  1. Did you try to relog again? If so, that should have fixed it unless your viewer was damaged in the crash. If you still don't see your things right, do a clean re-install of your viewer. Here is how to do that https://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-Second-Life/ta-p/1375231 The link provided is for the official SL viewer, but also works for third party viewers. You viewer name will be substituted for the SL viewer name.
  2. Why are you uploading a "simple" box when you can create one in world? Is it mesh? If so it may be the way you made the mesh or mapped it for textures. Edited to add: If you want 2 boxes to make one prim, simple rez a box in world, set it to convex hull under the features tab in the edit box and then link them together. They'll be only one prim when linked.

I don't think there are any rule prohibiting that but there is still a maximum number of avatars allowed in a sim. It would be really interesting to see what LL would do in a case like that. I assume the OP has permission to create all those alts and that he didn't follow Lindal's incorrect answer in the thread Theresa mentioned. (For the record: Linden Lab's official alt policy states that you can have up to five alts per household, not per email address: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Alt_account_policies ) .... A club doesn't have to be a dance club or night club. A group can have a place to hang out like a club house, which is obviously what he's using it for. This is not a residential use. There aren't any rules but you can AR for abuse of resources, which is what is going on here obviously from the complaints he's getting.
  4. One thing I've noticed occasionally is that ridiculously priced land is often for rent too. I think that some landlords do this not to sell the land but to put it in land search to give them added free advertising for their rental. If they do end up selling at the ridiculous price they lose nothing and laugh all the way to the bank. They then use part of the proceeds to buy other land they can do this with. People wanting land see the listing want to know what's so special TP there to find out then find it for rent at a much more reasonable price. Someone will eventually rent it, since after all it's such a 'prime' parcel for such a reasonable rental amount. :smileyvery-happy:
  5. A land owner pricing parcels at what he thinks they are worth = "random numbers"? If you don't think a property is worth what is being asked for it, just don't buy it. If you can't find a property in a location you like for what you think one is worth (which must be random numbers that you just made up), your obviously wrong about what property in that location is worth. Sounds to me like sour grapes due to a failed search for the kind of land you want for a price you can afford to pay.
  6. Is this a DJ or radio stream that you had been listening too? You should be able to turn it off on the upper right section of your viewer screen. There are icons there, the second one turns the music off and on. If that doesn't fix it a relog will.
  7. Happy New Year to You too, and all on the Forum!
  8. The characters are call ASCII characters. You can just copy and past one's that you see that you like or get a notecard of them on the MarketPlace for very little money. You can also look them up on the internet to copy and paste them, however SL doesn't support them all. The links are put in a profile using HTML markup language. Google it to find out specifically how to do what you want to do. Note however that it's a very bad idea to click on such a link as some take you to phishing sites. I never do so I doubt you'd get a lot of click throughs.
  9. Myself, I plan to invest in bento items, but at a later time when there is more choice and better offerings. I and many others not enamoured of the early offerings and I am sure they will improve as time goes on and designers gain experience. I'd feel like I was wasting my money right now. Even when I do invest, such of a club would hold no interest for me. I not only don't think such a club is necessary but it seems pretty snobbish too, like you think early adapters are better than anyone else who hasn't spent a lot of money on the early bento offerings. Some won't be able to at all, due to limited budgets or just don't want to for a number of valid reasons. I doubt any experienced club owner, that likely would make a club a success, wants to invest in a club which so severely limits clients like that either. The other question is how will you keep 'undesirables' out? Do you plan to personally inspect each body and head before allowing them to join your 'exclusive' club group? If someone is missing a head or the 'right' animations will that disqualify them? Men are slower to adapt to this kind of thing than fashionista women. So I predict a severe shortage of males that want to join. Also, what about a couple where one partner is all bentoed out while the other isn't? Do you expect them to want to join? Of course you are free to invest your own money in such a club, if it's such a good idea. Very soon most everyone will be able to see bento animations and bodies, so there is no need to put up artificial walls for people that can't right now. SL doesn't need more divisions of the community into have and have not's.
  10. Write down the avatar's user name, email address, answers to security questions and password on a list in RL. Easier still is to take a screen shot of each registration as you register.
  11. LOL, you are no lawyer as Karen has fully demonstrated. Pixels are not people and RL laws, criminal or civil, rarely apply to pixels. The TOS, which everyone has to agree to in order to even go in world says in section 6 "You are solely responsible for your interaction with other users of the Service, whether online or offline. We are not responsible or liable for the conduct or content of any user. We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to monitor or become involved in disputes between you and other users." What's missing from your diatribe is the responsibility of the 'victim' to use the tools that LL gave us, IE: block/ban/derender. It works, I know from experience. However a lot of people continue to react to the harasser and that just removes any blocks and encourages them to continue because all they want is the attention, whatever the motive is. If they don't get it they go away. There is also the option to leave SL if it's so horrible. Bottom line is that LL is not mommy.
  12. RazealKresh2010 wrote: I understand this, but If I can't use this house, then what's the point? I'm not looking to cause trouble, but it seems more like LL's problem. No it isn't. It's just the technology. The servers can only handle so much at a time. The 'problem' exists on any sim on the grid with homesteads much more restrictive, since their limit is set at 20 as a default. If you have a big crowd at your house frequently the only fair thing to do is rent or buy land that supports that number of people. In your case at least full prim sim for an average of 20 to 40 people. If you buy land on the mainland, you can abandon your Linden home before you purchase the land and get the first 512sqm tier free. If you form a group and some of your friends contribute their free 512sqm tier to the group than the free tier amount increases. As a bonus groups that own mainland can own 10% more tier free. So for each 512sqm donated, you get 563sqm free tier.
  13. Check your trash to see if you didn't accidently delete it. If not, it could be your viewers inventory file has been corrupted. Clear your cache and re-log into a water region with nothing on it. Don't do anything. Don't IM, Voice walk around etc. Just let your inventory rebuild itself. 14. If you bought the item in the last 32 days the transaction history will show up on your dashboard under Account>$L Transaction History. I'd check there first before bothering the creator as many want you to send that information to them before they'll do anything, if there is no re-delivery terminal.
  15. There is no hard limit. However a sim only holds so many people and if your parcel is holding more than it's "fair" share then other people can't TP or log into their houses or have their own guests over. Also avatars are a frequent cause of lag when there are a lot around, so your immediate neighbors may be experiencing undue lag. Neither situation is fair to the other home owners. If it continues, then they may complain to LL who will step in to make sure everyone can enjoy their property which they are entitled to.

Which of the above has highlighted that MP buyers don't understand the listing requirements? Which of the above has demonstrated on several occasions that LL staff de-list compliant listings erroneously? Which of the aboe highlighted poor design of the MP solution? The pose ball is the answer to all of the above. Someone would have to be truely insane to buy the Putin picture, and not only due to the price.
  17. Any parcel of land can hold a sky platform. So you can rent land and put a platform up for your group, but need to put it as high or higher than the covenant says. Some people stack platforms one on top of another but far enough apart that regular chat and sounds don't intrude on the parcels of other renters. These platforms can be all sizes and as big as a sim. Some will be landscaped and hold buildings, other just the platform. They all have prim limits less that the prim limit of the parcel that they are on because the available prims are divided among the platforms. You also can't control media through the land tools or stream your own music there. You can use shared media though. One thing to watch out for is if the covenant or rental agreement restricts what type of venue you can have on your land or platform and how high the platform must be. Generally residential sims do not allow group hangouts. So look for commercial or mixed use sims and read the covenant or rental agreement carefully. Note that a full prim sim is set to hold 40 people by default and a homestead is set to hold 20 by default. The estate owner can raise the limit but won't necessarily do so. If you have 20 people at a time on you platform, and you haven't rented a parcel big enough to hold that many, then potentially other renters will not be able to tp or log into their parcels and that will result in complaints to the estate owner and possible eviction for you. So be sure to check not only the covenant or lease agreement to see if you can have a hangout there but check with the estate owner to see what they say is the limit for the number of people you can have on your parcel at one time.
  18. Copying some one's avatar is not against the TOS unless a part that is copied was created as an original by you and copied without permission. Most people put together their avatar by buying all the parts either together or separately. If you buy the together than as pointed out any one else can buy on too. Even if you put it together from separate parts you bought some one else can buy the same parts to put theirs together, although this is less likely. Guessing where you come from is not against the TOS either. However, telling some one else any personal information about you is against the TOS. Telling you what your personal information is I assume is ok since you already know it and no confidence is divulged. Some one can get your IP address and then look up where you are. Anyone streaming, such as a DJ, can get an IP address. It's not a secret as your address is known by every web site you visit and can only be used to find the general area of your location. (I looked up mine out of curiousity and it gave a location miles away from where I live.) Even so an IP address may not have been used and the guy may have made a lucky guess that was pure luck or by picking up clues such as how you talk, your time zone, even weather where you live in RL. etc I'm afraid LL will do nothing in response to your AR's and there is nothing you can do about either situation.
  19. Well you can start by telling us what kind of computer you have, what kind of grahics card, your CPU, amount of ram etc. Your computer may not be able to run SL at all. We can't offer any advice to you without knowing your computer specs. Please do not create a new post to add additional information. Edit your original post instead. You can edit your post to add additional information by logging in to the web site, going to the post you want to edit, then clicking "Options" at the top right of the post and choosing edit.
  20. This section is for asksing questions about SL itself. We do not provide support for products made by other residents because there are too many of them out there and it is impossible to be expert in all of them. Read the instruction notecard that came with the product. If you didn't get instructions or don't understand them, you best bet is to contact the creator, their customer service reps or join their support group, if they have one, and ask for support there.
  21. Triplicate post of https://community.secondlife.com/t5/Account/I-cannot-try-demo-and-rez-stuff/qaq-p/3090505 Please do not post the same question more than once. It pushes other people's questions further down the list and they don't get answered as fast which is not fair. Instead if you need to add new informtion, you can edit your post to add additional information by logging in to the web site, going to the post you want to edit, then clicking "Options" at the top right of the post and choosing edit. Since you didn't supply new information with this post, you need to go back and read the answers you got to your first post and tell us if you have tried everything that was suggested there. If you have, edit that post and supply the information requested about your system. Also tell us specifically what's happening as your question isn't very helpful to figure out what's going on. Are you not seeing the buy or pay button highlight? Is the list of things in the contents of what you are buying showing? Are you crashing? etc. etc. etc.... We can't help you further without this informatoin.

  23. This one is funny in a 'wtf are they thinking????' way. The picture says "Only $600L" but the MP price is $150,000. You'd think that for what they are charging they could have spared the time to update the picture when they inflated the price. Makes you wonder how lazy they were scripting the damn thing! https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Emergency-Phones-Boxed/6466472

  25. Well it's always possible that LL has changed a message for that circumstance that is a bit more clear and friendly. Basically the message said the problem was the connection to the region. So did you log into a new region? It's possible if you did that region was having the same issue. Just on the off chance it's a connection problem on your end and you continue to get that message no matter what region you log into see this: http://blog.nalates.net/2011/10/26/troubleshoot-your-sl-connection/
