  1. For XP probably 2GB is a good number as long as you don't plan to do alot of multitasking. If you were doing Vista or Win7 I would go to 4GB minimum --Cinn
  2. You didn't say what operating system you plan to run. I would add more memory if you can afford it. Everything else looks pretty good to me. --Cinn
  3. Gangus.Nubalo wrote: How do you parcel land of a quarter sim so that there are separate URLs and different music streams can be used.....? Pretty simple actually. Right click on the land and choose Edit Terrian. Select the section you would like by dragging the mouse over the land. Land will be selected with a yellow border in 16sqm segments. Once you have the size you want click the Subdivide button. --Cinn PS Search the video tutorials on the dashboard for Land. Some great samples on how to do this.
  4. Returned items always go to their owner. Doesn't matter what the land ownership is set to. That includes group deeded objects if any. They are also returned to the original owner. I assume you have looked for? This is where multiple items are packed into a single object. Icon looks like building blocks and the name used is random and useless. This is how objects are returned if someone uses the Land Object return --Cinn
  5. ..See, I usually don't mind what most people thank or say about me, but doing something that upsets or hurts someone I love or care about...Well....I tend to get a tad upset...To put it mildly... Which is why you need to do this with full support of your partner. If you both cannot agree to this approach then no sense in it. But be prepared for a much longer battle. Keeping the "conversation" going just encourages the harrasser. He harrasses to make your life miserable. If you respond than he wins. Your choice. --Cinn
  6. Along with the other fine suggestions, the other thing you both need to do is DO NOT RESPOND to the harrassment. Say nothing. Mute them as they come. Don't be tempted to engage in verbal arguments hoping to get "stuff" to send in the AR. You will just prolong the problem. 99 out of 100 times the harrasser will get bored when they can't get a reply. But you have to be absolutely firm on this. One response and you will undo weeks of work. --Cinn
  7. It's actually in the Community Standards which are referenced by the TOS --Cinn Duplicate information removed. See Ann's post
  8. A little bit in the wiki. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/User:Andrew_Linden/Office_Hours/2008_10_23 Arawn Spitteler: Expired Region Handoff, when the region you were in forgets about you, but the region you're entering doesn't figure out what you are? Siobhan McCallen: sounds about right Maggie Darwin: Wither servers split between colos and traffice between them routed though a VPN...well... Sindy Tsure: no.. it recovers, arawn.. you go flying off into space for a while first, though Andrew Linden: region crossings are still fragile. there is more than one way for them to break --Cinn
  9. Sheesh. Someone needs to shoot this thread and drag the body out to the back 40 for the coyotes to eat. --Cinn
  10. Try using a secondary email address. Legal one of course Also, clear your browser cache or use a different browser to avoid the web application from picking up stored information. --Cinn
  11. Well give it the standard treatment. Clear cache and reboot.
  12. Hi Kellylee, Off the top of my head, sounds like the sim you are in might be busy or lagged. Couple ideas. TP to another sim that is not so busy and try there. Also possible that you could copy and paste the contents of the AO notecard into a new notecard and place that into your AO. I offer the last suggestion only if you are comfortable playing with and changing the contents of your AO. I've had this problem with other devices that use notecards in their contents for configuration and have found that I can sometimes replace the notecard when it won't save the old one. --Cinn
  13. Hi Austin A couple things you can do. First, look in your Inventory under Calling Cards. Even if you accicently remove someone from your friends list, the calling card remains in your inventory unless you go anad delete it. Assuming you know the name of your friend, you can view their profile and you can IM them to see if they are online. If you belong to the same group as your friend, you can look them up in the group list and it will tell you the last time that the person was in SL. Hopefully one of those things will help your search --Cinn
  14. Well if Linden would revamp the search criteria to exclude traffic data, none of this would matter. Until then, current interpretation of the rules are all over the map. Malls with minimal camping are being hassled while bot farms and camping locations with dozens of spots remain open for business and high on the search listings --Cinn
  15. Any object that rewards a resident with money or gifts for staying on a land parcel for a period of time is an illegal camping device because it causes the resident to spend time on the parcel waiting for the reward and there by games the parcel's traffic. If the parcel is not listed in search then none of the above applies. All those people who say that the traffic gaming rules only apply to bots are dead wrong. Business owners are being targeted for any device that falls into that catagory and suspended for any resident who happens to stay too long on their property. It's no wonder the SL economy is starting to falter. --Cinn
  16. I hate posting to an answered thread but to be honest, for the most part SLAnswers is self-moderating. I know I've answered hundreds for questions since hanging out here. I've only felt the need to report one thread to Lexie. She responded the next day by locking the thread and deleting quite a few of the posts that got out of control. Overall I think the process works. --Cinn
  17. Yes really. She moderates the SLAnswers forum. You can pull up her profile and look at her recent posts. They will usually be the last one in the thread. --Cinn
  18. Feature was removed months ago during the beta phase. Easiest way to report an abusive posting is to email Lexie Linden --Cinn
  19. They will always show for you. You need to have someone else (like an alt or good friend) look at them to see if they are properly hidden from view --Cinn
  20. Hi Pylly, The object name is almost always in the converstion string like a standard chat dialog. It follows the timestamp and ends at the colon MystiTool HUD 1.3.1: MystiTool Controller: /1 help So it this case MysiTool HUD 1.3.1 is the object name. Just open the Mute List and input it Exactly as it appears. I know its a tad overwhelming when the messages are coming that quickly, but along with the other suggestions here, getting the objected muted will let you deal with the situation. --Cinn
  21. It's very likely that most skins will look ok with your shape. The skin will not change the dimensions of your shape. And there is no harm in trying on various skins or even other shapes. Just make a couple backups of the one you have now. A simple way to do that is to Edit Appearance and then Make Outfit. Choose to copy everything. You will see the boxes to check. Give it a name like Default Look or some such thing. Believe me, once you are comfortable with the fact that you can always get back to a default look that you like, playing with shapes and skins can be a blast --Cinn
  22. Ok try this. Go to your Dashboard. Under Linden Exchange choose Manage. When the menu expands choose Sell L$ That will take you here Enter the quantity of Linden you wish to exchange and it will give you a current estimate of how many US dollars that will be including the transaction fee. --Cinn
  23. Go to you Dashboard page. On the left is the Linden Exchange menu. Open that and select Market Data. That will have the latest exchange rates. --Cinn
  24. What happened when you muted the object?
  25. Hi Pylly, I already responded to your first question. Did you not see the answer? --Cinn
