  1. The SysReqs page has been outdated for a while now. Citing it for any reason other than pointing out how outdated it is ... is pointless.
  2. Welcome to the forum, where you can comment/post to your heart's content without needing anything more than your Second Life credentials. Find a relevant section and leave a comment or start a topic. It's that simple, really. Can't be arsed? That's on you. You're not forced to use the Facebook integration - period.
  3. The company is called Linden Lab - Not Linden Labs, SLabs or anything else. Learn the difference between Copy Bot and all other forms of item replication. Unless you have a written contract between yourself and whatever content creators (if any) were involved in creating your "look" ... you haven't a hope in the world of any "legal actions" helping you in the slightest Courts generally do not care about such things either - you're SOL Want a Linden response? Too bad. The fora by and large is read by other Second Life users. Welcome to Second Life, the proper forms for being Butt Hurt can be found three sims down and to the left of Orientation Island Public.
  4. No, "everyone" isn't using Legacy Search. Users of some TPVs use what is classified as "Legacy" search.
  5. Considering the place I rent a 4096 (on an Island) from hasn't removed a similar capability from the security system they offer ...
  6. Alternately the posted time of 0530 PST could have been a typo. You know, the simple answer.
  7. Every time a similar thread pops up, someone chimes in concerning Mobile devices ... No, they are not "the future" (not yet) and no, not a single one currently on the market - or even planned - is powerful enough to run a proper Second Life client. You want a mobile client? Use what is out there or code it yourself.
  8. Yeah, if you intend to use VR, then the 1000 series cards are your best bet. The 2000 series (RT/RTX) are "First Generation" models/tech as far as the Ray Tracing they use goes .... not really worth it if all you're looking for is VR.
  9. That's the OGL and Driver version, not the card model itself. For most uses, the 400 series drivers aren't really needed ... They're meant for the 2000 series nVidia RT/RTX models and a few functions (as of the 415 set of drivers) for Linux users and some older software/games (Transform feedback for example). If you mean a Lenovo Laptop ... yeah, that'd be a bit of an issue.
  10. ... Say what now? GTX 980 here (the entire 900 series came out around 2014) and the only issues I have concern the quality of visible content. Poorly made? Causes issues.
  11. On the most recent side topic, spawned by Skell ... There are many reasons I tend to stick to Anthropomorphic avatar types for myself... You've managed to hit on one at the least. Fewer people being snide over clothing choices.
  12. RLV/RLVa, Experiences and Linden Admin - Qie. Linden Admin is the security concern, that leaves RLV/RLVa and Experiences. I'm aware they claim to be using the Official Linden Lab client - the post was made to provide some information and the possibilities. Without Experience permissions or RLV/RLVa, attachments generally only allow teleporting within the same region (unless there is a command I am missing) whereas accidentally hitting a Landmark ... Last I checked you'd have to double click it to teleport. Meh - in any event the entire point was that the methods for "forcing" a teleport to anywhere but one's Home require specific permissions/scripting commands or an Administrator.
  13. M'kay ... Being very blunt here: There aren't many ways at all to force a user to teleport. RLV/RLVa, Experiences, Security Scripts (these require Land Ownership or specific Group Permissions), Land Owner and Linden Administrative Access. So if it truly wasn't RLV/RLVa or an Experience then it was one of the other three. Unfortunately for you the other three ... Security Scripts either punt you to a nearby parcel or teleport you home. The Land Owner has the same restrictions. Administrative Access ... Last I knew that required the user to actually be where they want to force you to teleport to. RLV/RLVa commands can force you to teleport to a specified location but according to you .... you don't use it. Experiences are similar. A sim going offline would have logged you out. So, by process of elimination ... There are only three methods to do what you've described happening to you, one of which is a security concern that one hopes the Lab looks in to (if a Linden ever reads this thread) with the other two being the likeliest culprits, like it or not.
  14. Much ado about literally nothing . There is a public space, not directly linked to Facebook where you can comment on Blog posts and such, it's called the Forum. You know, that place you came to complain. As for the JIRA... Certain entry types are set to reporter and Linden Staff only and this has been the norm for a while. Making a new entry is pointless as one already exists. Public or not is rather irrelevant.
  15. If you're talking about the system that came after what is shown on Orientation Island Public... They changed it sometime after I joined, so they had a decent system in place in, 2006.
  16. How about no to some BS centralized "nexus" - you want that? Build your own world.
  17. Just don't confuse the Baking Powder and Baking Soda! Had someone helping me once mistake the two .... Ended up with inedible pucks.
  18. Not a problem! Believe it or not, I rather like baking.
  19. There's no evasion whatsoever, Scylla. You chose to interpret what I wrote a particular way and ran with it instead of asking for clarification. You asked a "question" based on a statement that was not made. Now you can choose to believe that some answer was given, certainly. Just as you can choose to believe an evasion was made. In both maters of course, you're quite wrong at the end of the day. Meh. Anyway, would you like a cookie - as soon as they're done baking? (Just got them into the oven, had the batter made much earlier.)
  20. Way to go, you've managed to conflate your own meanings with what I wrote yet again while at the same time not only showing that you had an ulterior motive but showing your own thought process. Read what i said. Read it very carefully. Notice that nowhere at all did I say that some types should have no say. That is you placing your own interpretation on what I have said and reacting to that instead of what was actually said - as usual. Have a Happy Solstice.
