  1. Hi Everyone! I just wanted to pop in here really quickly to thank everyone who attended yesterday and to apologize to those that were not able to get into the regions (we may have set a record for largest user group attendance!). I also wanted to let you all know that if Tommy and I did not get to your question yesterday, it did not go unnoticed. The volume of questions and concerns you all brought to that meeting spoke volumes to your dedication to and admiration of Second Life and the various communities you represented. And, although it felt a little warm up on that stage, it was extraordinary to see this outpouring of concern and I was happy to have been in that hot seat. It's going to take us a bit to go through the questions we were not able to answer right away, and I have a few ideas on how to continue conversations that I will be working through in the next few weeks. Mostly, I wanted to say that even though Tommy and I weren't able to address every question they were seen and will be considered with updates made to the FAQ page as we are able. I only ask that you extend the same patience you showed with us yesterday while we work through these questions and concerns. I promise you, we are listening, we are reading and we are focused on doing what is right to protect all of our communities.
  2. Hi Cristiano, this was addressed in the first blog post. Specifically "As owner of Linden Lab, I have initiated a thorough investigation, both internally and with external partners, to review whether or not there have been any violations of our company and community policies by employees, contractors, or community members. " Today's blog post is the result of the conclusion of those investigations.
  3. Hi πŸ‘‹ I'll be answering questions as I can here in the thread or adding to the FAQ
  4. Hi all! I'm gonna admit that I haven't read every comment on here yet but I will be doing so shortly and responding where I can. Just a few things first: The only change to the Terms and Conditions is the update to the Child Avatar Policy The FAQ is a living doc, which means we know it is in no way complete right now. As questions come up here and through Support, we'll be adding more questions and answers to hopefully help clarify some of the changes.
  5. Hi @Cain Maven Firstly, let me say that I am glad you were able to resolve this issue in a secure manner. I completely understand your trepidation at responding to an email with sensitive information such as your SSN, and I would have been suspicious of that as well. My apologies for the discomfort this caused you, and I have worked with the Tilia team about this and we have put in place an improved practice going forward so that we can create a better, more secure path forward when issues such as this arise. Linden Lab is dedicated to handling personally identifiable information in a safe, secure manner and ensuring that our processes align with the highest standards of data protection to keep our Residents protected. I appreciate you bringing this up, and don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have further questions on this issue.
  6. sshhhhh, don't give away my tactics. πŸ˜†
  7. Hey y'all! For those of you wondering where we all are .... here we are. 😜
  8. Hi axxya, We have some maintenance going on today, so that may have interfered with your ability to log in. Please try to log in again, and if you are still having difficulty reach out to our support team and they can look into the issue for you.
  9. Hi folks, First, let me clarify something that has been said here. Linden Lab does not have any kind of an agreement with BonnieBots. Patch and I had a productive meeting with the creators yesterday to share ideas and provide some insight. From that meeting, they then decided which path to take on their project. As has been mentioned before, out of respect for all concerned in the matter, I turn your attention to reviewing the policy at stake, and understand that we will enforce this policy: Information You Provide when Using our Services. Please note that our Services may offer chat functions (either one-to-one or within a limited group) or other forms of communication services (such as real time voice communication either one-to-one or within a limited group), forums, community environments (including multiplayer gameplay) or other tools that are either restricted to other account holders or Services users or that do not have a restricted audience and can be accessible by anyone. Any information, content or communications, including personal information, you provide when you use any of these features will be available to the recipients (dependent on the nature of the tool) and may be publicly posted and otherwise disclosed without limitation as to its use by us or by a third party. While we endeavour at all times to protect the privacy of our users and to ensure no harm is caused through our Services, given the nature of the tools, we have no obligation to keep private any information you made available to other users or the public using these functions. Should you have any concerns about the security of your personal information, please file a support ticket so that your concern can be addressed. As far as the forums are concerned, this topic has been discussed and addressed. Further attempts to create new threads will be locked as well, as per the Forum Guideline on reopening previously locked topics.
  10. Hi all, I understand some are upset by what they are seeing on the BonnieBots website. Let me assure you that all the information they are displaying is accessible via lsl script call or openly available information on various web pages. In other words, this is public information and has been for quite some time. Nothing that is discoverable in this manner is considered personally identifiable information. If you have something on your Profile you do not wish others to know, you should remove it at this time. As has been pointed out, land owners have the ability to restrict access to private areas via the land management tools. If you are concerned about the safety of your account, please enable MultiFactor Authentication. The steps to do so can be found here: accounts.secondlife.com/mfa/status And, as always, if you believe anyone has broken the Terms of Service, please file an Abuse Report so that we may investigate the situation. We are in communication with the owner of this system to ensure all it adheres to all requirements and will now be closing this thread.
  11. Hi TimKoul, Actually, anyone affected was contacted by the Support team via email several weeks before we ran the automated process, in addition to the posts on the Blog, SL University, and social media. As hoarders of inventory ourselves, we completely understand the anxiety this type of operation can invoke, so we did our best to get the word out in as many places as we could as quickly as possible. If you weren't contacted by Support (and be sure to check your email Spam folder to be sure), then you were not affected and the repair would not be run on your account at this time. As others have suggested, missing inventory can be from several different causes, so contacting Support is the best way to see if there any help we can offer. I hope that helps to shed some light on how we approached this. As always, Support is more than happy to answer any questions you may have. And we're a little more reliable than the rumor mill. 😁
  12. Hi Prokofy, Apologies if that was wasn't clear, but Abuse Related issues cannot be addressed by Support via Live Chat, Phone or Support Ticket. Abuse Reports are needed for this and these do go to the Governance Team to review. As you said, in cases where you can't get the owner of the objects name for the report (such as when particles are floating through the entire region), using Governor Linden is best. In these cases, the location and screen shot of the offending objects are important. When Governance comes out to clean it up, they can get the name of the owner at that time and complete their investigation after things are cleaned up and back to normal again. Otherwise, if it's just one or a few objects, it's best to make sure you have the correct owners name, just in case the object is gone by the time Governance has the chance to come out and take a look.
  13. Hi squin! Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your inventory. Please reach out to our support team (https://support.secondlife.com/) so that they can help resolve that issue for you.
  14. Hi all! So, yes, the process will not actually run until June 21. We wanted to give those Residents affected time to organize/reorganize their inventories before we ran our process. Support is also reaching out directly to Residents affected so we can offer some assistance before that date. If you don't hear from us, then you are not affected at this time. That said, now would be a great time for everyone (myself included) to organize all those shoes, hairs, accessories and everything else you've picked up in world or on the Marketplace into groupings that make sense for you. I know it's a tedious process (believe me, I know it will take me a significant amount of time to organize mine), but it will be so worth it in terms of better performance, ease of finding the object you are looking for and finding objects you forgot you bought that one late night. 😁 /me runs off to watch Alexa Linden's SL University talk on Inventory Tips:
  15. Good morning! I just wanted to make you all aware that earlier this week we rolled out a new feature to Marketplace: Bulk Redelivery! Enabling this will allow Merchants to send out updates on a product to anyone who has purchased or received it with the click of 1 button. To see the status of your bulk redeliveries, you can click the Bulk Redelivery History link under Orders on your Merchant home page. As with any new feature, please let us know via bug report (for bugs) or support ticket (for questions regarding the process) should any difficulties arise. Enjoy!
  16. Thank you! Hopefully we'll be getting back to you shortly with our findings on that ticket.
  17. Hi Count, I'm sorry you're having trouble with Search. We've tried to replicate the problem, but so far haven't had any luck. Unfortunately, Search isn't an issue that we can troubleshoot in the forums since we need very specific information to try to track down the problem. If you could submit a support ticket with the following information on it and ask it to be sent to my attention (I'll let them know to be on the look out for it) then we might have better luck trying to locate the issue. For this repro, I will need you to use the official Second Life viewer, as the Firestorm viewer results can differ. On that support ticket, please include the full parcel name and description of at least 1 but not more than 3 test parcels that should be showing in Search but are not. Once I have that info, I can have an engineer take a look and we can get back to you on that support ticket as soon as we've had the chance to look into it. Thank you!
  18. Ok, if you haven't yet please do submit a support ticket with all that info so that we can start looking into the issue for you.
  19. Hi Arwen! No, you shouldn't have to be doing it every day. The cookie will be good for quite a while, so if it's expiring on a daily basis, that's definitely something I want to look into for you.
  20. Hi all, I'm sorry to hear about the issues you all are having. Clearing cache and cookies should resolve the log out issues, but if you are still seeing them after doing that, please contact Support via ticket to let us know. Being logged out on the regular is definitely not something we intended and will definitely look into it. I see some of you mentioning getting logged out multiple times a day, and that's something we sure want to look into. Please include the following info in your ticket: what browser and version you are using, when the last time was that you cleared your cache and cookies in your browser, about what time SLT the multiple log outs occurred, and how many times you were logged out during that session. The info from those tickets will make it's way to me and the Web team can start looking into those issues. Thank you!
  21. We have been taking steps to implement a Single Sign On process across all of Second Life’s web pages. I wanted to make sure you were all aware of this so that if you get logged out of a web page and wonder why, this may be the culprit. In the past, it has been possible to be logged into one page with one account and logged into another page with a different account. Going forward, you will only need to log in one time to access all web pages with one account at a time. If you have any difficulty logging in or making changes to your account, a quick clearing of your browser cookies and/or cache should resolve any issues. Please contact our fabulous Support team if need additional assistance after taking those steps.
  22. Like, one of these, right? 🀣
