  1. Sounds like you have a very bad network connection. I'm currently on a business trip and at a hotel with "high speed wireless" Yeah right I can't move once I rezz and can't TP either. Sounds alot like your issue. You should do a speed check on your network connection and see what it says. Just google speed test and there are a few sites you can use. --Cinn
  2. Sign up bonus for premium is paid after 45 days. Weekly stipend is paid every Tuesday. --Cinn
  3. No Lindens here. Just residents helping residents. How come you don't have enough land permissions to use the About Land / Objects tab and return the items yourself. Frankly I wouldn't rent a spot without control over the prim count. I suggest you contact your landlord to remove these items if he/she wasn't kind enough to give you the permissions to do it yourself And then I'd move to a rental spot that did. --Cinn
  4. Oh, and Berlin? Please go to your Dashboard page and watch some of the wonderful educational videos there. They will answer alot of your questions. --Cinn
  5. Nope. Nothing to do extra. If someone sends you linden, you will receive a blue notice and the linden will be deposited into your account. --Cinn
  6. Oh, a quick note. One reason that the ceilings are higher than normal is that the normal avatar camera view is behind and above your avatar. As you lower the ceiling, what you will discover is that you reach a certain point that when you zoom out to look at a room, your camera goes behind the ceiling and you can't see the whole room anymore. So experiment. I agree that most ceilings are too high. People like to go the max 10m quite often. Some build at 8m. Going down to 5-6m is closer to normal but you will start seeing that camera zoom problem at that height. --Cinn
  7. You may also want to make sure it is Copyable too. Unless you are comfortable with your building skills, best to work on a Copy Modify object where you can always revert back to the original if you mess up --Cinn
  8. Oh yes one more thing. Change your password before he does more serious damage. --Cinn
  9. Yes its possible. --Cinn Can I uncancel an account? Yes! Do this if your account is pending cancellation or has already been cancelled: Login at the Support Portal and click New Ticket Submission. Select Ticket Type: Special Questions. 10. Hi Bryn, All you need is a totally clear texture. If you are inworld, I will send you one. --Cinn PS Texture sent along with an IM. Just apply it to the back side only of your scene. (using the Select Texture in Edit) If you apply it to the whole prim, you will have an invisible prim on your hands
  11. Agree with BlckCobra. Good chance that the contents of your folder got "consumed" by one of your other rezzed objects like the floor and can be found in the contents tab of the object. This would be particularly true if the original contents were nocopy items. --Cinn
  12. Could be a graphics preference setting. If you have Hardware Skinning turned on, you can sometimes get strange results on how avatars appear. Wiki article below tells you how to turn it off. --Cinn http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Fixing_avatar_appearance Fixing avatar appearance From Second Life Wiki Second Life Wiki > Knowledge Base > Fixing avatar appearance Jump to: navigation, search Template:Needs Translation/de Template:Needs Translation/es Template:Needs Translation/el Template:Needs Translation/fr Template:Needs Translation/he Template:Needs Translation/it Template:Needs Translation/ja Template:Needs Translation/ko Template:Needs Translation/nl Template:Needs Translation/hu Template:Needs Translation/no Template:Needs Translation/da Template:Needs Translation/sv Template:Needs Translation/tr Template:Needs Translation/pl Template:Needs Translation/pt Template:Needs Translation/ru Template:Needs Translation/uk Template:Needs Translation/zh-Hans Template:Needs Translation/zh-Hant If not intentional (because Second Life avatars allow for a vast range of customization), this issue typically makes your avatar appear black or in otherwise bizarre colors. It may also show spikes, bumps, and other unsightly protrusions coming out of your body. For example, this guy's head is missing and his clothes are black. That can't be good: First, check your graphics card to make sure it's supported and the drivers are up-to-date. Learn more. Also, move the Second Life Viewer onto your primary monitor, or change your primary monitor in your computer's display control panel. Sometimes having the Viewer on your secondary monitor can mess up graphics. If the problem still persists: Go to Edit > Preferences. Click Graphics tab and check Custom to show additional options. Uncheck Hardware Skinning. Click OK" button to confirm, and see if that resolves the issue. You may also need to restart the Viewer. Why, you're looking a lot better, Mister! If there are still glitches on your avatar, try rebaking textures.
  13. Sim lag. The worse the lag the more often it happens to me. Usually I just have to slow down and wait for things to catch up. It seems worse on the ground so I've taken to building on a sky platform when I can. Hope that helps a little. --Cinn
  14. You are correct. You cannot upload prim meshes today. Linden pre-announced Mesh importation at SLCC 2009 --Cinn During T Linden's road map presentation at SLCC 2009, a sneak peek was shown for Mesh importation into Second Life, along with dynamic lighting and shadows:

Thanks in advance JImbo™ Seems to me your best source is to call the Billing department for guidance. 16. Moral of the story: If you plan to leave SL for awhile and you are a premium account, downgrade to basic first. --Cinn
  17. mmm....Eyebrows are usually part of the skin. You can modify them by Editing Appearance/ Hair / Eyebrows Assuming of course the skin you are wearing allows them to be modified (mine does not ) You can control Size, Density, Height, Arc and Points --Cinn
  18. Sounds like your pet snakes were playing with the transporter again I'm guessing the 2 objects went off-world and not the home. But what the heck does going off-world mean? I think maybe we are talking alien abductions here. --Cinn
  19. Hi Arachana, Sounds like part of the house is trying to rez over the property line. That's why you are getting the blue box message. Drag the house to a different location more in the center of your land. Once rezzed, you can then slide it into place. --Cinn
  20. LOL I think Irene and I are insync this morning
  21. well that is odd. As owner you should always be able to rez objects on your own land. Have you tried a simple thing like just rezzing a box? Also, is the Build button showing available when you are on your land? --Cinn
  22. No. Afraid that the position arrows stay in the center of the prim. And as you pointed out, when working with megaprims, you cannot always see to the edges and see the center position at the same time. You really need to use the coordinate values to do final adjustments. As a low prim builder, I work with megaprims all the time. Here are a couple of things I do to make my life easier. Never start building at angles if you can avoid it. If you have terrain issues, put up a build platform to work from. You can always rotate your build into place after the pieces are aligned properly. Start with your pieces on whole number coordinates. Since megaprim are fixed in size, calculations are fairly easy. And buy a build rezzer. I use Rez Faux myself but I'm sure there are other good ones out there. That way you can build "with the grain", package your build without worrying about parts being too far to link and then move it into final position by just tweaking and twisting the rez box. I also know there are prim alignment tools available and considered getting one at one time. But by just taking more control over where and how I built, I found them unnecessary for the builds I do. --Cinn
  23. You don't mention a graphics card in your list. Do you happen to know what it is and what drivers you are running with it? --Cinn
