  2. I finally managed to stay at Shoetopia without crashing for a while last night and picked up a few demos but it's a bit of a nightmare getting around it, huge wide staircases with little store kiosks off it accessed via more steps, a wide central walkway with more stores and then the same again across a bridge. A lot of walking or flying and lots of time waiting for things to rez. I heard one plaintive cry "Can anyone at CANDYDOLL please TP me?
  3. The sim had issues recently but according to a note from Bax Coen, these issues were now fixed but I had terrible problems the other night. The teleport landed me on the ground instead of in the mall which is some 200m up and when I eventually got there, I just crashed all the time. Hopefully it's behaving better now.
  4. Yes, just three days to go until the Day of the Doctor special premieres on BBC One. For those of us in the UK and Ireland, it's scheduled to start at 7.50pm on the 23rd November. I understand it will air simultaneously in more than 75 countries across the world so you'll have to figure out the time wherever you live. For America's east coast it's 2.50pm and for the west coast, 11.50am. Also available to view in some movie theatres in 3D apparently. Seems though the Dr Who regeneration from Matt Smith to Peter Capaldi is not scheduled to occur until Christmas Day when the current Dr Who, Matt Smith, meets his doom. 5. You can't right click the land in a Linden Home as the home itself covers the entire 512sm. I don't use Firestorm but is there a World Menu along the menu bar at the top? If so, select World > About Land the click the Abandon button in the General tab. Make sure you've taken up all your possessions first to Inventory or they will be returned in a coalesced object to your Lost & Found folder.
  6. Make sure you're following the guidelines and what is accepted payment methods. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Billing/ta-p/700037#Section_.3 If still having problems, call Billing Support: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Billing/ta-p/700037#Section_.3 You may be lucky and be in a country with a toll-free number, if not, you'll have to call the tolled US number but you could use Skype to save on cost if you wish. Billing Support is open 24/7.
  7. That's brilliant Maddy! I didn't know about Hippiestock and its space odyssey. :smileyhappy: I've heard of pub crawls (even gone on some) but a Mars crawl...now that must be something! :smileyvery-happy:
  8. I'm sure most people don't realise you can have a very personal interest in NASA missions. NASA often include compact discs on the spacecraft containing the names of members of the public who have signed up for it. I'm currently touring the asteroid belt with the DAWN spacecraft and also on my way to Pluto, the last planet to be visited by spacecraft, with the NEW HORIZONS spacecraft. Obviously I've blocked out my name and certificate number in these scans. Note Pluto was still a planet in 2005 but of course is now designated a dwarf planet or plutoid. http://dawn.jpl.nasa.gov/ Having already visited the asteroid Vesta, DAWN will reach the asteroid Ceres (classed as a dwarf planet now) in March 2015. Where the spacecraft is now: http://dawn.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/live_shots.asp http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/newhorizons/main/ NEW HORIZONS will pass by Pluto on the 15th July 2015 then go on out to the Kuiper Belt. Where the spacecraft is now: http://pluto.jhuapl.edu/mission/whereis_nh.php
  9. This thread reminded me I have some NASA transparencies and press release notes dating back to before Cassini was launched. They should have been returned to NASA but ...! This was at a time when NASA posted out press releases, probably do it all online now. I've scanned one of the transparencies, which is of two solid rocket motor upgrades waiting to be attached to the Titan IVB launch vehicle for the Cassini mission.

  11. Thanks for posting Dillon. Yes, I knew about it, in fact I was out in my garden waving as the photo was being taken as NASA had given the time and asked people to wave. If you magnify that little dot a few million times, you'll see me! :smileyvery-happy:
  12. Linden Lab uses a standard About Land window for the Linden Homes so while It is possible to click the Allow Deed to Group box, you can't actually deed it. Excerpt from the Knowledge Base: Linden Home land can't be group-owned. But if your personal Resident account is eligible for Linden Home land, you can set the land to a group to collaborate with other group members.
  13. If you're referring to the page where you fill in your name, first line address, city and card details, I just updated my Billing Info this morning and there was an orange Submit button at the bottom. See image below: If you're not seeing the Submit button, I suggest you contact Billing Support: https://support.secondlife.com/billing-support/ Once you've added your payment details, click the plus sign to the right of buying $L in the viewer, web and premium fees etc. (if applicable), then click the radio button beside your card details in the pop-up requester box and finally click Continue.
  14. I should have added that if your problem in sending L$ continues, you should call Billing Support or submit a ticket. https://support.secondlife.com/billing-support/
  15. No, I'm not having a problem sending Lindens. To buy Lindens inworld, you need to set this up from your Dashboard > Account > Billing Information > Set Payment Methods > Buying L$ in the viewer.
  16. You will have to join the group the landlord or landlady has set up for tenants to allow them rez items in the houses as well as other permissions. This is the usual way rentals work. Send an IM to the landlord/landlady and ask to be added to the group although he/she should have invited you shortly after you paid the rental vendor. Check your Lost and Found folder for your returned object.
  17. I'm a little confused by you saying you downgraded to Basic and when you were still being charged, cancelled your Premium membership. They are one and the same thing. Ensure you have sold or abandoned any mainland holdings you may have owned or abandoned a Linden Home if you had one. Do any land holdings show up in your Dashboard > Land Manager? We're just residents like you and have no access you your account. Other than Moderators, it's unlikely any Lindens even read Answers and none ever reply here. You should contact Billing Support who should be able to help you solve this issue. https://support.secondlife.com/billing-support/
  18. We're just residents like you and have no way of knowing why the transfer failed. You need to contact Billing Support who should be able to help. https://support.secondlife.com/billing-support/
  19. Hi SpyderAlice, AMD bought the graphics card manufacturing company ATI a few years ago, left it as ATI for a while then later absorbed ATI into the parent company and renamed the cards AMD. Some Nvidia cards were also affected by this pink bug but it was mainly ATI/AMD cards and driver updates fixed it. You shouldn't still be seeing pink so it may be something went wrong with your update. I'll try and help but really need to know: 1. What card do you have (I know it's AMD but what model)? 2. What Catalyst version you are using? 3. Are you using a laptop or desktop? Open SL to login screen (no need to login) then select Help > About Second Life. Copy/paste the information in the window that opens into this thread. The info will likely just show the graphics card series so, as mentioned above, please advise the exact card you have.
  20. Marigold is correct. Mine has always been taken automatically the morning after the due date and you should receive an email from Linden Lab tomorrow confirming payment has been processed. LL used to send an email a week or so prior to the due date reminding members the date was approaching but that practice ceased about a year ago. If you don't receive an email tomorrow, you can check the position with Billing Support https://support.secondlife.com/billing-support/
  21. Great video clip Karen. Thanks for posting it. All those years to get to the surface and then a mere eight minutes to reach us! While this video is the result of two days satellite data at various wavelengths, even just visually observing the Sun in real time through a hydrogen-alpha solar telescope can be an amazing experience. It depends how active the Sun is of course but it's believed to be very close to solar maximum at the moment so very active and there are usually filaments, sunspots and wonderful prominences of various types and sizes to be seen and of course the gorgeous orange peel look of the Sun's surface. If extremely lucky, an observer may catch a flare, sadly I haven't as yet but I can watch prominences change shape and even detach from the sun over a period of hours. I recall well the first time I observed the Sun through a pair of h-alpha solar binoculars and was amazed by the view. Now I own a SolarMax II h-alpha solar telescope http://www.optcorp.com/ci-smt60-10-solarmax-ii-60-h-alpha-solar-0-7a-telescope-bf10.html and use it whenever I can. If there is an astronomy club near you, enquire if it runs public solar observing days through h-alpha telescopes and if so, go along and have a look. Depending on what solar scopes the members have (preferably 60mm-90mm), you should get a view like this: http://www.space.com/15679-sun-observing-solar-eclipse-venus-transit.html
  22. Hi ComandorLV. Welcome to SL. Based on the limited information given, I have absolutely no idea and I doubt anyone else will either. Using Options/Edit to the right of your post, please add a lengthier explanation of what your problem is and hopefully then you will get some answers.
  23. Hi Arch! Hope you're keeping well. It may be what Cerise Sorbet says is a bug in this thread. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/General-Discussion/Red-on-the-minimap/td-p/1928923 Nyll
  24. There seems to be issues with some pages at the moment, for example the Linden Home page (see thread above) and the grid status page is throwing up a security certificate issue. I can access my Dashboard fine though.
  25. I see exactly what you're seeing with the Linden Home page although my Dashboard loads fine. There seems to be issues with the website at the moment, perhaps maintenance. Even the grid status page is throwing up a security certificate issue.
