like when I buy down four sims, there should be no benefit to me. One correction: Prices in SL, including mine, have been driven down significantly over the last 5-6 years, first by the freebie culture, then by the ability for non creators to open inexpensive mesh stores. I could smell the stench of entitlement all the way on this side of my computer. :smileywink:
  3. BTW, for future reference, you can't name and shame on this forum. That'll get your post deleted and yourself in trouble with the moderators.
  4. It doesn't look like it's a person sending an IM or notecard, but an object. You'll have to locate the object and block it or if it's on land you own or have the authority to do so, return it. Maybe it's something attached to you too. Look in your inventory at the worn tab, or type worn in search and see if you see anything you don't recognize.
  5. Do you know people are around you? Open your minmap and see if you see any green dots around you. If you don't then there is no one at your location. It could just be the time of day you're in world. Some places are active with lots of people, but only during times when it's popular for people to be logged on.You can check the destination guide or search for other places and/or look at the regular map for places where there are other people (green dots) and TP there. If you see green dots in your immediate vicinity then it just may take time for people to rez and show up on your screen. If after a while you still see no one, come back and edit your post and tell us.
  6. FIrst you have to realize sometimes people make mistakes and forget to put the product in the box. So assume that is the case to start with and send a polite note to the merchant and explain what happened and ask for them to send the product to you. Give them some time to respond. Merchants are RL people too and have RL issues, such as getting sick or having other RL emergencies that prevent them from logging in. Since it's the holiday's they maybe traveling and not able to get into SL. If you don't hear anything back in a few days, try again. Chances are you'll get your product. If after a week, and you still don't hear anything just move on. There are a very few sellers on MP that will sell an empty box, but there are a few. You can flag the listing under not as advertised to have it removed. You can file an AR too, but it's not going to force the seller to give you your merchandise or refund your money. Under the SL TOS it's buyer beware and chances are LL will not do anything.
  7. FIrst you need to have the script get the creator then listen for the answer to who the creator is then compare the two. The script can get the creator using llGetCreator, or you can tell it who the creator is using string creator = <name of the creator>; then have a listen event then compare the answer to the correct name if (message = creator){llsay(0,"that is correct ");}else { llSay(0,"that is not correct");}
  8. In addition to Lindal's answer... It is a good idea to have the mesh bodies you are creating for to test your clothing that you do create to make sure it fits correctly without clipping. You can go to the various creators shops and purchase the body, which you may need to model the clothing of marketing anyway, or if you don't plan on that, at least getting the demo's which you can use for testing purposes. If you do make appliers then I am not sure that demos respond to them. So in that case you may need to purchase your own bodies or give the appliers to friends who use those bodies to put them on to see if the clothing looks the way you intend it to. But you can also check with the creators to see if demos will work for this purpose.
  9. The correct way to use that is llGetInventorycreator(<name of item in the edit contents of the prim the script is in>); not the UUID of the Avatar If you are trying to get the creator of the object that the script is in, that's not going to work. If that is what you are trying to do see this: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/llGetCreator

  11. Sometimes viewer or server lag causes things not to load quickly or not to load at all and/or for the buy or pay button not to highlight. All you can do is try again or try later. You are right to not attempt to buy something that doesn't load for you in the time you have. During the holidays like it is now, a lot of people are off work and can log in when they can't otherwise. There are a lot more people on line as a result and the servers must work a lot harder than usual. Just about everyone has more lag than they normally do when everyone is at work and not logged in. If this is constant problem for you and you have good internet but use a wifi connection, switch to a cable. SL doesn't recommend or even support a wifi connection.
  12. I'm afraid that you will have problems running SL because SL's graphics demands require you to have a separate rather than an integrated GPU, which I assume you have, since you didn't give specific information about your computer. Desktops are better than laptops too, as even the gaming laptops run hot in SL which can effect how long you can stay logged in and how long the laptop will last period. If you set your draw distance as low as you can stand, decrease the number of avatars rendered, and set your graphics low, you'll have better luck. If you are using wifi connection to your internet, change to a cable too. LL does give some guidance, but it is dated, IMO. I have a desktop with a cutting edge processor and the max ram SL uses, that is relatively new, but even so just upgraded to the top of the line Nvidia Geforce card myself, to keep up with all the new tech and to be able to run at ultra high with minimum lag. Here is the LL 'guidance' https://secondlife.com/my/support/system-requirements/index.php?lang=en-US There are a number of very knowledgeable people here on the forum that can offer better guidance. If you are thinking about upgrading your computer (if that's even possible), post your system specs here for suggestions, which you can easily get by going to Help>About in your viewer. You don't have to log in to get these. If you are thinking about replacing what you have, give us an idea of your budget for suggestions of how best to spend your money.
  13. What you say is still true. You have to purchase the mainland for whatever the seller wants for it, but once you do, the monthy tier will be included in your premium membership. There will be no extra charge. Note that you will be billed for tier though if you own more than 512sqm for even one second during the previous month. So if you want to purchase mainland, you must abandon your Linden Home prior to actually buying the land, if you don't want to pay the $5.00US for the extra 512sqm of land that you'd be billed if you don't. If you have another account that is premium you can form a group with your alt and have your alt donate their 512sqm of land to the group and buy a 1024sqm parcel, and not have to pay tier on it. Also group owned land can own 10% more land for no extra tier. So your group can own up to 1126sqm of land tier free. Form the group first then buy the land for the group rather than just as an individual. It will be an option when you click the 'Buy Land'. Unlike Linden homes, any house you put on your land will count towards your LI allotment, whereas a Linden home does not.
  14. Since you are a new resident you are restricted as to how many $L's you can buy. This is to prevent people from Money Laundering by creating a new avatar, buying a lot of $L's and then selling them right away. This page linked to below shows the limits and when and how much you can buy. Note that the first day is not the day you created your account, but the first day you bought $L's. https://secondlife.com/my/lindex/describe-limits.php
  15. Your viewer's cache may be corrupted and not replacing the skin. It happens. Clear your cache under Preferences>Network and relog. If you still don't see your things right, do a clean re-install of your viewer. Here is how to do that https://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-Second-Life/ta-p/1375231 The link provided is for the official SL viewer, but also works for third party viewers. You viewer name will be substituted for the SL viewer name.
  16. No. She probably put it up for sale herself then had seller's remorse when you bought it as opposed to someone else. There is nothing she can do about it now, as all sales are final. If she hassles you about it simply block and ban her from your land, which would be a good idea anyway since she's nasty to you. Edited to add: I saw your original question on Answers where you gave more information. The answer for your situation is right. You really only rent land from a private estate owner as you pay them the tier and they have the right under the TOS to evict you at any time. You only 'own' land when you pay your tier to LL. Under your circumstances, I agree with the answer you got previously Just move as you're in a no win situation. Perhaps you'll get lucky enough that they'll refund any money you paid for the parcel, but don't count on it. The GF will continue to hassle you as she sees you as a threat to her relationship with the BF. I'd still block and ban her from any land you eventually do own and him too if he hassles you. The BF may eventually kick her to the curb but I really don't think he's your friend because of the way he's acting so I'd be very cautious about renewing the friendship in the future even if he does get rid of her and apologizes. In the future please don't post the same question twice to avoid confusion and also because it pushes other people's questions down the list and they may not get answered as promptly, which isn't fair. If one answer you get doesn't work for you or you don't like it, somone else with a different one may post. You can also always edit your post to include more information if necessary.
  17. You may get better results by choosing "hear voice from avatar position' if you are mostly near the group talking, or 'hear voice from camera positon' if you use your camera to zoom in on whoever is speaking in the area. I ususally use the avatar position one since I'm near people speaking that I want to hear.
  18. It should work. Maybe it's a glicth in the viewer. You'll get a faster response form the Firestorm Support Group in world. There are Firestorm support people that monitor the chat in the group. Although being the holidays they may not be on line all the time.
  19. When searching, enter NOT Gatcha, NOT GATCHA, NOT DEMO, NOT Demo, with your keywords to eliminate most of them.
  20. Good question. You can call billing and ask them for a definitive answer. Unless someone here has done that, and very few avi's of that age come here and fewer still have done this, I doubt anyone here knows for sure. Billing support phone numbers: Toll-Free (US/Canada) 800.294.1067 Long-Distance 703.286.6277 The Billing team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 21. The white dot indicates that voice is enabled. That means that everyone with the white dot can hear you when you voice and you can hear them if your dot appears. It doesn't necessarily mean that everyone that has the white dot can voice though, as a lot of people want to hear voice but can't voice themselves for various reasons, such as noisy kids on the room, people asleep in the house that might be disturbed, or a broken mic, among others. This is a good thing, since it makes you aware when people can hear you if you want privacy in a coversation you are having. You can only 'get rid of it' by disabling voice.
  22. A group can own a total amount of land whose area equals 110% or less of the sum of all group contributions. Note that you can't deed Linden homes to a group, only set it to a group. All other mainland, including Horizons, can be bought or deeded to a group you and/or your partner have. Read more here about group owned land.
  23. Apparently LL raked in enough money from Horizon parcels auctions (many going for ridiculously high prices) to give them incentive to do another project like it.
  24. Even if you don't use high resolution textures, if you are making homes, it should be mod so that the owner can texture them to please themselves. A lot people will like the house but want to change a wallpaper choice you made to go better with their furnishings or just because they prefer another. Limiting this by making your home no mod limits your market, since a lot of people will not buty no mod buildings.
