  1. Hi Hippie and everyone! I got some great pics at Hippie's party. Wasn't sure where to post a link, but I thought here would be the best place. I arrived late, so I don't have pics of anyone who might have left before I got there. It was a great time! Pics from Hippie's latest party
  2. I definitely need to stop by your pub sometime, Mags. And Valerie's Mexican cantina!
  3. Things are changing rapidly here in the Forgotten City since Dillon's attack on the Bubble and subsequent flight with the sniper. M has called an emergency meeting with Miss Caxton and me. I always have admired her calm under pressure. She is not easily rattled by unexpected events. Shortly after we gather, an unexpected visitor arrives. M's second in command. Someone I have rarely seen; someone who is even more elusive than M. As day turns into evening and our discussions and strategizing continue, M invites in our top explosives expert; the one responsible for carrying out the orders for the recent bomb. Secrecy demands that her name not be revealed. M is counting on her disarmingly innocent looks to deter suspicion from her pyrotechnics.
  4. EVENT REPORT From: Q To: M Filed: 06 May 2011 <begin classified report> The explosion and its aftermath went more or less as planned. The reporter almost ruined it, though. It's unfortunate what I had to do to her car, but it couldn't be helped. She's an unknown, and we couldn't risk her nosing around the neighborhood until after our explosives techs were long gone. That she had knowledge of the bomb ahead of time is a serious concern and signals a possible leak within our ranks. We must work on discovering her sources. On the TOS front, I can confidently report that we have successfully confused the enemy, and intelligence suggests that the sniper known as Lillie mistakenly believes TOS not only was responsible for the bombing, but also that they intentionally withheld that plan from her. This could work to our advantage. She has recruit potential, if we can keep her angry enough at TOS to cease contact with them. The only real glitch was Agent Levenque's flight from Forgotten City in the aftermath of yesterday's events, before we could debrief her. She is now believed to be on the run with the sniper; whether the sniper went willingly is unclear. Levenque couldn't have known—because she wasn't supposed to know—that the bomb was ordered directly by you in part as a test of her loyalty. I expect you will be pleased to hear that she passed the test with flying colors, showing her true allegiance to be to MISL. But Agent Levenque is still unaware of this, having fled unexpectedly. If she believes she's botched things, she could try to disappear permanently. She won't be so difficult to locate, however. She has in her possession the communications kit that I prepared for her mission. Although she has not yet used it to contact MISL HQ, it contains an independent GPS tracking device—a safeguard to find and rescue her in cases of extreme danger, but as so often happens in the field, not every tool ends up being used for its intended purpose—and we've pinpointed her exact whereabouts. Her last known land coordinates were a location called La Citta' Perduta, but her current coordinates clearly show that she is at sea. Aboard what type of vessel is unknown. I recommend putting agents in La Citta' Perduta to gather intelligence on ships that have left that port and their intended destinations, so that we can intercept her at debarkation at the earliest possible opportunity. Until we accomplish this, there is the risk that she could make a wrong decision based on mistaken understanding of yesterday's events. </end classified report>
  5. It seems the opening salvo in the showdown between MISL and TOS has been fired. But who struck at whom? I have my suspicions, but the walls have grown ears here. I can say no more. No doubt that reporter will be here nosing around soon, asking too many questions about how the fire started and who is inside that building.
  6. TOS is growing cleverer. They have moved their communications to a secured transmission channel and adopted more sophisticated encryption techniques. This has made their messages more difficult to intercept and decipher, but it is only a small speed bump in our intelligence gathering efforts. MISL has expert hacker and cryptanalyst teams who are highly skilled in circumventing security and cracking codes. With their help, I am confident we'll soon resume our flow of information. I'll let them handle that job. Meanwhile, I return my focus to a more immediate task at hand: preparing transportation for Dillon and other MISL operatives, should they need it for their mission.
  7. I had an unsettling encounter with a reporter last night. Fortunately I spotted her on MISL radar long before she made contact with me, giving me time to dust off our cover story should she start asking questions. When she finally ambushed me, I was tinkering calmly and innocently at my decoy workbench. It's a good thing I was prepared, because this nosy reporter did, indeed, ask all the wrong questions. [2011/05/04 19:50] LiveReport Resident: Hi what do you know about the spy network on this sim? She seems to have insider information, quoting directly from TOS intelligence obtained by MISL. [2011/05/04 20:18] Quinn Morani: So what kind of information are you looking for? [2011/05/04 20:19] LiveReport Resident: Names places times. Who is building the bomb? [2011/05/04 20:19] Quinn Morani: There's a BOMB???? [2011/05/04 20:19] Quinn Morani: Where are you getting this information? [2011/05/04 20:21] LiveReport Resident: Dillon: "Quote" My current MISL mission, if it goes well, could provide the means for TOS to deliver a blow that will cripple MISL for years [2011/05/04 20:21] LiveReport Resident: blow=bomb [2011/05/04 20:22] Quinn Morani: That's a tenuous interpretation, at best. [2011/05/04 20:24] LiveReport Resident: It has happen in the past: Lillie: "Quote" Lillie took out the guards so I could plant the explosives. We were long gone when the base blew up. *smiles* Who is this reporter, and who are her sources? My responses seemed to satisfy her line of questioning, at least temporarily. But I can't be sure that she really bought my claims of a toy factory and arcade games. I'm just glad I had time to hide the weaponry associated with the "shooting gallery" before she arrived. Until now the "toy factory" has served well to disguise the truth of our weapons production facility, but there have been too many close calls recently. It may be time to relocate this operation to an undisclosed location. But where? There is so much space in this MISL complex that even I haven't been in every nook and cranny. Yet.

I hated the color. ...Dres Yea...the blue matches my badge so much better :smileyhappy: I'm so vain. I care nothing about the rank, but I love how much better the blue matches my badge, too.
  9. Luc, I've noticed this problem too. Like Deltango, I've taken to clicking the Reply button that is in the actual OP on page 1, even though it is a pain to navigate there from long threads. I understand from reading transcripts of the recent Community Tools User Group meetings that there a plans to add a Reply button to the BOTTOM of each page for easily replying to an OP without having to scroll to the top. Let's hope that whatever changes are made to implement that also fix this problem.
  10. Hi Chibi. There is extreme intrigue and espionage taking place over in this thread which you might find piques your interest: You Only Live Twice Someone with your SL experience and knowledge of the grid could be a very, very valuable ally over there.
  11. It is difficult to escape my sharp eye and my even sharper memory. I have seen this Guido before. He's been under MISL wiretaps and camera surveillance for some months now. He and Lillie are not so stealthy as they think.
  12. This new intelligence is troubling. Dillon a double agent? I can hardly believe it possible that she would betray friends and allies. Or that M could be so easily duped. I'm holding out hope that there is a reasonable explanation, and that Guido is merely sowing distrust amongst our ranks. And yet how to explain Dillon's discovery of our headquarters and the near simultaneous appearances of Charolotte, Lillie, and Kelinda? Not to mention the leaked video of our complex. It doesn't bode well. We must gather information on Guido and his motives. And closely watch Dillon. The plot thickens.
  13. Hugs again, Valerie. What a beautiful cat. We had to make the exact tough decision yesterday too, as you already know. Yesterday was not an easy day for cats or the families who loved them. :smileysad: Here is ours who was with our family for 17 years.
  14. What an incredibly timely topic, Venus. I hadn't dreamed of SL since my early SL days... until just last night. I had a dream related to the You Only Live Twice thread in the Favorite Destinations forum. I can't give specifics because it's possible that some of what I dreamed now may make it into the storyline of that thread. Fun idea for a topic!
  15. Oddly, as I make my way back to the lab after testing the communication kit, I notice in the distance the wreckage of the rowboat destroyed by the strange visitor who I have discovered is known as Lillie Woodells. Perhaps there is evidence here worth salvaging.
  16. I'm growing concerned at the continued silence from MISL field operatives. There are strange goings on afoot, and strange visitors here. We can wait no longer to investigate. Ready or not, I believe it's time to send Dillon out to see what she can discover. I've been preparing a communications kit for her. But before I can hand it off, I must set out to field test it away from the laboratory. A deceptively rickety ladder leads me to my secure testing facility. The communications equipment hidden inside the simple briefcase contains much of what Dillon will need to begin her first mission. Inside it she will find instructions for her assignment, a dossier on her targets, hacked access codes to the FBI Criminal Database, media for recording whatever information she obtains, and a transmission satellite. The equipment testing was a success. The only piece remaining to prepare Dillon for the field is weaponry. She may be covered due to her ninja training, but just in case, I'll be returning to the lab to prepare something for her should she need it.
  17. A second intruder into the Forgotten City in less than a week? Dillon I know, but this interloper, I do not. An innocent bystander, or is it possible that the Other Side have discovered our whereabouts? I have trained our hidden surveillance equipment on this one to learn more. If my hunch is correct, she could be the break we need to infiltrate that group. She must be tailed, but other missions have left the population of trained spies here in the Forgotten City momentarily empty. Can one of our elite be recalled back for this mission? Or can Dillon be trusted to go it alone as her test of allegiance? If only M were here to make that call.
  18. Dillon has managed to slip another note out after my last visit. She appears to be evaluating weaknesses in the security where she is imprisoned. I naturally draw the conclusion that she is weighing a possible escape attempt. Whether this would be a wise action, I cannot say. No one has ever been known to escape alive from MISL. But I know Dillon. If anyone has the quick wits to pull it off, she does. I redouble my efforts to provide the tools Dillon will need to stay alive, either as a spy or on the run from spies.
  19. You can imagine my surprise to see my friend Dillon stumble into my research laboratory; the place where ideas are conceived and modeled before moving on to the development facility for production and testing. I have tried to fight her incarceration, and I have reason to believe the organization sees Dillon's potential as an MISL recruit. She'll require deep training, however. A crash course in stealth techniques as well as in the operation of the custom gadgets my team constructs. And she will be watched closely. A single misstep, a single wrong word, and I won't be able to save her a second time. Because I am someone Dillon knows and trusts, I have been tasked with delivering her the offer of life as a spy. My public objective is to ensure her silence by recruiting her into the fold. My private objective is to help her succeed, and stay alive. She is my friend. I couldn't bear to see circumstances make her my enemy. I am granted access by the steely, robotic guard to the place where Dillon is being held. I take a deep breath, then make my way inside to present the MISL offer of reprieve. Because Dillon is unknown, untested, and untrained, there is a condition to the offer, should she accept. She will be paired with an experienced spy. One who will serve as both mentor and guard. And possible executioner, should Dillon go astray. Until such a partner is identified, Dillon will remain under lock and key. For her own safety, and for ours. I return to the MISL headquarter office to submit my notes of our meeting. I can only now hope that a suitable partner is identified for Dillon soon. Meanwhile, I begin brainstorming the gadgetry that Dillon will need in her new career...
  20. Welcome to the forums, David! There are many great discussions that take place here. I look forward to seeing your take on some of them.
  21. Yes, I have noticed this too! I'm glad it's not just me. I have my preferences set to display threads with newest posts first but am seeing a random order sometimes. I don't know if it's Firefox specific, but I too use Firefox (4.0).

How's this for anguish, sweety? I was shopping for a Porsche! Now it seems I'll be stuck with the Plymouth for another year. I told you once, I told you a hunnerd times: don't take the cast off. Sheesh. You know how hard it is to keep up with the ambulance in a Plymouth? Dillon, Dillon, Dillon. We have far bigger fish to fry now than Lillie. We have an attempted murder charge against Maddy! Pre-meditated, even. [2011/04/26 18:38] Madelaine McMasters: And I bought an ottoman for you to use when you visit. [2011/04/26 18:38] Quinn Morani: To prop my broken leg on? [2011/04/26 18:39] Madelaine McMasters: Umm.... no. [2011/04/26 18:39] Quinn Morani: To sit on? [2011/04/26 18:39] Madelaine McMasters: Yeah, to sit on. That's it. See? She was already up to something before I ever got there. It's not the first time. She's made so many previous attempts on my life, such as trying to TP me to a gruesome death and roast me in her fire pit. This is the perfect case, Dillon. Maddy has already admitted to her fortune. We'll take her for everything! [2011/04/26 18:43] Madelaine McMasters: /me stuffs her fortune in her... wait I don't have a mattress! [2011/04/26 18:44] Quinn Morani: But you do have an SL fortune? This could be interesting. [2011/04/26 18:45] Madelaine McMasters: Yes, I have a fortune in... turnips. I'm confident we can easily convert that agricultural bounty into a financial windfall. I don't care if it's her retirement savings or the college fund for her 23 tentacled offspring. I want justice, I tell you. Justice!
  23. Lia, of course a new home takes priority. I'm so glad to hear that things are taking shape with it. Sounds like you like the area you've landed in, too. That's great news all around. You've definitely been missed around here. I sure hope to see more of you as your time permits!
  24. A thoughtful side, Lillie? Hmmph. A certain Madelaine McMasters tried to kill me again last night and I have photographic proof! First, she invited me over to her place to sit on her new ottoman, but as soon as I got there she tried to topple me off the thing. Then, she turned me upside down and tried to shake me off over Keli (she's trying to off Keli, too!). [2011/04/26 19:37] Madelaine McMasters tries to shake you loose And THEN Maddy admonished me not to fall on her or SHE was going to sue ME! [2011/04/26 19:43] Madelaine McMasters: Don't fall on me or I'll sue, Quinn. Thoughtful, indeed. Hmmph.
  25. It is the miraculous power of prayer. I am HEALED of my pain and suffering. The mental anguish however, lingers...
