  1. I know its an old topic, but i also would like to give my 2 cents. Absolutely agreeing on what you said by my own experience. I upgraded from a Nvidia 1060 to a AMD 6700xt, only to see my SL FPS rising just a little bit. It was nothing but disappointing. 2 weeks later i had sent back the AMD card, and got a 3070ti instead, and i instantly got a huge performance and FPS boost.
  2. Probably no social skills, no real friends, not much money and no appreciation of other peoples work, but using SL for an extensive ego trip.
  3. AI is pretty advanced when its about logo creation. There are so many free logo creator websites out there, spitting out hundreds of more or less simple logos in a few seconds after checking a few preferences and typing in the brand name. I dont think youll get overrun with requests here. If you wanna be creative , getting more practice and earning some money, i would recommend to make paintjobs for TMS and Bandit boats, and selling them inworld and the marketplace. If you dont like water vehicles, then you could stick to Dani helicopters and airplanes instead. Cars are more of a niche thing, tho. I dont sell any of my stuff, but i also love to put some color on some mesh objects
  4. Once upon a time there was a girl named Resi Pfeffer and she went to the breathe spa and other similar places. Liking that places she thought she could do it herself, too. And she did. I bought a 4K parcel at Zindra for 100 USD, went premium, forked out 23 USD a month for rent, bought furniture, pools, loungers, sauna, water slides, mesh sand, whirlpools, etc for a lot of money. It was a really nice place (in my opinion ^^). Every prim had materials to it, small local lights placed everywhere, In total 5 pools, even a wave pool, all other things built around and between them with a lot of space to socialize but also secluded spots. But, after all, it didnt take off, because of various reasons. I didnt do a lot of inworld ads for, if at all, for example. I hoped and believed in buzz marketing instead. Some people came by, the most didnt at all. The ones who came, left right after, some stayed for a while, and a very few came back, once or twice. Its actually a story of a fail like yours. But i didnt feel that bad because i was more relaxed about from the beginning. I did it because i wanted to try, not because i really thought and hoped, all breathe spa guests would wander over to my place. I loved building that place and every once in a while hanging there with my friends. Slow down your expenses, only build, what your wallet feels comfy with, dont expect too much, keep being creative and live a happy SL.Cheer up!
  5. Even if your parcel is super-mega-giga rare... You could sell it way quicker, if you would put just a little more effort into your post, adding at least the price you are asking for, and maybe a picture.
  6. I even looked at the map before i made my post, but didnt see the patterns. Yikes
  7. You could use "greenshot". It takes a snap and puts it into its editor where you can blur unwanted pixels, apart from other neat features. Save it or click the copy button and paste it anywhere you need. A job done in less than 20 seconds.
  8. Instead of bumping you could open the parcel details, to make the parcel border to appear on the screen before yout take screenshots. Then a customer doesnt have to guess where and how its located exactly.
  9. Its pretty much the same in the PEAK club. 5-10 people dance (mostly the ones close to the DJ) and the remaining 70 folks just stand motionless. But if its their way to go clubbing and party hard, why not... that still doesnt prevent me and my friends to do breakdance to house music if we are in the mood for.
  10. No, i didnt add any taxes. Whenever i buy Linden dollars (for lets say 50 USD,) the money taken from my paypal account is also around 50 Euro these days. Same applies for the yearly premium fee. I think thats because some countries (germany for example) only allow prices to be shown with tax included for non business clients, and SL seems to have adapted to.
  11. I only roughly estimated the amount of money. If your calculation is more correct than mine, even better.
  12. Thats already 500% more activity than a lot of other users can come up with. Youll be fine
  13. 100% this. As a veteran myself i came across a few newbies. Either they didnt know what to do at all, as SL is a open world with no predefined goals to reach, or they wanted everything "the end game" within one to two weeks. It did include going from starter to full mesh avatar, renting an island close to blake sea, buying but struggling to rez and setup the huge house and furniture they bought for, getting a sail boat and using it once by turning on the engine because... wind, you know There are memories in my head about some of them impatient ones never have been seen online again after that quick SL sidequest.
  14. Building Linden Homes is nothing automated, as far as i know. The Bellisseria layout and design isnt that repetetive at all, even tho the houses and trees, etc. are the same within a theme, of course Connected regions match in terms of where roads lead and rivers flow to. None of them suddenly end at a Linden home wall or a Rock face. Its best to see at the chalet, victorian and log home themed parts of belliseria. All that stuff takes time to plan and to set up. If you subtract the 650 LD stipend each week, its actually only around 130 bucks a year. But im also still put off by the 250 bucks price i have to fork out before i get back the half of it within the following 12 months.
  15. Another possibility is to search for any place you like staying at and then you just landmark it. After, you drag that landmark to the upper edge of the viewer (Firestorm) to make it a bookmark.
  16. I think its safe to say, my (our) intentions are not to belittle the ideas and visions you might have. Its just about the few pieces of information you are willing to share, causing some question marks to pop up here and there. -For a good pitch you should have a well expressed list of reasons why your new business idea will work (better than the existing ones) -Build a small inworld demo (it always helps to visualize) -If you cant turn your ideas into mesh, draw it
  17. Sure! Im logging in to SL for nefarious reasons only. All the time, money and passion i put into SL is dedicated to make others feel bad, because my misanthropic personality is evil enough not wanting to entertain them. Of course, it never could be that im AFK because: -im chatting with 5 friends at the same time and running out of attention for other things happening around me -im doing household chores in RL like cooking, ironing, etc -im trying to finally learn blender -im working at the home office -im doing a paintjob for a SL vehicle in Photoshop -im writing Sl forum posts about why im not paying attention 100% to everyone around me. But no need to worry, i dont hang at places as described above.
  18. The best one is probably the one you can afford. If your eyes/glasses work fine and if you run a powerful graphics card, go get a bigger screen with a high resolution. More space x more pixels = more stuff you can display on a single page.
  19. I would like to add the need to be strong and immune to the neighboring builds around, when moving to mainland. It can vary from a vast empty space to a giant gothic tower, huge fullbright prims, 30 meter high walls, or a unicorn breeding farm and (add anything crazy/ugly coming into your mind).
  20. Racing in SL is pretty much a niche thing. There are some nice built places one could call crowded at times - 3 people racing, two chatting, 5 being AFK. Most of them places have stores, too. They sell what the racer needs, like tire sets, engine parts, stickers, exhausts, and maybe one or two shirts with the logo stitched on. Thats it. No major famous clothes brands, no hair, no shoes, no furniture, no mesh bodies. Entertainment is provided by hanging there, modding stuff, having fun messing around and chatting, or simply racing. Why else would one hang there? I wish you good luck with your "one of a kind" idea and for finding an investor even more.
  21. I feel you. I spent the summer mainly on my maxi yacht cruising costa smeralda up and down, but as internet connection wasnt always the best despite all those satellite antennas, i went straight back home.
  22. That just gave me a nightmare - me not paying attention, flying over a sim/verse crossing and loosing my legs suddenly. Panicking, taking off to the next sim, just to get my body, head and limbs turned into blocks, and finally, while trying to find back home, getting smashed into a lifeless 2D NFT texture.
(siehe Screeshot. "must have payment info on file") Wieso das für manche Regionen und deren Besitzer wichtig ist, erschliesst sich mir aber bis heute nicht.
  24. The map captures everything below 400 meters sea level. If you build a house in the middle of a water parcel/region and nothing else, youll see just that on the map. If you add some huge colored prims at 400 meters in the sky or lower, they also will appear on the map tile, covering your house Anything above 400 meters wont show on the map. It also only works with prim/mesh builds. If you wanna have a smiley, it has to be made with a huge round yellow prim, 2 white ones for the eyes and a black arch for the mouth - you get the idea. Putting a texture on a huge prim instead wont work, sadly.
