  1. Out of curiosity, how loudly are these flaws screaming? (upload a photo so we can see please). In your shoes I would check I'd got the latest graphics drivers installed, and adjust my screen resolution. I rarely fanny about with the settings inworld, because it tends to get a bit like asking a cat to unwind a ball of wool.
  2. Welcome to Second Life Answers, Brownsugar2 Check in your Received Items folder in your inworld inventory. If you cannot find the item, then you need to click on the Second Life icon at the top left hand side of this screen, which will take you to your Dashboard/the home page. Down the left hand side is a link to your Account details, and transactions history. Cut and paste the details of the above item, and send it in a polite notecard to the seller, asking if he could redeliver it to you.
  3. I only realised we were into August, because my brother turned over the page of his girly calendar and I grumbled at yet another skinny beauty with perfect boobies who I have got to tolerate for the next month. (Actually, I think, while he is out today, I will doctor the photo and give the girl a moustache and a **bleep**!)
  4. I'm afraid you're unlucky this time, Luckystarcute :matte-motes-frown: the competition closed at midnight on 31st July, after running for around a month. People are, however, allowed to vote on one entry by giving kudos until 8th August. Please keep an eye open though for the next contest. Hopefully Linden Lab will run another one in the near future. In the meantime, if you haven't already done so, you can create a Flickr account and maybe have the chance of making the SL Flickr Picture of the Day - no prizes, just fun, and fame for the day. More information is given in the following link ... http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Inworld/SL-Flickr-Pic-of-the-Day/bc-p/1486943#M3138

Janelle Darkstone wrote: "Bangy" wasn't there when I checked earlier or Mari and I would've snuck over and taken another picture. :smileysad: But hopefully it's the best way to kickstart another torrent of silly pics, since the parcel with the plywood building to the west(?) is a build zone and you can rez a pose stand and drag it over to where she's sitting....... I'm guessing it's like 'Invasion of the Bodysnatchers' - they start off as pods, get placed on Abandoned parcels, and waterlands, and anywhere Gov Linden won't be looking - then they turn into similar-looking beings. This babe was under the water 3 or 4 days ago; doing yoga or something.
  7. "Boring people don't like creating their own experiences." Although this person is doing something that is interesting to them, it may be boring to someone else looking in. That is not to say they are a boring person, rather that they bore other people. Being boring is one thing, being bored is another. And finding something tedious is something else altogether. But there are these people - the ones who complain "I am bored", when in fact, if they could just apply themselves, they would realise they are very lucky, able-bodied people with a good brain, who need to use all these wonderful gifts and actually bother to do something. They are boring people, because they do not apply themselves, and realise they are very lucky, able-bodied people with a good brain, who do not appreciate all there is around them. They have no reason to be bored or boring.
  8. Tamara Artis wrote: For me it was some kind of a rule, that only boring people can get bored. But now I'm rethinking it 'cause it can't be so much boring people... Anyway, how people can feel bored in SL, and if they do, what keeps them staying logged in or coming back? I'm hearing it from random people that IM me, its like there are tons of avatars standing around and waiting for someone to amuse them! There are many threads here too, people saying they are bored in SL and don't know what to do. Or they left SL ages ago (because it was boring!) and now they are back and have nothing to do, its boring again so they ask someone to come and waste time trying to make them feel less bored? Some basic logic tells us that if one thing is boring, go and find some other. So what keeps people stuck? What keeps them waiting for things to happen instead of doing something on their own? Am going to start and blame boring people for lag! they are just standing in their SL homes and wasting resources. I still believe only boring people are truly bored. Others may feel they are bored, when in fact they have just reached a block/ a wall, where they probably have so many things they have wanted to do for a long time, but have forgotten how to move forwards. I hate myself for going to bed last night and having to sleep, for while I slept, my lovely partner was having a fab time in her time zone (several hours behind me), and I was missing out. Bored never. And sleeeeep is for those with nothing better to do. :matte-motes-impatient:
  9. Some would disagree - but thank you, for your kind words, valerie. I love you too. Big Huggssss :-)

But.. Why was it taken out?! I took so long to take it and work on it.. I am so disappointed.. Welcome to Second Life Forums, Funeral. (who put the "fun" into funeral :matte-motes-big-grin-wink:) It looks like your picture was possibly removed because, as lovely as it was, it had not followed the rules, and had been enhanced in some way afterwards. It can still be viewed in your photo collection. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/media/gallerypage/user-id/101926/album-id/13225/image-id/88595iE52FC4C1240BBDBD

  12. Charolotte Caxton wrote: True story, I logged into a well established sim just the other night and a male avatar was wearing the Movie Star group tag when he arrived. He quickly changed it to something else, but it was the first time I saw a sentient moving Movie Star, or a male one for that matter. 13. I think the modem needs resetting. I had repeated ruthing recently, and until I reset my modem, I continued to be ruthed each time I logged in. Grrrhhh!
  14. BabyMara wrote: I've tried everything from, trying to do a character test, to waiting until my inventory has completely loaded, to rebooting my computer. I don't know what else to do. Welcome to Second Life Answers, BabyMara How very frustrating. It does sound like you have tried everything. Take a deep breath. Work your way carefully through the Phoenix bake-fail information valerie has handily provided the link for in her post. Did you clear your cache? Also, when you relogged, did you try relogging into a nice empty sim, somewhere like Furball or Ponsonby? It often makes no sense, but what works for one person does not always work for another, and a tiny change in procedure, even if you are seemingly carrying out the same fixes again, can work the next time. Wishing you luck, and hope you will return to this thread to give us your results. 15. Thanks, MarillaAnne, for providing all this information - it's really useful to know. Regarding seemingly sarcastic or impatient responses from some, I would just like to add, we all do need to realise that as a brand new person, these forums can be difficult to navigate (heck, I still find them difficult to get around and I've been here yonks now), and as a newbie, I would not have known to type in "pink" or "DNS" into that search box, because already I would have just typed in my whole question and clicked the "enter" button. Just a reminder, that we all need to remain patient, welcome new people to the forums/answers; they're panicking about a problem that seems major in that moment. We're not going to be able to help everyone, but if we're feeling a bit impatient at seeing the same questions over and over again, maybe it's time we ourselves took a little break. Adjusting my attitude right now. :matte-motes-smile:
  16. Welcome to Second Life Answers, Paleda Please check your graphics drivers are up-to-date, and reset your modem. Then when you next log into Second Life, log into a different location - try Furball or Ponsonby (they are just empty Linden-owned waterland sims). You can add more to this thread by clicking on "options" at the top right hand corner of your original post and "edit". As Nalates says in her post, adding your computer specifications will help us to give you more advice too.
  17. Not enough blondes with impossibly pert boobies for my liking in that video :smileytongue: It's nice that LL got the residents of Second Life to be a proper part of the advertising campaign using real residents' videos in this way.
  18. Welcome to Second Life Answers, ConstanceMarie valerie's answer is correct. You will be sent a reminder to your email about a week or so before your next quarterly payment is due, and although you cannot pay in advance, you can just ensure you have enough funds in your account ready. Your agreement does not actually expire, the payments for your premium membership, which at this current time includes your Linden home, will continue to be taken from your account until/unless you decide you no longer with to be a premium member of Second Life. Please note also, you can own more land, but as well as the premium membership payments, there would also be tier fees. More information about land is over on the official Second Life Knowledge Base. It does cover payment of land, and is interesting to read up on. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Buying-land/ta-p/700043 Wishing you continuing enjoyment in Second Life.
  19. Robert69 Little wrote: as though I have not rights to go to Ahern without being subjected to abuse.. my avatar is deformed as I type.. do I expect Linden Lab to help on yet another AR filed? Not hardly. Ahern Welcome Area http://slurl.com/secondlife/Ahern/1/6/40 Come and see for yourself. Linden Lab are not your mum and dad. Start to grow up and act responsibly and you will not make yourself such a target to 'griefers' (also known as people having fun because you make it fun for them). Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish!
  20. Welcome to Second Life Answers, Victor You can have an inventory full of houses if you so wish, and instead of opting for a premium account, you could stay at basic level, and perhaps rent a parcel of land for the weeks you are feeling a little more affluent. More about owning and renting land, and what to do with land, fees, etc., is in the official Second Life Knowledge Base... http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Buying-land/ta-p/700043
  21. Welcome to Second Life Answers, Dream If you just wish to have your free holdings (ie not to have to pay tier fees on top of your premium membership), all you have to do is stand somewhere within your current Linden Home land, click on the land details, and opt to abandon your land. And then you are free to roam the world. If you open the world map, there is an option to view land for sale. It will show up as yellow. Teleport into sims and see if you like the 'feel' of the land, and check the size of the land by reading the land details. Then all you have to do is click on the option in the land details to buy the land. There is more details about buying land, including how to increase your land holdings, and how to join land, etc., in the official Second Life Knowledge Base... http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Buying-land/ta-p/700043 Good luck!
  22. Hello again, Marit Rolig's answer in this thread is correct. The abuse report system is the only official way to report abuse. Even if you do as I suggest in the other thread - contact Live Chat regarding the failure messages, or submit a support ticket - they will probably redirect you to the abuse report system. What I did write on your original thread, I can put here also, to save you the time and bother of returning to your other thread. Even when you think your abuse report has not gone through, it possibly has. I received a short suspension for "abuse of the system" when I attempted to send an abuse report about the same issue several times in just a few minutes, but because I had received failure messages on my screen, I did assume (like anyone would) that the abuse reports had not got through to the team who deal with abuse reports. If you own or manage the sim where your sandbox is located, it is possible that Linden Lab are expecting you to eject and ban griefers, have management people with rights to do this. Other responses may also follow. Please do not start another new thread about this issue. ***** Edited to add. Set the sandbox permissions so that only group members can rezz anything or use scripts. Ensure also that only avatars over a certain number of days can access your sim. If the griefers that use your sandbox are repeat offenders coming in on alts, this may deter them somewhat.
  23. There have been a lot of people saying lately that they're not receiving confirmation of the submitted abuse report to their email, but I have found that, even when an error message has come up on the screen, the abuse reports have been getting through. You might wonder how I know this; I resubmitted an abuse report ten times, getting the error message and no confirmation email each time, and found myself suspended for an hour "for abuse of the system" ! If you own or manage the sim and always get the error message, you could sound out Live Chat, or even submit a support ticket, to ask for reassurance that your issues are being dealt with. I don't think that would be too much to ask them to look into.
  24. Welcome to Second Life Answers, chemisesub Posting your full computer specifications here would be enormously helpful. It sounds like you may be having issues with your graphics card. Perhaps you simply need to update the graphics drivers. To add more to this thread, you can do so by clicking on "options" at the top right hand corner of your original post and "edit".
  25. You are always at liberty to start a protest - if you mean you want to make placards, gather people together, and march through the streets to say something is wrong. There are plenty of groups inworld that are anti-this and anti-that too. However, if you believe there is something in Second Life that shouldn't be in Second Life, it's better to contact Linden Lab directly, either via the abuse report system inworld, or via a snail mail to their head office. If you feel there is something that is seriously against the law, Linden Lab will deal with it if they are made aware of it, but if you feel they are not dealing with an issue, then you can go to the law enforcement agency of your own country and lodge a complaint.
