  1. She does not want BoM because she has only found one skin in SL that has BoM and is made for Genus. And she does not like the skin. So all suggestions about making her own facial tattoos depends upon if Genus has a tattoo layer that cover the head. I know she can make a tattoo and put it in an applier. I don't know Genus enough to say how many applier layers it has. In my opinion, I see Genus skins with BoM every time I look at an event in Seraphimsl. In my opinion, it must be one of the easiest brands to buy skins for. But the Original Poster does not say other than "Asian" and has an avatar with dark brown skin, so I don't really know what she wants. I can't see any details, the face is so tiny. A closeup of the Genus head with the skin applier she likes would help. Maybe @Pussycat Catnapcan suggerst some dark Asian skins?
  2. I like Slink but new sales.... difficult. It is weekend sales where I can have a good deal for an alt. 50 or 60 L for a well made male mesh piece of clothes. But it is Gianni, Legacy and Jake. I can be lucky and find some, but way too often it is those three other bodies.
  3. Ignore my previous post, you did unpack a new one. I was too fast to throw myself over the keyboard. 😁 Of course it is BOM out of the box, what was I thinking. You must find the skin you had before you tried the new skins.
  4. It is a very new and confusing HUD. I am spoilt by Lelutka, I find theirs so intuitive. If the original, out of the box looked great, unpack a new one. That is often faster.
  5. The thing about virtual clothes/furniture/combat weapons, when the textures and mesh are uploaded, it is no more cost. It is not like RL where you must buy fabric and hire a team to sew, to fill up as you sell. Unless you need a store - and you can manage only with demos - you have the money besides the part LL/Tilia takes for using the MP and for cashing out.
  6. The major issue I have with Jake is that Belleza makes it. That creator is so slow with updates, even free bodies from others have fully implemented BoM, and hands that don't get splayed out. When that complaint is out of the way, it looks better than Signature Gianni, that is true. It is also cheaper now. Jake and the 1 L LOGO head is the best you can get now, economical and you can get any clothes on the market. I have not seen how other skins look on the LOGO head, but for 1 L, it is really worth picking up. Logo sell skins for it, and it was cheap (399?) for a pack of all colors from fair and up to dark? I did not buy the skins, went and put on the head first. Some talk about Black Friday sales. Nobody can tell if some stores will sell bodies cheaper. But using the free (TMP) classic and the LOGO head until Black Friday is over, perhaps it is the smart option...
  7. I think some people have an aversion against the included shapes in the head folders. Not saying it is the OP. But they put on the head with their own shape they have used for years, and try to work the sliders from that. For me, it is backwards, it is much easier to tweak the face from the included starter shape and then write down the numbers for the body and change it.
  8. I just picked up the male head, since one of my alts only has the Freya unisex head. What a difference a male head makes. Finally I got rid of the "feminine" head shape. It does not look like the eyes can use BoM. I have never used LOGO Bento - I had some other head years ago. Must see if it is eye appliers to buy or make.
  9. WOW a free male (and female) head at LOGO! The region crashed me when I tried to teleport out my male alt, but he got the head first. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Eventide Far East/184/81/800
  10. It's BoM and Bento but it is so basic that it's only for those who really can't afford better. One of the things is that the eyelashes don't even move and it is no facial expressions. I can second @Chic Aeonin that she get the free heads NOW and play with the shape and skin later. Those are quality heads. People who say the mesh heads don't look like "them" don't want to evolve their look, but it is not up to me what they decide.
  11. It is many flickr posts and also blogs for looks. "All" the stores I visit has browless options. But the demo has maybe 1 brow option. The last skin I took a demo for, this: https://www.seraphimsl.com/2020/09/17/glam-affair/ had only the red eyebrows in all the demo tones. But on the website it list up all the versions, including browless. http://glamaffairupdates.blogspot.com/search?q=sky This can be confusing. The best advice I can give, is read the description on the vendor close. Both Lelutka and Genus have active groups where you can ask for ideas. Pink Fuel comes in no brow version. https://www.flickr.com/photos/mochimilena/48214676847/in/dateposted/ The best eyebrows for me is from Simple Bloom, and they have both blonde and white brows. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/215211
  12. You can barely find other creator's skins for the head from the same designer as Geralt/Gianni. Stay clear of a Signature head, unless you will continue to use the included skin. The Catwa heads has been leading in skin variety, but lately the LeLutka Evolution appear to dethrone them as the "hot" one for new skins. I don't know what head that comes out as winner in the skin war. Rumors say that Genus is working on a male head too. How much you will invest for an alt? I don't know the price of the Signature heads. LeLutka cost 3990 (for now) and Catwa 5000, or is it 5100?
  13. "Wear" replaces the same product. You can use wear if you want 1 tattoo layer only. If you use, let us say, a lipstick and will also use a hairbase, Wear" kicks off the lipstick and replaces it with the hairbase. The white head should mean that you use a body skin that has the head part painted a solid white. The skin creators found out that they save a lot of work by making the body separate from the head, since they only have to make the body once, but makes lots of faces/heads. So either the head is in the folder as a separate tattoo, or it is made before BoM and the creator has not updated it with the correct layers. I picked a demo from the Marketplace. It says: ✿ What is included with your purchase ? : ❤ 1 basic skins to the system body (Body Only) Special appliers HUD for GENUS Head Special appliers HUD for mesh Body/Body Parts ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So... this pack does not include BoM for the face. Maybe the pack is updated in the Mainstore. Some creators do not update their MP store often. Some creators decide the work for updating older skins is not something for them, they focus on their new skins.
  14. Do you read notecards? Does not the updated Genus head come with a notecard that tells you what the updates is? The Genus friends group is very active and helpful. It is hard to help when I don't have a new HUD in front of me.
  15. Pumec has maybe updated for BoM. Try to get a redelivery in the store? In addition to the "skin" symbol Eddie showed you, many creators use the "skin" only for the body and a white head. Then they sell the head as a tattoo, the red sqiggly symbol. You can layer many of these tattoos. I think the limit is 62. So if Pumec has the face on a tattoo layer, you wear base skin, ADD face on tattoo layer, ADD other cosmetics like makeup, hairbase and facial tattoos on top. Never use "wear" if you need more than 1 tattoo layer. The folder from Pumec should show the box symbols for appliers, and if it is updated for Bom it has the skin symbol and maybe a tattoo for the face only. All skin stores has demos. The demos work on all known heads like Genus, Catwa, Lelutka and more. There are some obscure heads and skins that don't have demos, stay clear of those.
  16. Then it is moved to another part of the HUD. Look for Bakes on Mesh.
  17. Yes, something like that. Linden Lab had to enforce rules because of the bots that registered new accounts and spammed. Inworld there is helpful places like Caledon Oxbridge: http://www.caledonoxbridge.org/ And NCI: http://www.nci-sl.info/blog/ If you have reached your limit.
  18. Second Life glossary. 😉 http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Second_Life_Glossary
  19. 1: It is possible as in everything is possible when you pay enough. It will cost you a lot of money. As Lilith already said, the cheapest version will be a doll that can't blink or change. 2: Lots!! You can have lots of looks with this avatar. Go from all kinds of colors and genders. Plus an animal like a cat or horse, or fantasy like elf, dragon etc. Some people have more than one account. They are individual accounts with different names and passwords. They are called alts - Additional accounts. Most people in SL have one or more. It can be for practical use like testing how a security system works, you install it in your house, turn it on and log in your alt and let him/her try to enter. Or it can be personal, like you have had a bitter argument and will be another persona a while. It is as many reasons as it is users, I think.
  20. You will meet the description HUD in so many different products. It is short for Heads up Display and mean an scripted object that attach to your screen instead of an avatar. You can purchase clothes with a HUD that let you change the fabric/color. Jewelry that change the metal and gems. Hair with HUD both for the hair color, the attachment fabric (if the hair has a scarf or bow) and also style HUD if you will wear the hair over left shoulder, right shoulder or back. This is the advanced hairs. Simple unscripted hairs comes in a pack of colors like a blonde pack, where you take off and add so you can switch from peroxide blonde to sand blonde. Same for clothes and other things. Not everything is scripted. And for avatars: For heads, you can change skin, eyebrows, use built in makeup... and this is just the start. Advanced heads have so many controls, I can not list them. And if the head has an expression HUD, you can select moods or static poses. For bodies, the most common change is feet height, from flat via medium to tiptoe. Some bodies have more. And also to make parts of the body invisible. For adult bodyparts, there are change in stages and other things. Ehem. Demo and see. Some terms: Makeup HUD - let you wear other makeup than the default ones with a head. Nail/Manicure HUD - let you change polish on the nails the body has, or comes in addition to nails you buy. Alpha HUD - makes parts of the body invisible. Short description: A scripted object that attach to your screen, you click it to change the item you bought it with. It is found in the same folder.
  21. Nutmeg has a great armchair at the Outlet for half the price. I already have it.. in brown leather! So I will buy this one too.
  22. If you do not delete gacha boxes after you unpacked them, but take them back to your inventory, you get empty boxes that are still named as the gacha price. They contain only the notecard, landmark and unpacker scripts. Many "take" the gacha box instead of "delete" it, because they are afraid when they get the warning, that they are about to delete a no-copy object. When you want to try on the price, it is very easy to select the empty gacha box, drag it to the ground and copy the contents to your inventory. The box will give you a folder with the copy items, but not the gacha item itself. Since it is the first time you have played a gacha, do a double search in your inventory. Things can happen, like the first folder that includes the gacha price can be named wrong. Or the gacha price goes in the objects folder. You successfully got one item, so I am not saying this has happened to you. Stores and creators make mistakes. I second what @Sassy Keninsays, go back to the store, check this is the creator and see how he/she will be contacted, by notecard or IM. The creator will then take out the boxes and inspect them, to see if they contain the prize.
  23. Agree. And, this store has not started with the tacky practice to set weekend sale prices on each separate item. 😣 And Muniick has not started to do this! I hope they never do.
  24. Don't shoot me if I am wrong, but I think this hair store is still free to join (join the group). Group members can grab a lot of free hair and also some makeups. It has been 100 L to join previously. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Sintiklia/123/66/22
  25. The 500 L store credit is still in the Addams booth at Second Life Hallowe’en Shop and Hop event. Find Addams on this list: https://community.secondlife.com/blogs/entry/6012-halloween-shop-hop-now-open/ BUT! Your 1 L free body is not supported by Addams clothing. How can you still use the store credit? Demo first. Jeans are easy. You use the alpha cuts from the hips and down. Maitreya size fits the waist best, but try all the sizes. Shoes, ankle boots are easy too. Take off the feet. The free female body can use Legacy shoes. Long boots will be a problem. So demo before you spend a linden. Sweaters, wear Legacy size. They fit around the shoulders and the "front". You will need to alpha out the back. Wrists can be a problem. And clothes with a bare back and straps over the back will NOT fit. One of the best gifts for new residents is in Mina Hair mainstore. It is a suuuper cute hair with a wide strawhat. I would buy it, but I am too old.
