Teen Second Life has closed. Second Life is generally for adults 18 years and older; however, if you are 13 years of age or older you can use Second Life with some restrictions. If you're: 16-17 years old you can access regions and search results that have a General maturity rating. 13-15 years old, you can access Second Life through an affiliated organization and will be restricted to the private estate of that organization. Only avatars approved by that organization will be able to enter these estates. You can't use Second Life search or purchase items from the Marketplace.

taylr - i really suggest you post your question in the Answers section rather than here because there are a lot more people with good SL knowledge who work in that section and who can give you some more things to check and try. If you have been banned and you didnt do anything, then its obviously a mistake, but that can happen. Go post in Answers and you will get more help. I wish you luck.

You would have been better posting this in Answers. However, this message usually means you have been banned or your IP address is banned. This could be a mistake but normally Linden Labs send an email to you explaining what has happenend and what to do about it. If it is your IP address that is banned, then switch off your router for a while and then restart it so that you get a new IP address and see if that fixes it. Otherwise, you really have to send a ticket to Linden or, if you are a Premium Member, you can use Live Chat.

Even if you stop the group charging to the members, you still need to find out why a charge is being raised. A group doesn't cost anything to manintain unless it has a liability of some sort. Un-checking the group liability tab will result in the owner(s) continuing to pay whatever is causing that charge. Do you by any chance have land belonging to the group which has the include in search tab checked? This would raise a group charge.

Also, whenever a house is finalised it's an excellent idea to make a note of the positions of the house so that if it has problems its possible to re-rez one and just set the positions in the edit tab.

I don't have too much of a clue what this is about but maybe its just that your address (billing address) isn't entered on your SL web account? That is if you are trying to buy L$.

The other thing you can do is open your map, click on a place just outside of the sim or near it, then TP there and walk or fly in to your SIM.

I am still using V1 but also use Firestorm occasionally, just to get familiar with it for when V1 becomes unusable. At the moment I find Firestorm easy to use but the performance is no good (judders and stalls). I have used Viewer 2 as well. The main thing I have found with the different viewers is that I crash less with V1 and crashing is the most annoying thing to me. I fly planes and sail in SL so I run a higher than average risk of crashing, I know. The other thing with Viewer 2 is that if you read the forums, it does seem to have really a lot of bugs and that is down to poor pre-update testing which in 2011 should be a thing of the past.

As Winter is implying, sometimes what you see isn't really what is there, ie your Viewer and its settings can fool you. You could get a friend who uses a different Viewer to look to see if they see the same thing as you do. Oh and clearing your cache might help too.

Some SL names are obviously not real, but Is it obvious that it's your real name? As someone else has already said, most people dont even think about the possibility that a real name is being used.

You may already be doing this, but the best tattoos I've seen have at least 2 layers. An under layer and then a top layer, so you have to wear both to get a sharp appearance.

What Viewer are you using Tybalt ? You can edit your question with that info. Recent changes have been SL Server updates this week.

As the others have said, file an abuse report for a more permanent fix, but, it is really strange that the land ban list isnt working. It is possible to get round security systems but I have never heard of a land ban list not working. I wonder, even if you can see the name on the list, if the system has really actually picked up the person to ban. Did you try unbanning him, closing about land, then opening it and banning him again? Long shot I know but sometimes what you can see is not actually what the system is seeing ! Also, i am really very sorry for you Maxwell and I hope this thing gets sorted.

You say there are a lot of bad things said about Bloodlines before going on to talk about being a vamp. What are the bad things about Bloodlines that seem to be bothering you, or is it just being a vamp that you are concerned about?

From memory, the permission is granted by checking a box in the group abilities settings for the rôle they have given you.

There is a slight delay between logging off and your avatar disappearing in world. There is also the ghost avatar problem. This is usually caused if you crash whilst logged in, but, for this problem to affect you, it is very difficult to log in again as SL thinks you are still logged in. So, if you don't have problems logging in then you don't have the ghost avatar problem and as valerie said, it is not possible for anyone to see you.

Normally there is a message sent to you telling you when your status changes. Click the little envelope at the top of the page to see if you have a message.

Someone with this problem found that installing Quicktime (I think it was Quicktime) on their computer made things work. I have no idea why!
