  1. It's like I said earlier, and it bears repeating: There is never going to be a time when any one option or even several options will please everyone. We just have to live with what is out there, if we don't want to pay 1000L or more for anything then simply don't do it. If very few are paying that amount then those selling will certainly get the hint.
  2. I have been following this, reading all the comments so far and I really do not think it is possible to get any sort of "plan" for sales that will suit everyone. SL has grown, and changed so much over the 17 years I have been here. And it is at the point now with fashion that there are so so many bodies, coming out seems like a new one every week or so. Impossible for clothing makers to keep up with it all. I guess each one has his or her own way of tackling the issue. And what one comes up with is going to upset some and please others. As far as pricing goes, I expect the "big name" stores and creators can get away with pricing as high as they like because they are so big and have such a large following. The rest of us just do the best we can within our time frames and budget limits, and hope we can come up with a plan that works. I thought selling several body choices plus a colour or texture hud with 6 to 8 changes for 350L was a pretty good deal. I still think so. So guess I will just continue along until some other way seems better. Or maybe I have just been here too long and am set in my ways lol.
  3. Are fat packs really 1000L? I haven't seen any that expensive for years! Everything I make is in a fat pack and I have never charged more than 450 tops, the usual price is around 350. I price them that way so people can afford to get it all at a very fair price. So I am not sure how I would handle switching to doing body specific items.
  4. I had not noticed that yet. As a seller I can't think why anyone would do that as it is actually more work. Especially if you are selling things with a hud. I would have to give it some thought before I would try it. But yes I hear you, I guess that would affect folks with multiple bodies and would prefer sizes all be in one pack. I know a lot of folks who might be dismayed by this practice. Guess the sellers feel it brings in more cash that way. Shrugs I dunno.
  5. I so totally agree with the suggestion of having a button or at least a choice if we want email notifications on Demo 0L items. Those take up over half of my emails daily and it is incredibly annoying. I am happy that folks are getting my demos, but I don't need to see that in my email. But I DO want to see any actual sales so I cannot shut it all down.
  6. I would gladly help you out here except for the fact that I have trouble keeping up myself! I know Belleza put out two new ones Gen X Classic and Gen X Curvy. eBody Reborn has been out for awhile now. But there are some specialty types like Peach, and Loves Moma but I couldn't say how many customers they serve. I am sure someone on here can fill in the rest for you.
  7. oh ok well sorry guess I cannot help afterall.
  8. that is really cute. But I am not sure where you might find clothes however, I have a suggestion. Try finding some BOM outfits. The should shrink to fit her since they are one size fits all as it were. As for mesh that is another story as you have found out. Persona Message me I might have some BOM stuff that I can send you.
  9. also I was told that the complexity thing does not just show your avatars readings but it fluctuates because of changes in your environment ie other avatars coming in or going out. The more avatars in the environment around you then the higher your rate will show. So see it is not just about what you do or do not do, others affect you also. If an avatar comes in loaded with mesh attachments seen or otherwise, that rate will skyrocket. So again I say it is up to all of us to be aware and not do things that will increase lag.
  10. Thank you for that comment. That was the point I was trying to make early on in this thread. That we do have a system using BOM that works very well. I have made some BOM clothing, and thanks to your comment I will work on more.
  11. I am happy for you if you do not experience lag. But I fear you are in the minority there. Yes, lag has improved some over the years but by no means 98%! Most of us do have lag, especially in an area with a lot of avatars. So I don't think many would agree with your statement on lag here. I think it is up to all of us to be aware of what causes lag and do what we can to not contribute to it.
  12. I think this idea would be a whole lot of work. Given that scripting of clothing items would be required, and rather complex scripting at that. Which of course would increase the amount of work put into any one item, which in turn would increase the cost to the buyer. For me the solution to under garments sticking out through pants and shirts is simply to use BOM under wear or just not bother putting anything on under my pants and shirts if it won't be seen anyhow. BOM has made it much easier to deal with the poke through issue. And it is a solution we already have. Sorry but I cannot see mesh creators wanting to do this, much less coordinate with other mesh makers. Wild idea but probably not workable in SL.
  13. Not a chance! first would never put out that much $ for something I can learn myself from free videos, and trial and error.. and Second ain't no way the average seller in SL can make hundreds and thousands in SL! Lindens maybe but not real $. Who they trying to fool? lmao
  14. Well now, this does give pause to wonder doesn't it? I see no reason why LL would continue to use outdated programs, unless it is pure greed cause they do make a bundle on MP alone, never mind all the other costs that we paying users pay them. So yes it sure gives me pause to wonder. I would like an answer to this. Surely they can afford to upgrade!
  15. OMG! I so so agree! It is a trend I really wish would go away! Maybe it is so popular to show it all off and let it all hang out in SL because folks can't do it in RL for one reason or another. I dunno. It just is NOT for me.
  16. oh crap I misread that! Wow 200 USD.. ok in that case, one would have to be totally desperate to pay that much! ouch!
  17. I totally agree! If you are going to charge 200L then you best be up to date with the latest methods etc.
  18. Yes a very good choice! I don't use male bodies except for one that I use to model men's clothing but I rarely make those anymore. My point here is that I think CZ is way more realistic than most male bodies, which a re bulky and way over muscled. From this female point of view, I like a realistic look for men, and get very turned OFF by huge muscle, neanderthal look. So the more clothing for CZ the better
  19. That depends on what you consider unconventional. Laughing here, this is SL probably not too much is unconventional. There is everything from Steam Punk, to Goth, to barely there i.e. let it all hang out which is actually quite popular, and I consider that rather unconventional. Huge market out there, room for just about anything and for the most famous bodies as well.
  20. Currently I am only using Maitreya, mainly because I have had it since it came out and it suits me. I prefer a slim body, I used to also use Belleza Isis at times but clothing for it has fallen off big time as it has become pretty much obsolete, replaced by Gen X. I am considering trying Belleza Gen X new body but haven't actually gone past the demo yet. I do make clothing as well but from templates I purchase from full perm clothing makers. And my customers prefer Maitreya, Belleza Gen X, eBody Reborn, and Legacy and Kupra, so those are the ones I look for. I am capable of making my own clothing using ZBrush, but in order to get it into SL, I have to load my work into Bl;ender to rig and get it into .dae format. Unfortunately, I do not like Blender so it is much easier for me to purchase ready made templates and create my own look with textures etc. in photoshop. I am also disabled and the long process of moving from one program to another to create my own .dae files is just too much for me. If ZBrush ever allows for rigginng and saving in .dae all in one program I would produce my own. I applaud you for wanting to fill a need for making fashion for niche bodies, I am sure many would appreciate it, but in all honesty I am not sure there are enough niche body users out there to generate much income. But if it is not income you are interested in, then your work would be appreciated by some for sure.
  21. Welcome to SL. We can always use more mesh creators for clothing. I can not help with suggesting any niche bodies, as I don't use any. But I wish you luck in your endevour.
  22. I cannot tell for sure but it might come from FAGA, or Mena or No Match or even Truth. I have seen styles similar to this in those stores.
  23. I have some that I made for my own use but have not gotten around to putting them out for sale anywhere yet.. Personal message me I may be able to help.
  24. yup this is cute, only problem is that you will meet a whole lot of ladies all wearing the same thing! I try to avoid that if I can.
  25. I am not sure what I am supposed to be commenting on here. Looks to me like an animation putting shoes on? So what is the question? Personally I don't need animations like this. There is a brand of hair that uses animation to show adjustments in style changes as well. Personally, again I don't need it. Usually when an object wants to animate your avatar, you get a little window asking for permission to animate, but it seems some products have found ways to by pass that. As long as it only happens for a second or two and does not repeat itself I can live with it, but certainly do not need it.
