  1. Very little of that actually belonged within the confines of this thread outside of the initial post and even then it was pushing things. In the end it does not much matter as this has become the norm as well and is tiring in its own way. That goes back to an earlier stated peeve of mine with regard to administrative things here ... One that also appears to have nixed some posts in another topic with no discernible reason to have done so whatsoever.
  2. ... Want to 'discuss' spiritual or similar matters? Make a proper thread for it or find a spot in world. Ending this brief comment with a related peeve: The idea/notion that there is any sort of perfection, that a world can exist with little to no strife of any kind ... and similar thoughts. No. Just no. And no, I'm not elaborating here - not even in a dedicated thread. No I won't elaborate privately. I won't elaborate in some in world setting either. Welcome to life. All life. Every single stage. Tiresome, isn't it?
  3. Only made the post because of how that part read. Though to be fair any parcel or region admin that does not give a user a bit of lead time upon arrival to see if their clothing is just being slow to rez in is. .. Well they shouldn't be doing any sort of admin duties if they shoot first. if they're worth their salt they will give a bit of time for loading and will wait to see if anyone complains about you being nude. Then they should message to see if you are indeed wearing anything. One should not be punished for such glitchery.
  4. Just gonna comment on this: Not to make you more self aware or anything but how long it takes for you to see your clothing differs from how long it might take those theoretical admins to see it load in.
  5. Or perhaps - just perhaps - the oh so lovely visuals are a secondary and lesser stimulator to you then reading what is going on. No need to feel self-conscious over that. Indeed, things like that are one of my own peeves from the past and a reason I am so very selective these days ... I prefer to read with any visuals and such being a secondary input.
  6. I see that the child has returned .... And has made an attempt to drag the name of one of the few remaining third party fora through the mud with their BS ... No one there would tolerate this sort of crap either.
  7. Oh it was! I'd saved my dark chocolate one from a variety pack my sister also sent me for Christmas to use for just that occasion. I'd used some of the others in a similar manner in my 'boring' Folgers (the custom roast from Sam's I am afraid) to great effect so .. yeah. And to keep somewhat on topic, my peeve for this post? That right now I have to try and save money thanks to a bit of a looming housing issue ... otherwise i'd possibly get more Bones and some more of that flavored hot chocolate! That or a bottle of Kahlua or Disaronno .... I could use a drink ....
  8. Oh trust me, not a problem. I had my last cup of the stuff using some flavored hot chocolate mix as a substitute for the powdered creamer and .... just yum!
  9. Oh it is. Depending on how you prepare it and what you add after will determine how rich the flavor actually is. If all you have is a traditional coffee maker, brew as you would most of your coffee. If you take cream/creamer and sugar, use a small bit less of each. If desired you can cut the bitterness a bit by adding a pinch of salt either directly to the mug or to the basket before brewing. Thanks to the pricing of it though, I'd use it sparingly.
  10. On the discussion regarding coffee: When I can I sometimes do get some Bones coffee but have not been able to for a while. Last bit of that I had was a Christmas gift from my RL sister - it was one of the Nightmare Before Christmas themed ones - Boogie Mudslide I think. Delicious! I am peeved that I no longer have any left! At least I still have some of the Top of the Morning brand coffee that my Mate bought me left! Golden Hour is the variety and it's from before the brand redesign. Also delicious!
  11. I do believe I have lodged this particular peeve prior ... Children. No, not people RPing children. Not physical (their actual age) children. Children of the sort that cannot own their own words and must go back to delete/edit their posts so as to attempt to scrub the forum record of the things they have said. Children of the sort who will abuse the Report tool in an effort to get said words scrubbed a bit more thoroughly (be it through targeted post deletion or thread deletion via mod intervention). Children of the sort who might carefully construct their responses so as to remain within the ToS if called out on them but are quite certainly taking a swipe at others. Grow up.
  12. That's nice. Toss the expectations out. That statement is not aimed at anyone in particular - it is universal. Toss. Them. Out.
  13. That's nice. Toss the expectations out.
  14. New behavior or not it is long overdue. With the present Hub in place and accessible to everyone there is no longer too much need to spin up a new account (yes yes, debatable). A step they honestly should have taken some time ago alongside reintroducing the Mentors. ETA: I type this as I stand near the Motown exit of the Hub, pondering if I ought to examine the Hub proper or continue around the complex. They even covered the notion that a new user might be coming into here at the behest of a friend and have a waiting area for the existing users to go to, to meet up. ETA2: Would I like to offer some help? At times, probably. Won't be able to do so in any official capacity as one of their prerequisites .... Well, Linden Lab dropped support for Linux some time ago and I am not going to go through WINE or Proton (be the WINE through Lutris or another application and proton through Steam) just to run their official viewer.
  15. Oh would you look at that ... another thread casualty ... You'd think the staff were somehow allergic to even the slightest hint of strife/drama with some of these ... Guess the peeve.
  16. Point blank: Anyone attempting to use such labels to dismiss a user's post is in reality telling others that their own responses can be dismissed out of hand - without exception. One of a handful of similar types honestly and they tend to "defend" each other.
  17. Oh for .... People, if you're going to leave then do so - skip the dramatics. There is no need to change your title, your avatar nor to make some sort of exit post (of any kind) nor to explain why you're leaving. Especially if you're going to get as upset as it appears some have. Peeve 1: Overly dramatic exits. Alternatively, use the tools the forum has here - such as Ignore. You know, that oh so lovely tool that hides a user's posts behind a banner that you willingly have to show in order to read what has been posted? That function that works perfectly fine as is. Once you've tossed someone into the Ignore filter, they are no longer your problem. At all. Doesn't matter what they say or do either - no need for it to be two-way. Someone else quotes them? So what - move on. Peeve 2: People not making use of the tools at their disposal.
  18. There's an Ignore function - use it folks. The usual tactics are at play here.
  19. Just gonna not bother to read every last page here as I can already predict the tone and content of some of the responses that have likely been made .... As a former Mentor myself I will note that burnout is a thing (kept me from doing too much at the tail end of the program and after its closure) and frankly did not see the sort of BS I noted some mentioning in the first page or two (sorry you had or heard such rough stories) either. Having a requirement to use the Official Viewer is - I will say - problematic to a point: Windows and Mac (while that crowd lasts) users won't be too affected but Linux users certainly will. I've made my views on that whole thing quite clear in the past and will not rehash it. Personally ... I wish the new crop luck. Be mindful of stretching yourself thin, ignore the negative tripe that'll be hurled your way by both some newcomers and existing users alike (some of the latter have enormous chips on their shoulders).
  20. Mmm, Salt & Vinegar .... I actually like some of the flavor variety in modern chip brands and also have a liking for a specific flavor of vegan "pork rind" alternatives - Snacklins. Funny someone should mention Chesapeake Bay flavoring ..... That's one of the Snacklins I love!
