  1. You might reach more people if you would make it a bit less secret, if possible. -You could post a pic of you and your friends dancing on the stage. -Whats "some lindens" exactly? Do the participants just have to pay the hairdresser daily or are they also required to pay for the parcel rental?
  2. Could be, but the brands i know leaving Lara behind, or never ever having rigged for, are more likely to sell fashion for the curvy (bimbo) girls out there. Others, catering for the short and skinny babygirls instead, stick mostly to lara petite and legacy perky, not even including Reborn and Kupra.
  3. Dont be. You handle the forums reaction very well. That sets you apart from the other "scientific researchers", dashing off their surveys into the forum and then never checking back on the topic at all.
  4. Syncing the fps to your monitor refresh rate or capping fps is fine as long as you dont move a lot. It also helps saving some money when using quite powerful graphics cards, especially when SL runs for a lot of hours a day. Whenever i get to sailing, flying, etc, i turn off all cappings (with graphic presets), letting the FPS go to wherever they are able for a smooth experience. Other from that i also would suggest just to wait for the next viewer update and hoping for things to improve.
  5. Why would it hurt me when you dont greet or not even notice me while you are being busy doing what you love? As long as my friends are happy, im too.
  6. To pick up Orwars suggestion and my passion about sailing as an example, i do have a hard time trying to understand why you would feel like a square peg trying to fit in. If you dont wanna do it on your own, you can join a yacht club participating in some leisure cruises around the grid, or you even get competetive, racing others. In all of the listed options you will be only expected to be friendly and interested in sailing and the rules about. Thats all. At my YC there is most likely always someone else around. In the best case there is a nice chat about the weather and other small talk, like boats of course, also paired with helpful hints and instructions for beginners or maybe even developing a friendship, and in the "worst" case its just a friendly "Hi, im practicing, see ya later" before that person sets off with their boat - because they are here for the sake of having fun sailing mainly, not to fit in a social group. Being social happens naturally there in various levels and no one feels forced to act in a certain way, as the main reason for all the people gathering is the interest they have in common.
  7. Hard to tell if you just wanted to put another ad out there, or if you wanted to show us you are one of the few ones doing it right
  8. The problem isnt necessarily others being busy with their group stuff, its more about you obviously not being interessted in what that group stands for. If you run into someone who has nothing but 25 sailing groups tagged in the profile, you actually know what to expect from that person in terms of interests. You can either turn away and search for something else - or you chat that person up, getting involved yourself in whatever it is about, becoming a part of. Finding like-minded people (the ones not being busy with other friends, activities and groups) is probably hard to achieve, as they often just hang, doing literally nothing.
  9. I didnt read those threads either, but i believe to know, having the inventory shaped like an extensive tree root is the best thing one can do anyway. So, you probably can have 50K+ clothing items, as long as they are spread and nicely sorted in sub, subsub, subsubsub folders.
  10. If you wanna earn money, you need to offer something not everyone can do, like Lindall and Rowan said already. So i wouldnt recommend creating simple tattoos either, also not stylecards. If you wanna be succesful you better prepare yourself for the hard way, like spending weeks and months with blender until you are good at, for example. And even then there is not a guarantee for your items being sold like there is no tomorrow, as so many other things also have to come together.
  11. Im assuming, your girl was messing with some windows fonts/language packs by accident, as she already tries to stand out with that fancy and more or less hard to read display name fonts. First thing i would do in her case is trying another viewer, to know if its an OS or viewer issue.
  12. I have to do some terraforming every once in a while. Whenever the parcel settings allow terraforming for everyone, i wont get a message. But when terraforming is turned off, but im granted terraform rights through my group role, i can terraform but always will receive said message.
  13. In case Sylvias workaround doesnt work, im pretty sure you have to deed your parcel to the the group to make the landing point override work.
  14. Not so convinced about that. Her current hiatus may just be the calm before the storm, what i really hope and wait for.
  15. 6.6.8 will give you a huge performance boost and fps rates will probably double, but it comes along with a lot of annoying bugs: -objects suddenly vanishing and then reappearing, maybe -editing objects and moving them will lag with a 1 second delay -moving the cam in a crowded club will get you some headache
  16. I dont doubt your parcel being less pricey than others when you tell me so, but If you sell a can of original Malossol Beluga Kaviar with a 35% discount, its still overpriced for most of the people, especially these days.
  17. No issues so far, apart from the usual FS bugs. To rule out your computer/laptop being the reason for, you could try another one, if possible. Or use the speedlight.io mobile app to login for now.
  18. I got lucky being squeezed between a river and a small lake.
  19. ouch, i was blind, too. Didnt even notice the year 2013
  20. Wrong. If you can prove someone is doing things against the TOS, it will taken care of in a lot of cases. My Linden Home neighbor only had a 1024 sqm wooden platform hovering above her house (probably to know where the parcels borders are). It took only 48 hours for a Linden employee to come over and remove it (nope, wasnt me reporting). P.S. The thread you answered is 9 months old, btw
  21. Of course it is While SL mainland prices get more and more ridiculous as you can see on very your own example, people have less money to spend on pixel plots because of global RL recession.
  22. Hello Scylerr, as english isnt my native language im not 100% sure what you actually wanna do when being hired at a "hostess" In case you wanna earn money in the red light district, you dont need anyone to hire you. Go to those crowded places as a freelancer. In case you want to be a host at a music club, you better choose the club you possibly wanna work at. Imagine you are into Rock and Metal music, but a ballroom venue owner is going to hire you. That doesnt sound like a good deal for anyone. So, go to where you feel good, where you like the people and the music, get to know the people, have nice chats while partying and then you ask the owner or manager if they need a host.
  23. I wonder what happens if i loose the BBX boat, what will happen sooner or later at a laggy sim crossing, or me standing up from the vessel in a 1 minute return time zone. Will you rez me a new one whenever i need it or is it just a sophisticated decoration?
  24. I would like to apply as an employee for the bureaucrazy bureau, to keep it close to RL. My qualifications are: - I wont answer the phone, never. - I wont answer emails or IMs. If i do, then i only send text modules, little or not related at all to the clients actual request. - The drivers license processing and approval time will be a few days/weeks for friends, and a few months for everyone else. - The office business hours will be: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM and 02:00 PM - 03:30 PM from monday to thursday. Kind Regards
