I think you are more likely to be right than me. I seem unable to switch myself off from all the griefer-themed threads we've been having lately. I'm going to see if I can pop along and take a look. If there are icebergs, I have just got to see them :-)

Have you checked your land details to make sure you have auto-return set to return any objects that do not belong to you. At this moment, I can only think that your house is not losing parts, but someone is placing invisible prims over it to make it look so, possibly the "ice looking things". Actually, if you can, please upload a screenshot of the issue to your original post. It might be clearer what the problem is if we can see it. Welcome to Second Life Answers. Unfortunately the furry community in a virtual world is not treated the same as an ethnic minority group in real life. Individual sim owners can ban me as a red-haired girl if they so wish, or they can ban everyone whose name begins with a "W" if they so wish. It does seem a little sad that a long-standing policy has been changed in this way, but the sim owner must have their reasons. I hope you and your furry friends can find a new venue that will prove to be more community spirited.

Welcome to Second Life Answers, Epameinondas Did you happen to be standing close to a sim edge when your avatar deformed like this? As your avatar went back to normal a few seconds later, it just sounds like a little SL glitch. Regarding multiple items of clothing attaching to your avatar when you didn't select them, did you detach everything, and everything remove without any further problems? Again, were you standing close to a sim edge? It just sounds like something was confusing the servers, believing you to be in two regions at the same time perhaps. However, I am not 100% sure, and other responses may shortly follow. I agree with Rolig also. Just make another brand new alt. As the previous one's validation email was invalid, it will not count towards the maximum number of avatars allowed per household, which is officially five.

Welcome to Second Life Answers, Lezzy I am a tad confused too. It would be helpful to see your full computer specifications. Please edit your original post to add them. If your graphics drivers are up-to-date, but you sometimes can load a viewer, and other times not, then there is probably something else - ie memory, connection, but at the moment we can only speculate.

Welcome to Second Life Answers, Hunter. Are you using a wireless connection by any chance? If so, please try to use a hard wired. Please also reset your modem. It really sounds like connection issues, and resetting your modem might refresh it well for you. Ahhhh, they may know when your avatar is online, but there is no guarantee that you didn't disappear from your keyboard in the process of logging in, so didn't really truly log in at all (if you see what I mean) :matte-motes-confused::smileyvery-happy:

I think there might be a ready-made script somewhere on the internet. I used to have it, but have never got into scripting (it always looked complicated to me), and am unable to locate it in this moment.

As for you, Charolotte, I've been tracking you from day one (joke). But, yes, I can add your name to my tracking device, and see when you come online and go offline. It doesn't get so much use now the ghosting issue is over, but paranoid old me does have the names of this account and my alts tracked, just in case of ghosting and hackers.

I'm sometimes a bit clumsy with the forums protocols.

I think there were four sims together at the time, owned by the Alady lady. Noob had these houses and some apartments (like New York loft apartments) to use per session, and my old memory failed me a little, because the apartment that I rented was across a sim border in **bleep** Tuck. Remember the dodgems? They were fun. I used to take a lot of newbies over to Noob and Alady, because you're right about it being a great place to meet people and to learn the basics of doing stuff in Second Life. 

Welcome to Second Life Answers, Yes you can receive email notices when your friends logon. There is a device called an "avatar online tracker", which at the moment you can rezz inworld if you have a place to call your own, and it can be set up to send out notifications to your email. (Handily, you can have it notify you of up to 40 residents online/offline movements, whether on your friend list or not - I've found it invaluable when needing to contact store owners and landlords in the past). Please look inworld at my profile picks for the link to Conover products. You will find the device at that teleport location. It comes with easy to follow instructions.

I went premium, because I'd been spending time on a parcel of land when the owners of it were offline, and when it came up for sale I just felt I had to have it. It was just a 512m parcel of land, which I sold on for 4x the amount I originally paid for it. It is hard to believe now, because it is on a PG-rated sim, and although had a view of the sea, did not have any beach land with it. Linden homes were not in existence at the time. After that, I remained premium, because I wanted to buy more land. I only went up to owning half a sim at a time, paid for with profits made on selling land on bought for a profit mainly from auctions, and land other people had offered really cheaply, when paying tier had become a problem for them. When Zindra adult continent came into existence, I sold off all my land, except for the 512m landlocked parcel I call my home in SL (although I am rarely there). I remain a premium member, because with the weekly stipend, and being a low maintenance avatar, it means I only pay a few shillings a month to LL, and I have made use of the Live Chat service on numerous occasions, mostly with positive outcome. The occasional free gifts we get are neither here or there for me, certainly not enough of an incentive to go premium if I was not already premium, although the rail handcar was/is exceptional fun. However, the sandboxes that are available to premium members only are very handy, and griefer-free.

I must admit, I found it a little intimidating (not helped by the fact I always used to have my volume settings on FULL BLAST, and this dude had got full revs going on his car, and some loud music playing on it. My mentor/best buddie at the time told me and the others to go to his store, while he stayed to sort the problem out. Turns out, he caged Donnie, and left him there in my apartment caged. Both him and the cage had gone when I returned later. On another occasion, in the same apartment, some lads set some particle exploders off, and they turned my screen manic blue orange red. I shouted up to them "is that you dropped crap into my apartment" and they just laughed, called me a noob (I was a noob, and didn't feel offended at the term), and knew I didn't know about the abuse reporting feature. None of these silly attacks made me want to leave SL. Daft lads will be daft lads, and some of the griefer tools people use can be quite inventive and fun, if you just play along. People who push and name call are just boring and lack imagination, are probably very lazy and smelly in real life. And what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, and all that.
