  1. That's what happened to me today. I have an alt that was set to expire today, and I was determined to let her go to Basic. Wouldn't you know, she landed a lovely sunset view houseboat?
  2. I know it’s a real place, because we were neighbors at one point. Can’t remember where it was, though.
  3. I use the standard SL viewer and teleport history is also easily accessible. That’s how I keep track of my abandons. It doesn’t prevent my alts from trading the unwanted abandons back and forth. I lucked out today, though. 😊
  4. @Eva Nova I hope that you were able to get your “double wide” fixed with Live Chat. I’ve run into that problem a lot when I’ve gotten a camper. They were always able to resolve my problem quickly.
  5. I'm late to this thread, however, I believe it's never too late to get married. As others have said, it can be too late to have a biological child, however, I was open to loving somebody's children from a previous relationship. When I got married in 2000, it was the first marriage for my husband and me. I was 48 and he was 45. Neither of us had children. People would be jaded when they learned of our engagement, because the assumption was that this had to be our second or third marriage. When they found out it was our first (and so far only) time, they became excited for us. It took forever for me to find my soulmate. I'm grateful that I got to have him in my life, even though his was cut short in 2007. He would have made a great father, I think. After his death, SL became a haven for me. I was happily independent before I got married. In some ways it was a huge adjustment at the ages we were, but I wouldn't have traded our marriage for anything in the world.
  6. I had it too for a brief moment. Loved the location but wanted more green.
  7. You are historically correct, but as a flower child of the Sixties; it was almost universally known as a "peace symbol". The whole mid-century modern that people are so enamored with these days, that's what I grew up with. Been there, done that.
  8. @gizmatron77I don't have a handy guide. I generally stumble into a release, like Whispering Creek. I hadn't realized it had been released when I landed a spot there. Then I didn't keep it. When Game of Homes was in full swing a year or so ago, there was a lot more posting about releases here. People who use Firestorm (which I don't most of the time) are able to track regions and get an idea of when a new region would be released. I hope one of those people chimes in about their methodology. I have several alts that I use to find beautiful abandons. It's a lot tougher when you have to give up a parcel before you can try for another. There are more homes available consistently on the land page now that new releases seem to be quietly slipped into the queue.
  9. I would have loved that. I used to live in SF, and I miss it at times.
  10. @Evangeline LingI got that you weren’t a fan of the Chalets. I was really disappointed in the landscaping at the reveal of that theme. I live near a faux Bavarian town, and I’m not crazy about visiting it in RL. You’ve raised many valid points with the newest theme.
  11. That’s the way I felt about the chalets at the great reveal. Uninspired. By the time the regions were released, though, the landscaping was a lot more lush. As the design evolved, a lot of water elements were introduced. I’m reserving judgement on the new theme.
  12. What were you hoping for? I hope it doesn’t come across as snarky, because I am genuinely interested in knowing. I kind of figured it would be modern. That was my favorite style in the old Linden homes. I’m glad that there will be a choice between 512 and 1024s. That’s something new and unexpected.
  13. I was wondering if it was you! 😊
  14. Thanks, Cinnamon! Grote Dijk is one of those regions that I longed for when the Vics were released. I was very surprised to get it today. I think people are already giving up great parcels in anticipation of the next theme.
  15. As usual, I didn't keep my last beautiful abandon. My alt landed this lovely spot in Grote Dijk this morning. Thank you to whomever gave it up!
  16. Update: That phenomenon didn’t last long.. Blink and you missed it. Campers back on the land page. Just saw a Victorian show up first on the land page. No campers! I don’t think that I’ve ever seen that before. A Trad, a Houseboat, but never a Vic!
  17. Still in Maintenance at 10:54 a.m. SLT I'll be releasing this sunset view Stilt on Pier. I actually landed a Stilt on Land that is on the water. Can't justify being greedy and keeping both, considering how hard they are to come by. I'll be letting it go today (Saturday) at 10:30 a.m. SLT. Here's the link if you want to check it out: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Null Quay/55/56/23
  18. When I paid a second visit to hopefully discover Slendie's bucket of candy, I saw his watchful presence in the sky above me.
  19. There were a few campers, a stilt on pier (!), and a Trad this morning. I flipped the same camper twice. I took it as a sign to keep it for now. @Leora Jacobus
  20. The portal's been activated! I just got transported to Mirror Pond!
  21. It took awhile before they both rezzed for me.
  22. I have been on an ongoing search for a houseboat location that's on the corner of a beach with a sunset view. Also where I can use my two favorite houseboat styles -- the Evening Star and the Wallower. Thank you to whomever gave up this gem in Hunky Dory!
  23. Let me know where you live, @Chuckey Jigsaw. I’ll stroll by with my Zooby baby and dog. I promise not to pop in. In RL, I hate pop ins. 😎
  24. @MaitimoI know exactly what you mean about the stilts. They have a lot of the elements that I love. I even landed one in Seaprise on my late mother’s birthday. It had this incredible view of the lighthouse. My favorite things! I managed to keep it a couple months. Back in the pool it went for someone else to appreciate and enjoy. Or maybe it’s the tumbleweed in me.
