  1. You're right about that, they probably don't know, but I really doubt we're going to see a mad influx amounting to even a sizable chunk of the SL user base. If I'm wrong, I will happily eat my words. Even now, the people complaining about the homes amounts to something like maybe 2%-3% of the premium subscribers? If that?

Does anyone ever stop to think for one freaking minute that maybe by releasing them in smaller batches they now have time work work out the inevitable kinks and bugs before plopping down 63,000 houses with 63,000 people living in them and having 63,000 complaints about 63,000 different bugs? Those of us currently living in them are essentially lab rats so that the rest of you are have a smooth, bug-free transition when all the homes are built. You're welcome.

  4. I've been on the phone all days starting with the A's in my super secret second life subscriber phone tree. We've managed to make it through the V's and 99.9973% of those we've spoken to have said, "Meh, they were overdue for a price increase. Happy to pay it."
  5. That is a tiny percentage of residents overall. The squeaky wheel and all that... The truth is most residents are perfectly fine with the changes.
  6. That is entirely subjective. I feel that I'm getting exceptional value. I could easily see paying $20/month for the enjoyment I get out of SL and my premium membership. The important thing that I hope the Lindens remember is that there is a very vocal minority speaking out here, and on FB, and Twitter, and whatever else, while the vast majority of members have not one single issue with these increases, never visit the forums, or have any sort of SL social media presence.

I absolutely despise that little moron and hate that LL gives him any platform and gives him any credibility. If Ebbe is going to grant him an interview, will he grant me one as well? I also have a blog. 🤷‍♀️

  11. If people think LL is so incompetent, why are they using their products? Asking honestly. I've seen so many sneering comments about the utter inadequacy of the SL experience due to the utterly moronic people working for LL, I have no idea why some of you even have an account. If I have that much distaste and distrust for a company, I sure as hell don't use their products...

  13. Can't they already do that by changing their ratings pretty much? As far as the negative coverage, it's my recollection that that brouhaha was about age-play, something every single person I know finds utterly grotesque and has nothing to do with the adult side of SL. That has to do with the illegal side of SL and I think they are doing everything they can to combat it. That, perhaps, has hampered people's views of SL and I would love for them to address that directly. Sex does not equal age-play. Sex does not equal CP. There are billions and billions and billions of dollars being made in the adult industry. Look at PornHub's value. Is anyone *not* taking them seriously as a company? One of the things I love about SL is that it does have so much to offer to all. No one is forced to visit an adult sim, no one is forced to view my naughty adult-rated profile. I think they should capitalize on that. What a G rated experience? We have that. PG? We have that, too. And, yes, we also have R and XXX rated experiences as well. People are free to explore all parts as they wish. I love that.

I readily admit that I'm only looking at this from the perspective of a US citizen and have no idea what costs go into it for international members. I'm just going to stop reading these threads. The changes are happening, change is inevitable, and just like every single time LL changes anything, people are going to get up in arms and complain about how LL is shooting themselves in the foot, and how this is the end of SL, and they've ruined everything and then in a couple weeks (or less) everyone will forget and move on. Few of the people who ever threaten to leave actually leave. Just like I'm not actually going to stop shopping at the stores. I'd still dig some free healthcare, though. Maybe some poutine as well. 😊
  15. Of course they do. Just like I have the same right to say I don't like seeing businesses that I pay money to behaving in a manner that I don't like. Also, I won't stop shopping anywhere over this. That was a knee-jerk reaction, just like everyone else is having. We are all consumers in SL.
  16. It is a cost of business increase. No one likes those. Do you believe that the cost to run LL hasn't increased?
  17. I'm expecting those costs to be passed on to me as the consumer. I want those costs to be passed on to me as the consumer. I want LL to be a vibrant, healthy company. I want the creators I buy from to actually make money for quality goods and services. I will pay for that. I want to pay creators more money in response to their costs increasing. I may not be looking in the right places, but I'm not seeing anyone anywhere saying that they won't spend money in SL anymore if the cost of a pair of shoes goes up 5%. Raise your prices.
  18. I was looking at the quotes in those FB screenshots... People can be unhappy and maintain a sense of dignity. I'm not seeing a lot of dignity there.

I don't expect anyone to be "oh good" but I expect them to pull up their big girl panties and deal with this in a mature way that doesn't involve cussing out LL and understanding and accepting that costs increase. LL is a real world company with real world costs and real world employees who are also trying to make ends meet. Those real world costs increase just like costs do for every single person or business everywhere. SL isn't some magical land where things that affect the real world don't bleed into it. I understand that everyone is having knee-jerk reactions but I would implore them to take some time to calm down before going on the attack like I've seen so many doing.
