  1. As a matter of fact, a broken, no mod item is more likely to be stolen. I have a mesh head in my inventory from a very prominent creator that has buggy materials on it. I contacted the creator, who said "We've moved on from that version, updates are in the new version." which was not a free update. It would be extremely easy for me, if I were so inclined, to turn it into a full perm head and fix it myself. Unfortunately I only like to push the rules, not break them.
  2. No it doesn't. It only prevents the end user from fixing it if it does break. Nothing you do with permissions can stop me from stealing or reverse engineering your product if I really want to (other than scripts, which has been covered already). That can be done no matter what permissions are on it. The other three are simply anti-consumer, so we're still at "no good reason for it".
  3. My guess is they don't care about SL at all. A company doesn't buy something like Tillia because they think it's nifty and they just gotta help LL and their customers. A company buys Tillia because they intend do something with it to make a profit from it.
  4. Oh, the CEO said it! THE CEO. Those guys never lie about a business deal, I trust him!
  5. All I know for sure is that we can expect fees to increase again.
  6. When 50% of the avatars in SL are against SL's rules, I'm sure we'll be able to have an interesting discussion. Right now saying something like that is nonsense. You're stringing words together with that reply, but it has so little to do with what I said it might as well be "Potato on the upside down my pants napkin."
  7. Because you said, twice now, If you need so badly for your avatar to be something that's borderline against the rules and you can't possibly tweak it to solve the problem, that indicates something else is going on there. What's your source for your stats? As far as I know, that information isn't published anywhere and we can only guess, which makes my guess as good as yours.
  8. Would be nice if we had real stats. My guess is it's low single digits. Even if it were as high as 20%, that's still not a significant enough portion to risk legal consequences.
  9. Considering that that would completely counter all the inclusivity messaging and events and narrative that LL pushes, I suspect being banned simply for being a femboy is not happening often.
  10. SL is not the place to come to if you need that badly to have that sort of therapeutic outlet.
  11. That's a resident to resident dispute and has nothing to do with what LL is talking about. Edit: Additionally, residents can ban people from their parcels for any reason at all or no reason, that's well established.
  12. I suspect "significant part" is a stretch. What's actually being talked about is a small minority of residents that by right shouldn't be in that position to begin with. Not to mention, choosing that avatar is entirely optional. It's a bit like choosing to commute to work in the biggest SUV you can find and then being upset that the roads feel too small and you can't get into certain parking spaces.
  13. That's the fun of it, at least in my case. It doesn't have to. Just knowing it's getting any reaction is enough for me!
  14. 2600 for an unsupported, discontinued, no modify item? And they say I troll people.
  15. If it's an object, you should be able to click on it and get map coordinates.
  16. If anything, 2k uploads should cost significantly more. I'd be fine with as high as 500 L$. Otherwise, creators will abuse it. Full stop. That's not even a debate. We already see 1024 on jewelry and buttons and zippers and countless other objects where it does nothing but tank our FPS.
