  1. Sizes really are all over the map. The main thing to remember is that all dimisions can be divided by 4 because the 4x4 (16sqm) is the foundation for land size. In general 512 is 16x32 1024 goes square at 32x32, 1536 at 32x48 and 2048 tends to be 32x64 --Cinn
  2. Then it sounds like your question's been answered. --Cinn
  3. Hi Aurie, There are 3 basic ways to control your camera: the hud, the Alt key with keyboard (up arrows, down arrow, etc) and the Alt key with mouse. Which one is giving you the problem? And have you tried all three methods to see which works best for you. Personally I like the Alt-mouse for fast cam movement and the Alt-keyboard for finer control. I threw the hud away months ago. There is also a great thread on freezing your avatar for photos and I will link it here when I find it --Cinn
  4. Are you wearing the skin you got ? The title sounds like it might belong to a skin since it mentioned Skin Expo. It could be a demo skin and its very common for creaters to place some type of obvious label on their demos. Remember a skin and eyes and shape are worn just like shirts and pants. Quick edit: you can't take off skin or shape or eyes. You have to wear a different skin in order to see if that's the problem --Cinn
  5. Hi Wally, Sound like you are wearing something that is putting that text above your head. Review what you are wearing by going into your inventory and typing WORN in the text box. That will show you everything you are wearing and you should be able to pickout the object causing the text. --Cinn
  6. Hi JS To own LL mainland you need to have a premium account which means you have a credit card on file. If you do not have the money in your SL account, they will charge your credit card. --Cinn
  7. Creo que tal vez esto es lo que está buscando Perdona mi traductor no puede ser correcta. --Cinn https://www.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Terminal_Locations
  8. Hi Haaron, Found this in an office hours transcript for Andrew Linden http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/User:Andrew_Linden/Office_Hours/2009_08_04 Phantom Ninetails: Oh yeah, Simon, do you know what "Pump IO" is in statistics, often I see that as the only thing lagging an otherwise perfect sim reddot99 Republic: thats not a remotely unreasonable request, Arawn Spitteler: Maybe you could file a support ticket under Region Issues? reddot99 Republic: erm, basic account, Simon Linden: yeah, that's time spent handling network traffic ... dealing with request responses, etc. It doesn't say which specific ones, however --Cinn
  9. OMG!! You mean I have a face?!?!? I've been staring at the back of my head so long, I forgot what it looks like. --Cinn
  10. Answer is nothing happens to inworld inventory of canceled accounts. I asked this question a couple months ago and got some great feedback on it. --Cinn
  11. Perhaps you should validate rather it works with the SL viewer first ? Problem isolation technique #4 --Cinn
  12. Hi Luba, Irene is correct. You cannot give rights to your inventory. What you probably did was give rights to your Objects that are rezzed inworld. This is done from the friends list. (select Friend can edit, delete or take objects) However, it only effects objects that are rezzed inworld AND it does not override the objects permissions. So, for example, if you have a chair that is non-transferable and you rezz it inworld (drag it from your inventory onto the ground), chances are that your partner can now move the chair, but they cannot take it into their inventory because it is non-transferable. There are a couple reasons to allow a friend to edit your inworld objects. One is when sharing a living space, its nice to let the other person move your things around. Also useful for owners of malls and clubs to have employees with the ability to move and edit objects. Hope that helps ---Cinn
  13. Oh dear, sorry, I have the Emerald viewer but don't really like it enough to use. Hopefully someone running that viewer will come around. Or perhaps they have a support forum? --Cinn
  14. Hi Ardentia, Guess I get to ask all the obvious questions. First: Have you waited for your inventory to load? If not you can force load it by clicking on the Recent Items tab or do some other inventory search. Second: Have you checked to make sure you have your filters set properly? --Cinn
  15. Since it is so easy to have 2 accounts in the same household, I'm not sure what advantage there would be to only having one avatar shared by two people. If the concern is being premium for owning land or getting support, just make one account a paid account and the other a basic account. Wouldn't cost you anymore than just having one premium account. And if you set them up at the same time you might have a good chance of sharing the same last name. --Cinn
  16. Hi Heaven, iphone and ipod touch DO have applications for second life http://nwn.blogs.com/nwn/2009/03/iphone-app.html http://www.virtualworldsnews.com/2008/02/video-comverse.html There's a couple. Just not certain which application she is using.
  17. You're very welcome, Vienne. Hope it helped! Have a Merry Christmas!
  18. Hi Vienne, They should use the US$ account balance FIRST before charging your Paypal or credit card. I know that is how it has always worked for me. But then I've never used PayPal for Second Life payments. This is from the LindeX page: "The LindeX™ is a Linden dollar exchange offering residents of Second Life the ability to either buy or sell Linden dollars. Charges are for purchasing Linden dollars and are placed on the same form of payment you have setup in your account settings for your Second Life account. If you have a credit on your US$ account balance that credit will be applied first. Prices at this site are set by the market price - I.E. the best price offered by the different sellers of Linden dollars." --Cinn
  19. Hi Ronaldr, It IS a benefit of being a premium member but it is not your weekly stipend and not everyone gets the grant at the same time. I've received a couple of these in the past. They are always a pleasent surprise But I too, would like to know why they are sent or what triggers the event. Perhaps someone out there will know! --Cinn
  20. Abuse is defined by the action and not by the gender of the player or his/her avatar. So the short answer to your question is none. The longer answer is defined by the TOS. It says if you feel you are being abused you should file an AR. Is there a specific issue you are concerned with? --Cinn

  22. This video covers the topic pretty well. Hope it helps! --Cinn http://vodpod.com/watch/937729-land-joining-subdividing-parcels
  23. Very odd. Usually a landowner doesn't need to do any settings in order to build on their own land. Try this. Go to the About Land/Options tab and set the build permissions for everyone (Create Objects, select All Residents) See if you can build then. Also, I've noticed that the Build button at the bottom doesn't always activate correctly. Try building by using the Tools/Select Tool/Create from the top menu as well. Hope that helps. Let us know how it goes --Cinn
