  1. Try reducing graphics display to its lowest level on preferences too - then move all the sliders to lowest as well - to give your graphics card as little work as possible. Good luck!
  2. Try the classes at Builders Brewery - they are from beginners to advanced level. There are also other places that offer building classes, such as NCI.
  3. I am no expert at all, the only thing I have noticed is that when I move between OS and SL, I sometimes have the "white" texture issue. Clearing cache has up till now cleared up the problem. So I am wondering if maybe there is a cache corruption or confusion issue between textures stored in SL and OS at the same time - might it help to create separate caches for each grid?
  4. HisaDrug wrote: Sorry to open the thread with the ultimatum, but I honestly think DD is more convenient for the fact that we can take a peek at the contents and their permissions, no unpleasant surprises in what we buy. In my own point of view, it's much faster.. folders delivered right in your inventory ready to use right there. But some people still demand boxes. So I explain the bright side of the DD system, but....?? they still complain they'd prefer boxes even after they made purchases on the MP. So I give them boxes.....!! Yeah but I still don't understand why some people would still wanna deal with packages. Is this a matter of organizing their inventory? Do I have to leave an additional option for box people?? I'm confused. What do you guys think?? Is that strictly true? For example, the permissions on the item may be modify and copy, but due to a no modify script in the prim contents the whole item will appear as no modify in Marketplace folder contents - even though it is still perfectly possible to modify the prim, even remove the the no mod script... I do try to make it clear in my descriptions when this is the case therefore...
  5. Hi LepreKhaun Sorry I am horribly late replying to your very detailed reply. It was very kind of you and you made the process crystal clear - thank you very much! Emma
  6. Works just fine now and I like the last one you posted too - very elegant. Thank you!
  7. thank you innula - ill be trying it when i get back inworld
  8. I am getting a syntax error at 17,4 and I can't do grammar to save my life! Help!
  9. Where can i get a large enough mesh? :matte-motes-big-grin:
  10. Thank you for sharing that link Innula
  11. 3K inventory?? JEAL!!! I'm struggling with almost 40 K!! DO NOT encourage me hahahaha
  12. Innula, that looks like a very useful script - thank you for sharing. I've put it into one of my builds and, although on resetting I get the help info chatted out, any of the other commands send on the channel it's said to be working on, result in nothing (e.g. /678 send and ?678send). Where am I going wrong?
  13. Thanks for coming back to explain the mystery - I use Builders Buddy too and appreciate the heads up very much
  14. Good advice - and I love the way you wrote that. Yeah Rya - I've had error messages too that the merchant outbox failed - and yet everything was uploaded properly to Marketplace. Maybe a bit of rusty baling wire snapped but the whole caboodle didn't fall after all... LOL Dirtnap - "ask the neighbors to borrow their infant child to use in a satanic blood ritual" - I'll sue you for yet another ruined keyboard...
  15. Hi Porky I too have had some failed deliveries, though nothing like the percentage you have suffered - that does suck! Since the deadline for Magic Boxes was announced, I have noticed more failed or partially failed deliveries - I expect that may be to do with the workload on the servers as people are rushing to migrate. Hopefully things will settle down again... From reading the forums and listening into merchants' chat I have the impression that for some people DD is more fraught with problems than for others - but I have never heard anyone trying to explain why that is... Hope things improve soon for you.
  16. I don't use Phoenix myself - I think it is no longer supported. The current SL viewer, also Singularity (which is a little kinder to older computers) and Firestorm have Merchant Outbox - there may be others I don't know about. Some viewers store the Merchant Outbox not in inventory but under ME (Second Life Viewer) or AVATAR (Firestorm). I would suggest downloading one of those viewers (to a different directory that your current viewer) and hopefully, you will have a merchant outbox. Hope this helps. Emma:)
  17. Too funny!!! If I wasn't so grateful for my first laugh of the day I'd say you owe me a keyboard - spat coffee all over it ))) Thank you! Emma
  18. Perhaps this is an SL glitch? It's happened to me where my upper body plays the animation but my legs remain static... - I was also using the same internal animation though it was to hold a lamp. Emma
  19. Yay - marketplace review notifications - thank you Commerce Team!
  20. Haven't been able to get into aditi for a couple of months - put in a ticket today. I wonder how many others are still having problems connecting to the beta grid. Emma:)
  21. Erm.... it isn't right... I wasn't first going to include it and then I was too lazy to go back and copy the numbers... Sorry to confuse everybody!! I did mean to add something in my reply to Dora's first post.... Thanks though for pointing it out, I learned a little more from you - like SL doesn't like all noughts in a sit target ! Emma
  22. Yay - thank you so much Dora! After some more tweaking i finally hit the right numbers!!!!!! If only I'd realised my numbers were just too big hehehe. So glad to have learned about this ) Emma
  23. Thank you Dora The rezzed object will now appear at the same spot relative to the rezzer regardless of where that's been moved. Works with llRezObject and llRezAtRoot the same... Yay!! BUT... I tried all sorts of variations on the numbers (converted the ZERO_VECTOR and ZERO_ROTATION to numbers) and still I can't work out how to make the object rezz in the right orientation - which needs to be a 90 degree turn towards the ground. I've tried 45, 90 & 180 in various places of the above sets but only managed to turn the object face backwards or forwards, not do the quarter turn down. Another pointer would be much appreciated! Thank you... Emma
  24. I thought I had my new toy working brilliantly - until I moved the rezzer. When I then tried to rez my object, it was in the wrong place!! Resetting the script after moving it did not help... :(. So... combined scripting brain powers of SL Forum, please could you help me out? Here's my script ( ok, cobbled together from a number of sources :D - but it works - sort of... ): vector sittarget =<0.0, 0.0, 0.0>; rotation sitrotation =<0.0, 0.0, 0.0>; key agent; default { state_entry() { llSitTarget(sittarget,sitrotation); } changed(integer n) { if(n & CHANGED_LINK) { agent=llAvatarOnSitTarget(); if(agent!=NULL_KEY) { llRequestPermissions(agent,PERMISSION_TRIGGER_ANIMATION); llRezObject("Feed", llGetPos() + <-.55, 0, -.46>, ZERO_VECTOR, ZERO_ROTATION, 0); } else { llSay(0,"Thanks!"); } } if(n & CHANGED_INVENTORY) { agent=llAvatarOnSitTarget(); if(agent!=NULL_KEY) { llUnSit(agent); } } } run_time_permissions(integer n) { llStopAnimation("sit"); llStartAnimation(llGetInventoryName(INVENTORY_ANIMATION,0)); } } Thank you so much! Emma :)
