  1. * Blind TP's. * Merchants who sign me up for "Mailers" when I never purchased from them (culling groups). * Facelights of any size or shape. * Friendship offers from strangers, and a 4 min convo does not mean you're my friend. * People who friend you then never say another word to you for 2 years. * People who walk into my house and have to get ejected. * People who ask where I am from and how old I am after a 1 minute conversation. I'm sure there's more.
  2. Every shape I own is modifable. Where you shopping?
  3. If you're talking about the alpha mask, it does detach if you don't add. So shoes, say will lose their mask if you put on a skirt without "adding" the 2nd alpha mask. I made some mesh skirts, a 1/2 outfit. Lot of people are interested in the sample. LOL. When do we bother with samples? I think mesh has been here long enough.
  4. I feel your pain. I had similar issues on my mainland where my store is located... Club showed up (2), lots of lag, lots of problems. Crazy lady next door with scripts running in a house she never visited. Breedables all around. Horse guy showed up, set up a race track! Renter guy filled the sky with ugly blue orbs inside of which are rentals (everywhere!)...And Those 'cars" garage next door. Prisons with naked women tied up all day long (just knowing they were there rankled me), all manner of madness. There were days I couldn't move, lag was so bad. But, the clubs folded, lady moved, prison left, and now there's no lag. A few ugly buildings remain but other than that, it's ok. I say, wait it out. Clubs come and go. But, sorry you had to move. I complained too about the horses, but pfft, nothing... It's so hard to swallow when we're paying money to be ignored. ;=(
  5. I had this problem but it was my video card. I put a fan on my computer and my skin cleared up. Eventually bought a new card. SL eats video cards alive. Mine was a tower not a laptop.
  6. I just remembered a person who had a an affiliate store next to mine in a mall before I moved onto my own land. She was positioned well, next to a club, and other high end retailers. Her store was really nice, actually, and she kept up with seasonal decorations. The affiliate group was a high end designer...up to date on designs as I recall. I bought a few of her items. I totally forgot about her until just now re-reading these responses. Many affiliates I've seen have really OLD styles. And hideous buildings. One comes to mind near my own location. SO...if I ventured into that realm, I'd make sure the items were current or forget it... Way too many unbelievable designers these days to bother with those old designs. Fashions are moving fast here, and old clothes just aren't worth the time or money to market. I ran into my transferable items I'd given out for hunts (men and women items so that they could transfer to their partners) in a resalers store priced for a fortune! I'd given them away for free. I then noted she would buy anything transferable for her own store...pick them up at hunts and such. I'm very leery now to offer transferable items, which is a shame with his and her items. I'm too creative to sell others items. Really my advice??? SL is just a fantastic place to build! I'd chuck others designs and make my own, even like I did, starting out at the bottom rung and learning the hard way. Totally worth it.
  7. It's hard to get people into a store that is original content. I know...I work my butt off to get customers. So... I can't even begin to advise you...other than start a club or something and put your vendors around that...but the market is gluted and even hunts don't always bring paying customers. Times are hard for everyone.
  8. There are many copyright infringements in SL MP. Whoever titled that photo needs to wake up... anyways? LOL. Dumb.
  9. Kampu Oyen wrote: I must admit this is not exactly what I imagined in terms of offering selective help to in-world merchants as I predicted earlier. But it does make a bit of sense in any case. If LL doesn't really have any shiny new feature to enveil, they can just create a problem for what seems like everyone, and then solve it in a way that leaves it somewhat unsolved for certain users, thus making it easier for certain others to compete. So don't worry too much. They will fix this problem. In fact they might just fix it really, really well. Maybe just, in your case, not so much. What exciting name do you imagine they will give to the "new" and "improved" in-world search utility? They might never fix it, but would like an explaination as to why things are not being viewed. Not holding breath.
  10. I set up a case for this exact issue, and was told others are experiencing these problems. They gave me Jira links to submit a bug. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-4724 Search Listings Are Missing https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-4717 ALL Search Listings Are Frozen! (Including Classifieds, Land & Rentals, Places, etc) Before you click on these links, they are not about Market Place but it seems inworld searches. I'm flummoxed as to their customer service.
  11. It's scary how many of my items were never searched this year. But 2 years ago, I see everything searched, and good numbers. How does a gown that I made 2 years ago have over 5000 searches (on the site for 3 months) per one newer gown on the site 6 months with ZERO. For me this all started when they started fooling with MP. I think they maniupulate the data for (fill the blanks, because I don't wish to specultate too much). I did add some enhancements but if that fails to deliver, then.. I don't know, other than fashion is gutted.
  12. I can't log in today. I have been trying for 4 hours. ;-( I see some of my friends on. Lucky them!
  13. 1. Support got tired of me contacting them and shut down SL. OR 2. Anonymous struck again.
  14. Dartagan Shepherd wrote: Lately I've taken taken this approach to explaining how SL as not a game. No, it's not a game. It's work. In the time it takes you raid a town, you may have produced an item. In the time it takes you to complete a dungeon, you may be able to package your product. By the time you've earned 10,000 gold, you may have earned 100 linden donuts. By the time you've earned that epic gear, you may have gathered a few linden bears. By the time you've gotten a GM to answer your question and fix your problem, you got someone from LL to tell you to file a ticket. An expansion pack in LL costs $300 ... every month. SL is NOT a game. It's serious, buggy, costly and condescending business requiring far more patience than a game. You people out for entertainment value and relieving frustration from RL need to get a clue. ______________________________ Here. Here. I've worn many hats in life, have been a business manager for medical practices, a published novelist... and with those jobs, my efforts were rewarded. Here, in SL, I work 10 hour days, it seems working more and more for freebee groups and hunts (free), spinning wheels non-stop, and getting very little in return. Good for those making enough to call it income! I have an active blog, Over 300 Twitter followers, belong to blogging groups who blog my items. I do well at events, such as Fashion for Life (when they don't manipulate the landing points), and always try to be part of events because that's where I sell like hotcakes... It's very costly for us to run our businesses and I'm embarrassed to say how much time and money I put into this. I can't figure out Market Place and I've given up trying. I honestly think my store is invisble there. The tools offtered to run a business aren't very good. We rely on groups, and our own fuel to market, usually that fuel is making our designs and we have not time to do anything else. I have business and marketing experience but it's of no avail here. If you make breedables, sex things, animations or full perm items, you might have a shot, but the rest of us...not for the faint of heart.
  15. Famous Avi's? Well, there are some photographers and models who are well know, and many actually in the fashion industry. I think it depends on what you do in Second Life. People asking to to take profile pictures should be avoided unless there is evidence (in their profiles) that they actually take them. And why would they do that for free? Could be a "come on" to get closer to know your avatar better. I have a Twitter account (faye4kakia) and a blog Kakia Designs and I make clothes. Famous? No, but I am all over the Internet with a fast Google check. Many people have social networks with their avatars and, also, have many images uploaded. But, "famous" or perhaps "notorious" you mean? Either, or, it's what you take out of Second Life. As long as you're not uploading images, you should be fine.

  18. I put this here because I can't change my group land usage fees in any viewer. Is anyone else having problems? LL told me via chat to remove all my viewers and do clean reinstalls. Does this should right? Or will this really make a difference?
  19. I use ATI's auto updates and they were updated about a month ago. Heck maybe that was the problem? LOL But I just logged in with LL viewer and the blotchy is gone. Interesting. Guess I'll use their viewer for pics, but not sure I can get the same windlight settings I've created. Unfamiliar with their graphical side. Thanks all for helping. Blessings.
  20. The drivers are updated... it's not faint in SL. ... That's the problem ... The skin looks so bad. I think my graphics look bad lately. Thanks for looking.
  21. Ok, can someone please tell me why my skin looks blotchy? I've noticed this the past month or so. Same skin maker, nothing changed. Same system, same video card. Tried various skins and seeing same thing. Not seeing this on my laptop, so not sure if there is a setting I'm missing? I'm using Firestorm new release, however, same problem on Phoenix, just not as bad. It's not good for my photography work. ;-( I have searched around with no luck finding answers, so thought I'd pick the brains of some texture folks!
