  1. The easiest way to do that is for the person to is remove all attachements then put them back on one by one until the same thing occurs. That last item is the culprit.

Not posts to vanishing threads appear there, only vanishing posts to non-vanishing threads and not all of those either. In addition to the four psots I mentioned, I've had two posts removed for what I have to admit were justifiable reasons. Onece was when LL launched VMM before they had an official viewer that supported it. (I still stand by what I wrote in that post but yes, there are some things you just don't say in public no matter how true it is ) The second time was the 1,003,231st time somebody asked about "SL2" and I simply replied by repeating "there is no such thing as SL2" over and over again. Anyway, one of those posts was deleted completely (and I actually got a rather nice PM from the moderator about it). The other post were moved to the super secret section. So obviously there are different routines for it. Well that's interesting because all my posts in the "super secret section" are from vanished threads but not all my posts from vanished threads are there. None were deleted individually. The whole thread disappeared.
  3. Make sure you aren't wearing the Demo instead of the one you bought. If you're sure, contact the creator of the skin. Obviously they made a mistake packaging the skin and should be glad you reported it and send the right one. Be polite when you contact the creator as it probably was an honest mistake. Also look at their profile to see if they prefer a particular way to contact them or if they have a customer rep to contact. Note that creators are people too and some don't log in everyday or have RL issues, such as illness or out of town travel etc. that may prevent them from logging in for a while. So be patient. If you don't get a reply in a few days, send another message in case they didn't get your first. Most of the time in my experience, they'll promptly replace the item that was not packaged correctly. They generally are grateful that you reported it so they can correct it in the vendor too. I've even had some give me a freebie or a part rebate as a thank you.
  4. If what you want is sold on the Marketplace, then select "Add to Cart as a Gift" on the right hand side of the product description. You will then get a box to put in the name of the person. Be sure to use their user name not a display name and type the name exactly as it appears in their profile. You can just copy and paste it to be sure. You'll then get a box to add a message to send with the gift. You can type one there or not. When done, the item will be in your cart. Proceed to checkout when you are done shopping and check once again you have the right name. Then check out. If you put the wrong name in it won't be delivered or if another avatar has that name then that person will get it. The person that winds up with it is not obligated to send it to the right person or to you. The merchant that sells the item isn't obligated to send another one to the correct person unless you pay for it again. That's why it's important to double check the name. If it's sold in world some vendors have the ability to send items a a gift. You should see a button on the vendor for this or if you touch the vendor it may give you a menu where giving a gift is an option. The same thing applies about being sure to use the correct user name.
  5. If the mesh avatar was intended to be modified, or is full perm, look in the edit contents of the item. The UV or AO map might be there.
  6. If you use Firestorm, cam down into the dome then type in chat "tp2cam" without the parenthesis.
  7. Not the script forum. That's for getting help with a script you are working on. Put your request in the Inworld Employment section. That's where scripters looking for work go.
  8. Perrie Juran wrote: Then there is always the Super Secret Hidden From View Unmoderated Posts section. Interestly not all my posts to vanishing threads appear there.
  9. Maybe it's not a bug. Maybe only the person on the profile can give out a calling card to anyone else for privacy reasons. If that's true then I can see why you can't embed one in a notecard, since you may distribute the notecard.
  10. hmmm... Maybe I'm to blame for one thread vanishing. Rather than repeat a lot of information about a SL game to answer questions the OP had I put a link to their website in my reply. Bring on the wet noodles.
  11. I thought geek was the new sexy. :smileyvery-happy: Anyway, I'm proud of being a geek so I'm not insulted in the least. To be a geek you have to be smart.
  12. The forums have been wacko lately. I've had to sign in again just about everytime I try to answer a thread, but not consistently. When I type and answer I get a message about an Authnetication problem with the thread almost immediately, and many time have to finish my answer, then copy it, open the thread again, hit answer againd then paste it for it to take, again not consistently. Sometimes when I backpage it takes me to the blogs and not to the last page. Other stuff too that I can't remember right off. So it just may be another wacko problem they have with the software that runs the forum. You could file a ticket about it to see what LL says.
  13. entity0x wrote: My main question about Sansar is.. what the hell is an 'experience' exactly.. Nice buzzword, but doesn't help me visualize how this will work at all.. Is it an IMVU-like environment, closed off, or will it be somewhat visually connected, like the mainland is now, where you can fly around hitting ban lines everywhere and such? From what I understand listening to Linden interviews and reading.... LL will only be renting server space to "experience" creators, other than probably a few LL sponsored experiences, such as a welcome/orientation area. There will be no mainland and no renting direct from LL unless you are renting server space. An experience creator could be a game developer, a university, some type of RL comercial interest, or someone wanting offer a virtual world experience, or just an average joe. There won't be any sims as we know them in Sansar. An 'experience' can be visually small or large depending on how the creator configures it. It can be private, in that only certain people can go there, like a single residence estate or corporate conference room, semi-private, as in a number of residences and access is only for residents and their invited guests, or public like a game, store, club, a city or town. It may be free to go there, a one time charge , or maybe even a subscription fee where you can go for a set time period for one charge. The person who rents the server space will have complete control over their 'experience'. They can build it out all themselves, hire someone to do it, or construct it using items they buy from creators on some kind of market place. They can set their own prices, whether that's for entering or subleasing space in their experience. In SL terms, think of the person who rents the server space as the estate owner. People who sublease a space for a home, shop, club, classroom, conference space etc. from this person as tenants. I have no idea if tenants can set entrance or subscription fees, I guess that'll be up to the owner. It will be up to them also, if tenants can build out their 'space' or everything is provided for them. You won't be able to TP around between all the various experiences as we can in SL. You'll have to log into each one, unless the owner or owner(s) of two or more experiences allow you to travel between them somehow by TP, walking through, or even riding a vehicle. Perhaps you'll only have to enter your Sansar password once to get to the website where all the experiences are shown and be able to go to your choice from there, but the owner's of the experience may also be able to require you to log in if say they charge a subscription fee to enter. It's just not been made clear yet as far as I know. Not a peep about pricing has been released yet, as to how much server space will cost, or the sizes of spaces available. It's supposed to start at a lot less than what LL charges for a region though. I have no idea if there is any measurement like LI in SL, but I am sure there will be some way of measuring max capacity for the server space rented. But from what I understand that won't have any bearing on the visual space someone sees in your 'experience'. I say visual space as an experience doesn't even have to have virtual land. If anyone knows of anything different from what I have said above or can clarify any unknowns, please post what you've heard.
  14. As far as I know there are no hangers for rent at Fruit Islands unless they've added them. It's all strictly residential other than the marina, the concert area, and a few other common areas. Even in the marina there you have to be a resident to dock a boat there, if they do have hangers now you probably have to be a resident to use them.
  15. Hit ctrl+alt+d will show the advanced menu. A choice on that menu is to show the developer menu.
  16. Fruit Islands is for residents and their guests if accompanied by a resident. So if you have a friend that lives there they can take you. Otherwise, you will be asked to leave and if you don't you'll be ejected and maybe banned. The owners or estate agents are on duty most of the time and monitor the estate for people that don't qualify to be there, unless you are looking at parcels for sale there.
  17. We are only volunteer residents here no Lindens read this. We have no access to your account records. You should contact billing to find out where your $L's are. 18. Be sure to examine her profile and see if she says to contact her by notecard, IM or a different email address than the one she gave in that note. Then follow her directions. If you didn't do this when you contacted her after your original email didn't work, she may not have gotten your message. As ClariceRose said be patient when you contact a creator in world. They are people too and sometimes have RL issues that prevent them from logging in for a white. Be sure when you do send your message you also include the transaction information from your order history showing proof of purcase. Most merchants are honest and want satisfied customers. So don't automatically assume that because you didn't get as prompt an answer as you wanted you were ripped off.
  19. Sanguine Silverfall wrote: Ugh... next time do it at EU midday... since most of the world is at work or asleep.... Not in the evening... t.t Most LL employees don't work at that time. They only have a skeleton crew on then. Besides, no matter what time they do it, some one will be inconvenienced. Between North and South America, there are probably more users than European users too. Don't forget there are a lot of South Americans in SL, especially from Brazil.
  20. The answer is yes, if I understand you correctly. You want to use a script so a prim face displays 150+ 1024x1024 textures in order so it looks like it's animated. However it could cause a lot of lag for the observer of the prim and it may take a long while for all those textures to rez, because each texture has to download to the observer's viewer. So use the lowest resolution texture you can. 512 x 512 or lower would be much better. Also the fewer total textures you use the better. Experiment to get the best result with the lowest lag.
  21. You can search events from time to time for them. I've seen them listed there before.
  22. This section is for asking questions about SL itself. We do not provide support for products made by other residents because there are too many of them out there and it is impossible to be expert in all of them. Your best bet is to contact the creator, their customer service reps or join their support group, if they have one, and ask for support there.
  23. When you but Lindens you buy from other residents not LL. If you chose a Best Rate Buy (Limit Buy) that allows you to specify the amount of Linden dollars and the exchange rate you are willing to accept. LindeX automatically matches up buy and sell offers as they come in. If your offer is too high it could take hours, days, weeks, or months or even never, before you get any $L's. You can cancel the Limit buy and the money will go to your US dollar balance. You can cancel it on the LindeX: Transaction History page on you web dashboard. Click Manage on the sidebar then choose LindeX Order History to get to that page. You can then use Market Buy to get Lindens almost instantly.
  24. I doubt that this is a problem with your avatar account. It's most likely the vehicles themselves. If you can, reset the scripts in the vehicles. If that doesn't work, and they are copy, contact the creator to get new copies. It could be the scripts were corrupted. You could try other vehicles to see if that works for you, perhaps a friend has one that has the ability to allow other pilots. If you can't resolve the issues with the vehicles you have and another vehicle works, you'll just have to replace the ones you have.
  25. Google Fish Hunt to find their website about how to earn $L's and redeem your points for them. If you joined a group and it's in your group list you don't need to join again and the join button will be gone. The message you get probably is just a generic message everyone gets when they visit the fishing site. Some groups that may be new to you might be set to join by invitation only. Some venues, particularly clubs, that support the prize money for fish hunt may want you to actually go to the club rather than just come for fishing and you have to so a host or staff member can invite you to the group.
