  1. All you have to do is put your settings so that IMs go to email -- and use an email that you will actually check regularly, at least daily. All IMs in that case will go to the email, even if you don't get them all inworld.
  2. Did you do a Name Change? The files that are stored locally like TP history, are stored under you account name.
  3. You can whitelist all SL related folders for any firewall/malware/virus scan software - you don't have to switch products. Though, there are some anti-virus products that have caused SL issues in the past.
  4. I was pretty sure this topic had come up within the last 6 months and a bit of searching found it:
  5. Driving Sideways, Slippen Fall, NotJustAnother Afterthought I know there are others that I'm just not remembering right now.
  6. Nope -- there are a few nice mesh hairs with flexi attachments that give it a more realism look. If done right, it isn't horrid looking or extremely high in CI. Even a few of the older short styles are still okay. It's the long styles where the hair flows through your body (shoulders, boobs, chest, etc..) that really suck.
  7. When I first started SL, I used my credit card for my accounts and my husband used the same credit card for his account. Note that he is a valid authorized user for the credit card. These days, I use my PayPal account and I use it for all of my alts -- had 8 accounts billing with it at one time. If you wanted to us a payment method that was only in your name, and use it for someone else's account, I would probably contact Billing to ensure that it is done properly. Billing support phone numbers Toll-Free (US/Canada): 800.294.1067 Long-Distance: 703.286.6277 Our Billing team is available from 9am to 5pm EST(6am to 2pm PST), Monday through Friday. https://lindenlab.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/31000131008-billing-support
  8. Anti lock brakes help, but as Rowan said, you will still slide on ice. The anti-lock basically invokes a pumping action on the brakes to keep them from locking up, which usually gives at least a bit of better stopping. Mostly they help in non-icy situations though.
  9. Many folks with 4 wheel drive forget that all cars have 4 wheel slide when it comes to ice (unless you have chains on or studded snow tires).
  10. Since you can gift a Premium membership to someone by calling Billing, you might be able to gift a name change to someone. So, either open a Support ticket or call Billing: Billing support phone numbers Toll-Free (US/Canada): 800.294.1067 Long-Distance: 703.286.6277 Our Billing team is available from 9am to 5pm EST(6am to 2pm PST), Monday through Friday. https://lindenlab.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/31000131008-billing-support
  11. Thank you -- I couldn't remember the exact phrasing on the original post.
  12. Yeah, the more I think about it, 'where there is a will, there is a way' and thus someone will figure it out.
  13. As AzureWaves mentions, I want Lil to have certain benefits (since she is my primary account), so I keep her at Premium or better. So when dollars get tight, it is the alts that have to downgrade -- usually all the way to basic.
  14. I totally forgot about that tool - thanks for posting it
  15. The original was more along the lines of: When you see a thread title, do you automatically misread it as something else, and if so, what do you read -- even better if what you misread it as is funny
  16. A really crappy van -- I owned one super long ago.
  17. We spent the last 3 days in single digits or below zero. Finally back to 30 today and will be back to the 40s soon.
  18. LL can verify if the accounts involved are owned by the same person - said person can prove it if not already obvious via payment info and/or email address. Make it a P+ option, plus a transfer fee, and only if the involving accounts are proven to be owned by the same person. Yeah, I know, more work for Customer Support, but probably not much more in the grand scheme of things. I don't know if it would be possible for someone to still figure out how to scam the system.
  19. And newer stuff is not always better on performance that older stuff. The things we wear should be individually checked for efficiency - how many triangles does that outfit/hair/boots have and does it really need that many? If you get items that are really well optimized, you can actually wear more things and still be more efficient than simply reducing the number of things worn.
  20. Definitely add both, an SL JIRA and a Firestorm JIRA. There are many features in Firestorm that did not come the LL viewer. Hell, that is the whole point of Third Party Viewers.
  21. By not allowing it, LL is maybe hoping that we'll keep extra Premium accounts. The only real reason that we would want to do the transfer is likely so that we can downgrade the account that is giving up the home. If we could prove to LL that we own both accounts (must prove this to ensure no direct giving of spots to other accounts) and are willing to pay a transfer fee, then it really, really would be nice if LL would give us this option. Maybe even only allow it for Premium Plus, which means that account getting the property would either have to already be Premium Plus or at minimum pay for a monthly Premium Plus, in addition to a transfer fee. @Patch Linden- Hint, hint. By charging a Transfer Fee and only allowing a Premium Plus account to get the property, LL might make some extra L$ - as opposed to those of us that simply gave up great locations because financially we really needed to drop a Premium or two. It's the little perks like this that could make Premium Plus more appealing to some.
  22. Firestorm has a JIRA for requesting new features: https://jira.firestormviewer.org/secure/Dashboard.jspa
  23. Likely, but most people just simply measure the full pan, outer edge to outer edge. And a typical US tape measure, does not easily show .65", making it more difficult to confirm that inner size. Yes, I can convert it all to cm or mm, but that is more work than should be necessary when both product measurements are given in inches. And since I don't care to take the time to do the conversions, I'll simply buy a different lid.
  24. Going RL here for a min: Due to industry lumber standards, we all know (and mostly accept) that a 2x4 is not really 2" by 4". However, When I am looking for a 5" skillet lid, I do not want a lid that is measured the way lumber is. Found this today in my search:
  25. Based on the number of people that get reduced to grey blobs in my viewer, I'd say that most of the people in SL don't give a crap about their own complexity (unfortunately). Thus creators are not incentivized to worry much about it. That being said, I've also seen plenty of posts that indicate the complexity numbers are meaningless anyway. HOWEVER, regardless of whether the complexity number is a valid measurement or not, the point about the number of triangles is totally spot on. IMO, There is no reason for any hair to have that many.
