  1. I am "technically remedial" so am not even sure that there is a way the issues could tie. Just curious if I am just having good luck, or if there is something else driving the issue. Missing inventory is an epidemic given what see on the forum and answer postings
  2. when you say you "just" bought an item...how long ago? It can take up to 24 hours for the marketplace to deliver you might look at your marketplace transactions to determine if it is still pending after 24 hours if you have not recieved send a nice im AND a notecard to the creator
  3. You could also change viewers. I use Phoenix but there are several and maybe one will help you with rezzing better http://www.phoenixviewer.com/ http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_party_viewers#Third-party_Viewers
  4. You cannot change you name but if you have not invested too much into this avatar you could just creat a new one with the name you prefer
  5. blog link might help but you could try Ali hair or Cheerno - both use some naming conventions that remind me of that label
  6. if you always "wore" your chair before and it worked (vs rezzing and then sitting) it could be your ao that is preventing the correct animation
  7. I do not have an answer for your post but I am wondering if lost inventory is at all viewer related---possible? I use Phoenix (nonfirefox) and never miss any inventory at all. I spoke with my partner and a few friends who said they never lose anything either...but they all are on the old phoenix viewer too. Certainly my small sampling is not statisticly relevant but am seeing so many postings about lost items, wonder what drives it
  8. Could you have missed the confirm? Ordering on the marketplace gets obscured by pages of spam just BEFORE an order is completed. It is possible you missed the confirmation. Once you place an order another page comes up filled with random items that LL forces up...you must scroll down and look at bottom right for the confirm order button. If you fail to push that there is no order.
  9. No clothing items in SL have sizes. If it is only clothing layers there will be no problem with fit. However, if there are prim or sculpt parts they may need to be adjusted to fit. With avatars of all sizes and shapes there is no way for the creators in SL to offer perfect fit to all. My suggestion is to never buy any sculpt/prim clothing item that is not copy/mod and if you do not have good editing skills, take the free building classes you will find in search/events/education. Learn to build anything that is offered in a convenient time slot for you; all building principles are the same...you create a chair or a house the same way you would edit your clothing, hair and jewelry.
  10. You will find there are many Brazilian's in SL try searching Brazil inworld and see what comes up. There are also forums in Portugese where you could post questions in your first language http://community.secondlife.com/t5/F%C3%B3rum-em-portugu%C3%AAs/bd-p/PortugueseForum When I came to SL I took many of the free classes listed in search/events/education. I learned about the world and also met lots of people. Another good way to get started meeting people is to check the upcoming events in search/events. Social functions set up for meeting others are much better than just trying to reach out to a random stranger
  11. You might try getting a job with one of the larger land groups for an insiders view
  12. If you are looking for the old file menu try the phoenix viewer (non-firestorm version) http://www.phoenixviewer.com/

    Hi

Yes, you will need to buy the correct body parts and you will need animations and poses set up for the positions/acts you wish to perform
  14. You have the answers on how to do this but suggest that you may not want to....often people who send random teleports, mass im's and/or appear unannounced or invited, find themselves removed from friends lists. There are many things you "can" do in SL but that doesn't mean you "should" RL courtesy still applies
  15. I had that problem once and the only way I could get rid of it was to log in with another viewer (I use phoenix). I logged in with Kirstens, totally changed everything I was wearing skin/shape/cltohes everything. Found the ruthhair fix item, deleted it. Logged out and then back in with my phoenix. All was fine and it never returned
  16. You can buy lindens using the exchange you will find on your dashboard in the Linden Exchange section on left. You can use search on the events tab to join contests that give lindens as prizes You can get a job - look on the help wanted section here in the forms and the inworld classifieds tab in search If you are under 30 days old there might be a few money trees still left in the world. You would search money tree and then tp to the location...search the tree for lindens hiding in the branches. Only those less than 30 days old can take the money. There may also be some camping around - again you would use search. Camping just requires you to sit or hang around a particular area to earn small amounts of linden I do not know what games you are looking for but search is your friend just type in a topic and see what comes up. You may also want to take some of the free classes you can find in search/events/education
  17. Make sure that all your friends want to recieve a mass email so you are not spamming and that everyone on list is a "friend". More than half my friends list is business or just aquaintances not "friends" so when I get unexpected mass im's/notecards/tp's I remove that person from my list...my friends list is one an open invitation to advertise that is what groups are for. At least for me, friends list is for personal communication
  18. Have you tried deleting your viewer and then reloading clean version? If yes, have you tried more than one viewer? I use Phoenix but there are several options for viewers, maybe one would work better for you: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_party_viewers#Third-party_Viewers
  19. When I first got here I took lots of the free classes that I found in search-events-education. I took classes in everything from building to role-playing. I learned about SL and found this was a good way to meet other people too. You could also search groups for topics or interests you have in RL before I ran my shop I joined some writers groups that had discussion meetings. So if you have something you like to do RL you might meet others here engaged in something similar. Once I started meeting others and doing things I sort of learned SL along the way
  20. check keywords as well as the description, the maturity setting is automated and the word association really strange so just take one word out at a time till you figure out what they do not like
  21. Take some of the free inworld building classes learning, prims, sculpts and texturing. Most hair is made first with prims and sculpts. You don't use photo editing to build the hair but for creating the textures of the hair which is the last step after building the hair style. It does not make any difference what the class teaches you to build. The same way you make a magic wand, a dress or build a house is how you would make hair or anything else in SL. You will find building classes in search-events-education.
  22. im the creator if there are not instructions in the products folder
  23. If you are seeing clothes on your avatar - like underwear that you cannot take off, it is your skin and not your shape. A shape is like your RL skeleton and you do not see it. The shape makes your height, bone structure etc. The skin goes over it and that gives you your skin shade, makeup or face hair for men..and some of the shapes that are in the SL library also have under garments painted on them. So try a new skin, maybe even a demo from one of the skin creators and see if that helps
  24. Once you delete the items from your box and sync with marketplace you have to delete the items manually on the marketplace too
