What's up with the Asset Server this week?
Malate Banufong replied to Imagin Illyar's topic in Second Life Server
Well, just on the asset server, is it that servers are getting worked on during the holidays ? A new one for me - "cannot derez object due to inventory fault" - and yes, lots of canot rez object 'cos of somethig or other. So maybe just holiday maintenace and not down to LL ? -
[uPDATE 7:00 AM PDT 29 October 2013] The RC server channel rolling restarts are now in progress. The scheduled database maintenance is being delayed from tomorrow, Wednesday, October 30, 2013 until further notice. Please keep an eye on this blog for further updates.

Flying Vehicles v/s Parcel is Full?
Malate Banufong replied to Darleen Emerald's topic in Second Life Server
http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Server/Deploy-for-the-week-of-2013-10-21/m-p/2280005#M12341 See Marianne McCann's post Reply to Maestro Linden - view message 22-10-2013 09:01 PM - edited 22-10-2013 09:02 PM I'm hearing of an *increase* rather than a decrease in the "parcel full" bug after this morning's rolls, both from railroad and aviation fans. I'll try to round up more feedback on it. -
Flying Vehicles v/s Parcel is Full?
Malate Banufong replied to Darleen Emerald's topic in Second Life Server
This is a known bug and the parcel full message is given even if there are no full parcels, that is, the message is false. The updates this week contains this, which I believe is the problem you are describing - Fixed "Vehicles which exit a region with a passenger are incorrectly autoreturned and become 'ghost shapes' in the physics engine" (BUG-4024[c]) This was rolled out on the RC sims last week, so let's hope this fixes the issue. -
Grid Status failure: RC rollout not reported
Malate Banufong replied to WolfBaginski Bearsfoot's topic in Second Life Server
...but, as it is only one thing here being talked about, shouldn't it be minutiae ? Oh, or is it several previous minutiae, thus making it minutia ? :matte-motes-big-grin-squint: -
This is a known bug waiting for a fix.

You may find, if you are sure your payment method has been charged, that the transaction just credited your account with US$ and failed to credit you with L$. This can happen, though it is rare. You just need to go in to your account and buy L$ and it will be charged to your US$ balance and not charge again your payment method. Check your SL US$ account balance to see if that is what happened. Otherwise, as already advised, contact the billing enquiries service.

large mesh objects not showing up on sim UNTIL touched
Malate Banufong replied to myvegancookbook Bolissima's question in Creation
Since I downloaded and started using SecondLife Viewer version 3.5.2.276129 this problem stopped and I haven't been having any problems with the viewer. -
Friends in-world but not in the web browser?
Malate Banufong replied to Maia007's question in Everything Else
Yes there seems to be a bug. It started about the time they did the last maintenance on my.secondlife.com which was 16th and 17th May. We will just have to wait until it gets fixed. Meanwhile, if you change your privacy settings so that everyone in SecondLife can see your profile then your friends can see your profile too. -
my.secondlife.com friends are out of sync
Malate Banufong replied to gr81488304435's topic in Second Life Server
Yes, there seems to be problems, probably since the last maintenance. Guess we will have to wait until it gets sorted .http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Everything-Else/Why-do-people-s-profiles-keep-asking-me-to-add-friend-again-even/qaq-p/2017577 -
There are reliable, honest, long standing private estates in Second Life where such things as you have experienced are unheard of. Some examples are Hollywood Real Estate, Sailors Cove, Second Norway and others. Obviously, renting mainland direct from LL is another possibility. I am sorry for what happened to you and wish you all the best in finding somewhere new.

I don't have the problem to the extent you have it, but I added a new friend 2 days ago and he appears in my friends list but not as a friend on my profile friends area. On the 16th and 17th May, SL time, unscheduled mysecondlife.com maintenance was carried out. It seems this problem started after that maintenance. I wonder if it is to do with that ?

As far as I know, all such requests to LL has to be done via a ticket. However, the Blake Sea is part of a joint project with the United Sailing Sims and as such nothing will happen there without their approval. The community liaison is handled by MarkTwain White. There exists already a combat zone/contested waters area, in the Blake and it seems WW2 era ships and planes have been approved to use it by MarkTwain White, but the best thing to do is discuss all of this with him.

Try Painter Designs by Painter Meriman. Biggest choice is at his store rather than on Market Place.

Deploys for the week of 2013-04-01
Malate Banufong replied to Maestro Linden's topic in Second Life Server
Maestro - Thanks to everyone at LL for fixing the sim crossing bug. It is brilliant that we can fly again. I am loving it. -
When I am out in the remote tropical jungle (no joke) I run SL on speeds up to 3mbps and not using a landline connection and it works ok. I don't keep getting disconnected. I know it's not ideal but it is ok. I think you maybe should see what others suggest, but speed isn't an issue for me and your speed is much better.

Deploys for the week of 2013-03-25
Malate Banufong replied to Maestro Linden's topic in Second Life Server
The fix for bug 1814 is showing up again for roll out this week in the RC Magnum details, if you click the link to the Release Notes. Was there a problem with the first roll out? -
Touch wood, I haven't had any issues with using my credit card for SL for nearly 5 years. Presumably Paypal holds your credit card details for you to use, so it isn't any different giving your details to LL for use in SL.

My understanding is that all conversations, open or private, are subject to requiring the person's permission before you may post it elsewhere in SL Disclosure Residents are entitled to a reasonable level of privacy with regard to their Second Life experience. Sharing personal information about your fellow Residents without their consent -- including gender, religion, age, marital status, race, sexual preference, alternate account names, and real-world location beyond what is provided by them in their Resident profile -- is not allowed. Remotely monitoring conversations in Second Life, posting conversation logs, or sharing conversation logs without the participants' consent are all prohibited. From this you will see that there is no difference from IM's or open chat. External websites, as already mentioned, are outside of LL control. However, there are other laws covering what is posted on websites about or from people and so it is always necessary to be sure you obtain full permissions to publish.
