  1. Because this theme incorporates 512 and 1024 parcels in the same region, the average will be higher than in most previous themes.
  2. We didn't want the walls to feel overly confining where they didn't need to be, but we normally provide the fence kit in the content pack so residents can add their own in the same style if they feel the need or desire.
  3. The houses themselves are still in progress, but the rest of what you see is a copy of an actual complete and finished region. There is always space between parcels. Bellisseria parcels are never adjoining one another. They aren't always obvious, but if you turn on Show Parcel Lines you will see them.
  4. There will be color options... they are just not on display because the houses aren't completed or scripted yet and are all Work In Progress
  5. The "getting more light" has already been attained. Most of the adult activities you can do in a non-commercial adult region you can already do in a moderate region. You simply can't do them in open public view. And my story analogy was completely gender neutral 🙂
  6. That would be a very very very long and mind-numbing post. It might be better to address it with an analogy. So, it'll have to be moved. It'll have to go through the kitchen wall. That'll pretty much require ripping out half the kitchen. If we do that we might as well redo the whole thing at that point. It's an exterior wall too which will require more insulation. Oh, the electrical runs through that wall. That'll have to all be rerouted. The floors don't match so we'll have to redo those too. So... we'll need a electrician... and a kitchen specialist... apply for building permits... maybe even a licensed and bonded contractor. It'll probably take several weeks... and cost about $50,000." "Oh no! Do we really need to do all that?" "To do it the way you want, I'm afraid so." "But it's just one little wall" "One little load bearing wall. That change requires a whole host of other changes, none of which are easy or cheap I'm afraid." "I don't want to spend that much time or money. What can we do?"   7. We never decide against an idea just because it is not easy. We look at how difficult it is compared to its necessity or how much of a benefit it provides. Each is a mitigating factor for or against the other.
  8. Not really, no. It's never as simple as people assume. We just make it look easy. Healthy debate is good. But assumptions that the only reason the Lab doesn't want to do a thing is because they don't like the adult peoples or the non-adult peoples isn't a healthy debate. I've been working hand and glove with the Land team for nearly 3 years now to build this continent, so I know. The old adage is true, you can having something easy, fast or right... but you can only pick two.
  9. Mmm... no, I don't think you do as much as you think you do. Edit: /me reads "a little linden code" and wonders what part of "there are no magic wands or 'easy' buttons" people refuse to want to believe.
  10. This what I mean by resident assume things are much much much simpler than they really are. We can't simply "just clone a bit of belli". It doesn't work like that. Once a region has residents living on it with all of their content, we can't clone it. There are no magic wands or easy buttons that allow for that. When you say "build another continent", it really does mean build a whole other continent.

I didn't quote it at the time, but what prompted me to mention it was when you said "There is ZERO reason why they could not make Linden Home continents of the 3 different ratings for people" I just wanted to underscore that it isn't only not easy or not quick. It's massively complicated... to the point that alone can be reason enough not to proceed with the idea unless there is an overwhelming necessity, rather than something that would be nice to have. Most people often severely underestimate just how much a seemingly simple idea is actually extremely complicated for reasons they aren't immediately aware of. Since I am acutely aware of most those reasons, I thought it was something that needed to be kept in everyone's mind.

Without getting into the debate between those who do or do not enjoy "adult activities", keep in mind the technical aspects of building an Adult rated (or a complete General rated) Linden Homes is quite daunting. It's not as if everything can be cloned in 20 minutes, change a few region estate settings and Bob's your uncle. Adult regions cannot connect to the moderate and general regions of mainland. It would have to be its own separate land mass built for that purpose. On top of all that there is all the changes/testing/rollout to the website and home assignment system required so it can even be an option. All for what realistically amounts to little more than the ability for resident to be able to "do the deed" in plain view of passers by (or in the case of a general rating, removing the allowance of any adult content at all). While saying we could build one (or both) is theoretically true, just realize it's not that simple of a task as many might assume. It's actually a very huge ask.

  14. For the most part, as long as adult activities are done privately and discreetly within the concept of "behind closed doors", there isn't much necessity of an adult region rating. The only reason you would need an adult region is if it was an adult themed club open to the public or an adult content business, both of which are already not allowed in Bellisseria because those would be commercial.

Signs that a region has been released: Other parcels in the same region are owned by residents (all the parcels in a region are released as a group) Signs that a region has not been released: The region name starts with SSP The land is group owned by the LDPW (in released regions the land is owned by Governor Linden and set but not group owned by the LDPW) All the parcels in the region still have their marker tools on them (the squares the mark the parcel borders of each house) If any of those is true, then the region has definitely not been released yet.

  18. It sounds like a nice idea on the face of it... until you factor in two things: Logistics: There is no automated method of changing terrain textures. Terrain textures across a couple hundred regions would have to be changed by hand. And then they would have to be changed back again by hand. It's more than just terrain textures: The green grasses, bushes, trees, and especially flowers would all appear very out of place on a snowy landscape. (And retrofitting them all change the way Fantasy does would be a monumentally difficult if not impossible task and is therefore not a viable option)
  19. SSP numbers are just for identification. They aren't in any way an accurate "tally" of how many regions there are. Any attempt to use them to "guesstimate" how many parcels there are will be weighted so heavily on the guessing part you might as well just pull a number out of thin air. Another erroneous assumption is to lump Mainland and Linden Homes when discussing percentage of land own by a Linden Account. A Linden Homes region with 25 1024sqm parcels fully occupied by residents would still be 60% owned by Governor Linden by land area. That is very different from a mainland region with no protected land space. That's the danger of basing conclusions or speculation based on assumptions. Bellisseria and Mainland are two different products, each with it's own appeal. Bellisseria appeals to those who like the idea of having a small portion of land in a more structured environment with a focus on being part of a large community. Mainland's appeal is a more free form contiguous land mass with fewer limitations and more options but where things can naturally be more chaotic because of that. Add into that mix private estates, which offer the greatest amount of freedom and control but are, more often than not, complete islands unto themselves. Some people like apples. Some people prefer oranges. Others like mangos.
  20. Alternatively you can use the same process, but leave rezzing open and set autoreturn. Anything any guests leave on the parcel will be returned if they don't pick it up, but anything rezzed and set to that group by members of that group will not be affected.
  21. You inadvertently hit on what you are missing in your equations. Bringing up regions is easy. Taking them down can be hard. If it wasn't, they would have. There must be very compelling reasons to add even more that will (as you say) remain unoccupied and doing nothing (except adding more overhead). As much as you may want it, dozens or hundreds of regions just to provide protected coastlines everywhere across mainland simply isn't enough of one. I ask to have them included in Bellisseria where I can with that in mind, creating regions that will support themselves as much as possible to offset the ones that do not and limiting their use to maximize their benefit. Repeatedly stumping for plans that call for dozens or hundreds of them is only going to create a sore spot that makes that part of my job harder. Don't worry. We have a plan. Allow us to complete it. 😉
  22. Keep in mind open water homesteads are not an insignificant overhead cost. The more of those any idea relies upon the less feasible it is. Suggestions that include 20, 30, 40 of those are going to be essentially dismissed out of hand... unless you have a rich uncle who is willing to pay for 40 homesteads in perpetuity.
  23. The reason it wasn't a tier-based plan is because being a completely new event we did not have a basis for gaging interest. We did not know how many residents would actually be interested in participating. If we set the bar too high, no one wants to play because the goal seems unachievable. If we set it too low then the value of the top prizes are greatly diminished... and instead of sending 100 top prizes (individually by hand) we would have to send 1000... or 5000... etc. That could turn something that might take a few hours turn into... well, you can do the math. Nobody is going to be arrested and perp-walked for clicking on a few buckets owned by someone who happened to change parcels. Even if those few clicks get filtered out on the back end like Derrick mentioned it shouldn't have a significant effect on that person's total. The only way it will is if that was pretty much all someone was doing and the only thing that will happen is those duplicates won't count when we look at the final totals to ensure the fairness of the results.
