  1. 1500 on the network slider is maximum for the SL viewer, it's a bug, you go higher it causes packet loss and something else. LL has to fix it, not heard anything about it in least a year.
  2. This is why sox have evolved with human hands, makes life simpler... footpaws on the other hand. shoes are so awkward on footpaws.
  3. I'm wondering this too, I pulled up thunderbird and saw I could add an xmpp server for chat and since this is documented by LL and does not seem to be redacted or retracted, I wonder if it would work. I know the url schemes for things changed because of the aws move.
  4. I just had a simple question and you gave me all this and it's not applying to what I want to talk about. so let's get back onto the topic if you will for me here.
  5. chat logs are LL's safe guard and can be handed over to law enforcement agencies on request. Only way you are getting end to end encryption too is if LL has the decryption keys. it is their service after all. if it was your service than you could do it your way.
  6. now I was doing some digging and found this https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Chat_Systems#How_to_Configure_an_XMPP_Client at the bottom is says wonder if that's still valid? least a little bit. could be useful for 3rd party chat clients that support xmpp. @MontyLinden this still valid?
  7. invision is working on a few things. I'm hanging in some other forums by invision and this is just not an SL forum problem.
  8. anybody got a screenshot of this new profile? since I'm only using firestorm.
  9. https://community.secondlife.com/forums/forum/287-private-island/ would be the correct area, this is the forsale area.
  10. I've hit it too, I'm not hitting the hammer neither, it seems to be random at times.
  11. I remember LL disabled the ability for other viewer to determine what the other viewer was running too.
  12. we can not even identify scripted agent status that we've set our own bot to use, so if we can not detect them nor other bots in SL, then there's all the proof you need.
  13. you will never be able to recoup the original investment, since the prices for the simulators/private regions have come way down in pricing.
  14. the viewer is not able to view information on that level, scare tactics and people whom think they know the system not really knowing the system. The viewer sends out very little information and most of that is to the simulator it's self, the viewer gets data position and a few other items about avatar location builds and such. but backend data, there is nothing they can gather along those lines.
  15. Since the forum is not self hosted on LL's servers, the hosting solution they do use, which is invision are having hiccups, sadly we have to wait for them to fix their issue, not much LL can do but put tickets in or make calls.
  16. https://github.com/cinderblocks/radegast/releases you want the .exe for windows
  17. I can only recommend intel, since amd is not what I consider "gamer" quality. but 16gb ram, 512/1tb ssd, 1070gtx. those would be my gotos.
  18. subpoena's work too if they believe a crime has been committed, any local police department can do that too.
  19. I believe one relies upon a default water texture and the other one does not. if I am remembering right @Ardy Lay might know more.
  20. it uses LL's auth and only LL gets that information, speedlight is not bound to hurt themselves or cause users of the service problems.
  21. I was just doing some checking in on steamdb and made myself chuckle some, but found the steam app id and put it into steamdb. seems 26 day's ago, it was updated. https://steamdb.info/app/209930 curious.
  22. @Dyna Mole @Quartz Mole Go ahead and close this, since did not get a reply to what I had asked from LL. Thanks.
