Cassie, I feel your pain, because I've been there since May 15. Yesterday's release was kind of confusing. @Patch Linden and @Derrick Linden were teasing the folks in the Belli Citizens chat about when they would be releasing new regions. My bet was on Gangway, and I thought that would be my best chance for a houseboat. I hadn't really considered Walrus Beach because there were only a few houseboats there. As it turned out, the stars aligned and I saw a Belli house and houseboat pop up. I clicked on the houseboat--and for once--I got it! I wondered why I had no neighbors on my side of the sound. I was the only houseboat on my side that is in the Walrus Beach region. The houseboat next to mine is in Beluga Sound. Across the way from me there are only a handful of houseboats in Walrus Beach. The rest are in Porthole. I'm crossing my fingers that your dream houseboat will be available to you soon!

There have been a few houseboats in recent releases. I’ve got my fingers crossed that more will be available this week if the Porthole and Gangway regions are released. They look like they’re almost ready to go.

I like seeing your predictions, however, Limevale doesn't seem like it's ready to go. The river runs through the region. The west side is undeveloped. Maybe a few more houses could fit over there.

Only recently have I been able to do any catching and releasing. I think the supply is beginning to catch up with the demand, as far as the traditional houses are concerned. (Thank you, Moles!) The houseboats have eluded me, however. For me, the perfect location would be on the water in a lush green environment. I invested in a premium account for my alt, in order to cast my line for the mythic houseboat. My main avi has hung onto a corner lot in Emerson Lake, which I lucked into, after someone abandoned it on May 15. So far I haven’t come across a new location that has tempted me to give up that house. Pearlcoast pretty much fit my criteria. Of course, the moment I needed to attend to RL duties is when that region was released. Oh, well. The search continues.

This is the first time that I got a house during a release. It was my alt that got it, because I've been trying for a houseboat, since May 15. I kept hitting the "try another style", and I managed to get two houses that way. Keep hitting the sold out link, and eventually you'll get lucky. I returned both to the pool.

It’s taken me 8 years to get an open view in the old Linden homes. I remember when they first came out, and there were all these seemingly empty homes that were on the edges of the continents. Oh how I envied those people. I’ve bounced around in recent months and have had some pretty nice locations. I hope it won’t take 10 years to get on the water in Bellisseria.

I don’t know about that. I only had contact with him one time. We were both traveling on the ferry. Before I could take his photo, he was off like a shot when we landed at the dock. His human alter ego indicated that he doesn’t talk. I’m used to cats being aloof. 😊

When I toured them at the Home & Garden Expo, that was kind of my reaction. It was before I knew that you could swap out the house or houseboat styles. That was kind of a game changer for me. The excitement that has grown reminds me of my early days in SL. 😊

Good one! I thought I’d bring up market research, since I only became vaguely aware of the new houses in March. I hadn’t been following the SSP thread, since last August. I figured I could have missed something. I’ve become well read in the last couple of months, though.

I’m not sure if Linden Labs conducted market research before planning this new continent. I’ve been in SL, since 2006, and have had a premium account a couple times. It wasn’t until now that I really could see the benefit of going premium. If LL did poll the residents, I never was contacted. I would have voted for a houseboat, though (still eludes me).

That’s how I got my house on May 15. I missed the big release and someone must have abandoned it for either a houseboat or better location. You just never know when it will be your opportunity. I’ll be delighted for you when you share your good fortune

I had wondered why Patch had not stuck with his original decision to not announce when the region releases would occur. My assumption was that he wanted to keep the residents informed of the progress. Unfortunately it seemed to whip up a frenzy of auto-refreshing instead. I never got the error message, even after his last announcement of the change. Maybe my connection is slower than I thought.

I got a kick out of landing in Emerson Lake and then realizing that Palmer Lake was next door. Somebody’s a fan of Emerson, Lake and Palmer. At first I thought it was named after Ralph Waldo Emerson. 😊

Marianne, I think you have been one of those people who did the catching and releasing. I think I have a pretty fast connection. But I'm not fast enough in my execution of clicking on the TOS agreement. Plus I haven't come across a houseboat yet.

I’m not a statistician, however, the interest that has been generated in these homes since April is phenomenal. Once people started using auto-refresh, I knew I was doomed. I was just lucky to stumble across an abandoned house on May 15. My alt’s search for my dream houseboat has been fruitless. The people who manage to catch and release homes on a daily basis amaze me.

I have a house in the northern part of the continent. When I ride around Bellisseria on my bike or horse, I’m getting lost half the time—even with the mini-map. Although I appreciate the unique nature of this project, I wouldn’t mind an exact duplicate placed somewhere else in SL. Maybe the folks that have been participating in the SSP thread since last August would be able to see the similarities. I doubt that most people would notice or care. At least the homeless would have a greater chance of getting a house or houseboat in this millennium.

There were breedable shoes about five years ago.

Horses are usually about 14 or 16 prims. I’ve been through phases where I’ve not had a home. It definitely is a trade off. 😅

If these horses are for sale, then it’s a commercial venture. That would be against the covenant. I love my Amaretto horses, too. I don’t sell them, and they’re in a skybox on another region. I’ve never had a complaint about lag or hogging resources from either my landlord or region neighbors.
