  1. I'm guessing you know very little about buying and selling land. If a land baron acquires a parcel that is just above a tier level, he will indeed cut off the excess to make the remaining parcel more attractive to people looking for land at that tier level. Someone cut that 96 sq m parcel off of a larger parcel, it didn't just happen. I came along and bought the land at a reasonable price of $180 L. I then cut off the 16 sq m piece that I wanted, and relisted the remaining 80 sq m at what some would consider an excessive price of $500 L. However, Its still 2x protected, and those usually list for $1000 L or more, so in fact I'm offering someone a good deal on that parcel. My ad parcels are reasonable, not an eyesore, and conform to all the rules. Plus, this particular one doesn't block anyone's view.
  2. Why would you cut off land along the road? That makes zero sense. Cut it off at the back and abandon it. The land flipper I bought my 96 sq m parcel from knew no one would buy it if he cut if off of the rear, so he did what he did to maximize his profit. He could have listed it for a lot more, but maybe his tier date was coming up soon
  3. I assure you I feel no guilt when I buy a parcel for $100 L and sell it for $500 L Guilt is what rich celebrities feel for making so much money that they end up supporting socialism, even though the capitalist system allowed them to amass their fortunes. Bill Gates: Billions for me, crumbs for you, peasants.
  4. The prices probably wouldn't be lower, generally, land barons control the prices. If someone was selling cheap, a land baron would scoop it up. Actually, why not disable land cutting on all the mainland sims? If you want to subdivide, you put in a support ticket making your request. That would solve the problem of new micro parcels once and for all. My main parcel is in Kama city, land cutting is allowed, but it doesn't happen, because the land there is too valuable to be cut into tiny pieces.
  5. The sellers and buyers are all that matter really. We hear endless complaints about how someone bought a parcel beside their pretty house and put up a monstrosity. That is the good and bad of mainland. But as long as the rules are being followed, one just has to accept it. Bellesaria is always there for people that crave conformity and strict rules.
  6. From the wiki: Using content, particularly advertising, to deliberately and negatively affect another Resident's view so as to sell a parcel for an unreasonable price, is deemed unacceptable and shall be dealt with as a violation of the Community Standards. ----------- For the record, I don't have ad parcels to force people to "buy the view". My ad parcels are not for sale. If at any time I chose to sell one, I remove the advertising and sell it empty. My standard price for a 2x protected 16 sq m parcel is $500 L, and it always sells within a week or so. Unfortunately, the person buying it usually DOES put a big ugly sign on it, AND sets it for sale for a far higher price. But that's really not my problem is it? But then again, you can report the new owner for violating the rules.
  7. Actually, I started this thread to address several points the regulars in here have brought up over and over. I used my particular situation to illustrate the folly of their arguments By the way, large swathes of mainland can be described as many things, but pretty isn't one of them. Ugly doesn't really depend on size
  8. I can't speak for other advertisers, but i think my ad parcels are tasteful and kind of artistic, and most important, they comply with all the rules๐Ÿ˜
  9. Today I found a parcel in search, 96 sq meters, for sale for $180 L. How did this parcel come into existance? I'd guess a land baron was shedding the excess sq meters to create a tier level parcel, which he will sell at a profit to some willing buyer. He is happy, and the purchaser is happy. I scooped the parcel up, protected roadfront at that price is a fantastic deal. I carved out the part I wanted, then relisted the remaining 80 sq m parcel (still roadside protected) for the selling price point of $500 L. It will sell to a willing buyer in a matter of weeks. They will be happy, I will be doubly happy, everyone involved in all these transactions will be happy. So whats is the problem? Well it seems people not involved in any of these transactions believe none of this should be allowed. They want LL to ban subdivsion under a certain land size, they want to ban the sale or transfer of land under a certain size, they want to make it illegal to build on parcels under a certain size. And no, I'm not breaking rules about subdividing land, I'm entitled to reduce the size of a parcel to meet my needs. Those rules refer to buying a parcel then dividing up the whole thing to resell. If there was anyone breaking that rule, it was the original land baron. who cut off the parcel i ended up buying. It all boils down to people wanting LL to force everyone to live Second Life the way THEY think it should be lived. My message to LL, please ignore these complainers, Second Life works just fine the way it is.
  10. I thought no pushing refers to avatars, not objects, and you can't push objects onto LL land anyway, entry will be blocked, they will hang up on the property line. I think you you can only ride an object into Linden land
  11. Linden Lab has a clearly stated policy for advertising parcels. If all the rules are followed, what is the problem? I suspect it comes down to ad parcels offend some people's esthetic, so they must be eliminated. If anyone would like a list of my ad parcels, IM me inworld, and you can visit them to check for violations. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  12. If the seller is being honest, why don't they just list each of the 4 parcels for $200,000 L ?
  13. Glad this topic was posted. I was 4096 for 22 dollars a month. I saw the 8192 was dropped from 35 to 31 a month. It didn't take long to realize that for only an extra 9 dollars a month, i can double my tier, so now I'm happily building on my new parcel. Tier is still only 1 dollar a day, cheap entertainment considering how much time i spend in Second Life ๐Ÿ˜
  14. Interesting that you mention that figure. I used to own forty seven 16 sq m 2x protected parcels, but a rules change made my purpose for having them illegal, so I sold all of them, for a profit I might add. Lately I've been searching again for micro parcels, and so far have acquired three 16 sq m 2x protected parcels. I would pay up to $200 L for them, but two I got for less. I use them for self advertising, and yes they conform to ALL the ad farming rules. If and when I get tired of them, i can relist them for $500 L each, and I guarantee every one will sell fast (and be immediately relisted for $1000 L or more)
  15. Nice roadfront property on Gardulla (M) 1088 sq m, $1.4 L per sq m, $1500 L 373 prims gap in LL border elements will allow driveway construction Interested in purchasing, but don't want to go over your basic free tier allowance of 1024 sq m? It's easy. Create a group, invite your alt to join it keep the group active, then go to "land & Ls" tab in the group info and donate your 1024 tier to the group. Don't forget to save it. That will then give the group the 10% group bonus for an allowable total of 1,126 sq m, enough to purchase this property with no additional monthly tier.
  16. A perfect square, 32 x 32, great place for a home or small club. It's adult so (almost) anything goes. Selling for $10 L per square meter, Two connecting 128 sq m parcels can also be listed for sale if interested http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Fenfarg/160/167/61
  17. We all know that Second Life is all about tolerance, acceptance and inclusion and that we should never ever post any content here or inworld that attacks anyone. My question is, what if there was a club that was dedicated to anti fascism and anti nazism, would that be allowed, because hey, who cares about their feelings anyway right? Just a thought, just a question. If this thread in some way violates some "no politics" rule I apologize to the forum members and to the moderators.
  18. You can interview me, I love to talk about myself. I live in an old commercial structure on Fenfarg sim in Kama City on the Zindra adult continent. It's a short walk from a Kama City monorail station, or you can take a hover car right to my front door. You'll have to excuse the mess thought. I'm doing a remodel to make the place 100% TOS compliant, but I can rezz us a couple of chairs. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  19. Until results are certified, no one has won the election. This is all mainstream media smoke and mirrors pushing a false narrative. This election WILL end up in the supreme court.
  20. Wish I read this thread before starting one about that same message. At least its nothing I did ๐Ÿ˜
  21. The last two times I logged in I got the following message as I logged in. The transaction with the marketplace failed with the following error: 'forbidden' I've not bought anything on mp or had anything to do with mp in days, any thoughts? Edit: I logged my alt in and got the same message.
  22. You paid less than $2 L per sq m for road front. In my opinion, that's a reasonable price. When you go to sell it, two things to remember, a: you probably won't be able to sell it for a profit, and b: you probably won't break even. As your tier date approaches, or your impatience to purchase another parcel grows, you might consider selling to a flipper, who will probably give you about $0.5 L per sq m, and will then turn around and relist it for more or less what you originally paid.
