  1. Is this by any chance the same boring person you're Skyping with? Just trying to connect the dots. . .
  2. Mitchell Indigo wrote: OK then. I know there's like a 15-20 second delay between when I play music/talk and it playing on the stream. However i have noticed for example that when I turn the stream or mic off, it cuts out parts and when I turn it back on, it plays the music/voice sometimes. What causes it? Also, how can I make SAM automatically play the next track? You've not looked at the documentation. This is basic. I would also suggest that you visit clubs for which you might want to DJ. There are different styles of playing and voicing over tracks. The club I've played in prefers that DJs talk over songs at times to interact with the audience. Other clubs don't like that. So, where you target to play is a factor in how you manage your SAM.
  3. You might slip a polite note to the seller suggesting they offer demos. It's not hard to do and I do not understand it when sellers decline to offer demos. Missed opportunities for a sale. Since you have liked the quality in the past, you might slip them a note telling them so and how the recent purchase seemed so unlike what you have bought previously. And then suggest they provide demos
  4. Before asking for help, first help yourself by reading over the documentation. Then, ask specific questions. That is the best way to get the specific answers that will help you. It will also be helpful to rent a stream for a week or so while you setup SAM and practice encoding.

Hey you, over there, sign me up, I can get up to 60 (SIXTY!) group tags now (if I go premium)! How many groups does one really need? 42 seems fine now, but 60 seems to be a bit overkill. I have maybe 12 open slots in my current groupings out of 42. But, I'm sure there will be some who will fill up each and every slot and still complain "why are there ONLY 60 groups?". Can one wear all sixty tags at once? Nope. Can one wear two tags at once? Nope. So, you don't need even 42 groups. Good for you! I've just added my 44th group. I will find it pretty easy to get to 60 at this rate. \0/
  6. All I really wanna do is, baby, be friends with you :matte-motes-bored:
  7. My first question is why didn't you demo the shoes first? If someone does not offer a demo, I don't buy it. So, my view is that the onus is on you for not having tried a demo first. If, however, you tried the demo and it looked fine but the purchased product did not, that is something you can tell the creator in an IM or notecard (whichever way they prefer to be contacted). I told a creator recently that the alpha for their hair demo wasn't right and they sent me the correct alpha for the demo. I did not end up purchasing the product but I was impressed with the customer service.

Please tell me I'm the one who got you started. ;-). haha Maddie, love that answer but Coby >>>>you did morph into a beautiful avi. You wouldnt want to go back, would you? Thing is, in 2007 that look totally rocked. It is only retrospectively when we see the change that we consider the current look the better one. She did the best she could with the tools available in 2007.
  9. You have a Linden home and you want another 3-4 guys there with you? Wow. Assuming you're not all on at the same time it might be a sweet deal for someone. Good luck!

  11. Velk Kerang wrote: How do you politely tell someone they are boring you? lol Serious question. I am a blunt person and trying to work this out without exactly being mean even though I should be given what I been threw with this person. I was asked to come back and play SL and ...<snips alot of stuff >... So all that being said anyone have any sugestions by chance? If you are blunt, why weren't you blunt in your OP? It sounds like you are the background noise to the rest of her life. Try telling her that. Or, just stop Skyping. She sounds like she's got plenty of other calls going on.
  12. MoiselleErin Teardrop wrote: Man, I haven't been inworld in a few years. A friend of mine tried sL for about 20 minutes but of COURSE the first thing that happened was some creepazoid following her around trying to "do teh sects". Anyway so here are a couple what-if's... For the residents who are at the height of their SL addiction (16 or more hours a day in some cases), what if they lost their web connection or the power was off for a few hours? How would they survive? What if max prim allowance didn't exist on any rented land in SL? Like it just wasn't a factor? Would some residents have completely cluttered SL homes like their RL homes probably are? What if there was some sort of block on new residents (maybe 30 days?) from doing adult activity? Would the "do teh sects" creepazoid population still loiter the noob spots in search of some new person all the time? A big one - suppose SL followed the same rule as that "social media" site that is getting tired. Like say your avatar had to look as bad as the RL operator sometimes does with weight problems and all and have the same name. Would SL'ers then try to use SL to pretend their RL is better than what it really is? I know people on social media never do that HAHAHA sorry I cannot say that with a straight face... "Oh yes this 50 room mansion is modeled after my real home!" That explains why you lol'ed at someone else who admitted to an 80K inventory. Puts that one in perspective. If your friend had been advised by you to block and ignore anyone who disturbs her karma perhaps she might have 'tried it' for more than 20 minutes. Or not.
  13. You would probably be able to dump thousands of items that are DEMO (search demo, select and delete) and notecards. Start there. Then anything named 'Object'. Don't bother looking at them. Just delete.
  14. Assuming that you have already posted your question in the Answers > Land forum and not received an answer, your next option is to file a support ticket.
  15. DejaHo wrote: I remember like it was yesterday. . . Help Island, Feb. 27, 2010. My vivid memory makes it seem so real. She had on a red dress with a light green 'Venus Petrov' display name over her head. My heart still races when I think back. I was grey, all grey, but I was able to discern colors and shapes around me and wow did this Venus Petrov have some colors and shapes; but I still remained grey. I was very nervous and confused - hey, it was my first time. Then I read it and felt it, yes, that moment of bliss; her keystrokes all over me, words coming together. I was beginning to feel so excited, I told her so. She was writing me what to do, almost controlling me -- I was in a trance; vulnerable, excited. I looked down and read "come on Ho, you can do it. "Yes Ho, that's it." "It feels so good.... Yes, just a little more Ho, a little more!" I became almost delirious as I was nearing that moment! "I'm ALMOST THERE" I managed to write (the cap lock was not intentional). And then I read "come on Ho, I'm here for you, come on, now do it and do it for me, now, Ho, now" I rezzed. Yes, right there and in that moment I rezzed for my first time. DENOOBIFIED Afterwards we shared some small talk, and I had a cigar. We have been bff ever since . . . What I had, I can't print. :matte-motes-bored:
  16. Once I send it to the trash folder, it's ready to go out. I rarely look at the contents after a decision has been made.
  17. I've DJ'ed in SL for 7 of my 8 years and used SAM exclusively. If you fancy yourself a live mixer, there are other applications you can use that would work much better than SAM. I purchased my license and, each time I've had to change computers or reinstall op systems, I've been able to download another application using the key that was provided to me at time of purchase. It's been a great deal for me over the years. I am unaware of the monthly subscription service they offer. Good luck DJ'ing!
  18. I did not get much help losing my n00b looks but it wasn't something I worried about in my early weeks. One friend I met early on helped me get an AO and another avie directed me to a hair shop to purchase my first hair. That was about it until I started shopping on a regular basis with a couple of friends for hair and clothing.
  19. When you are working with colors on your avatar body, make sure you use a windlight like Nam's Optimal Skin so you see the skin in the best light for checking color and shading.
  20. There really isn't much in the way of details in your profile but that is sort of expected given you are so new to SL. Welcome! Since one of your interests is exploring, visit some places (check out the Destination Guide) and put a few that you like into your Picks. It's very easy to do. There are many nature spaces to see. Good luck!

  22. I did not see your OP as you've edited it out but I can surmise you had a question you should have directed to someone from whom you purchased something. First, look at their profile. It should tell you how best to contact them. Some like notecards, some like instant messages, some have customer contact staff. Do as they ask and you should get a response. In all my 8+ years in SL, I have only been disappointed a couple of times from lack of response from a creator and that is a very, very small percentage.

If I can't read and write the language I would never feel like it was home. That's one of the big reasons why Canada is definitely off my list. Wha? Aint da New Yawk accent alot like da Canadian one? Eh? EH?
