  1. That's a great spot, and I've always liked that region name.
  2. Yep. Just caught this one, that I'm throwing back at 6:16AM SLT. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Gentle Grove/243/214/34
  3. If you don't stop feeling good, they will never be released.
  4. Comparing pending releases to previous ones is somewhat pointless, as there are way too many variables involved, and as has been suggested by multiple sources, the uplift to the cloud has complicated things this time. I don't think there is concern about the stability of the new regions themselves, as they should not be considerably different than the residential regions that are already occupied. I think the delay is due to work being done on issues that impact the grid overall, and dealing with ongoing factors related to the uplift, While these are mostly invisible to the end user, they take time and resources away from projects, such as doing a major multi-region release of a new home theme. Holidays and support staff schedules are also part of the equation, but I personally get the impression that things are not far enough along to where these are the primary concern yet. Suggested release schedules should always be taken with a grain of salt. There are simply too many moving parts to know with any degree of certainty when a release will actually start until they are on the proverbial launch pad, and have completed the "go/no go" stage. None of this should be earthshattering news to anyone, as my words are just a regurgitated paraphrased summary of the things that have been said by others. You can continue to hang on every word or phrase offered by moles and Lindens if you choose, and it certainly doesn't harm anyone if you want to analyze the timing of previous releases. As for me, I'm toying with the idea of nostalgically dressing up an old Tahoe, while setting my expectations that I won't get to decorate a stilt home until sometime next month. I would love to be pleasantly surprised by seeing them released next week, and it is certainly within the realm of possibility, but obviously I'm not overly optimistic about it. As always, hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
  5. Dellyswon region released. All log homes. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Dellyswon/144/141/55
  6. I created a mesh shell inside and out to cover what was there, then used my own textures.
  7. Yes. The porthole itself was purchased, but the walls and texturing are mine.
  8. I often find it easier to just retexture the walls than to find a true match for the included options, but I know not everyone wants to go to that trouble.
  9. Ah, different spot. SLURL to Randelsham Forest bubble rezzer: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Randelsham Forest/91/125/71
  10. Maybe they are trying to discourage people from claiming them so they can clear out those regions.
  11. Just caught this gorgeous River Run traditional. Water on two sides. Feels reasonably private. I'll be dropping it at 8:25 AM SLT. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/River Run/115/108/38
  12. Why do I suddenly have a craving for a pretzel and some funnel cake?
  13. My only home is a Linden home, though I may have anywhere from 1 to 4 at any given time. My partner does the same, as we both enjoy building and decorating, though we spend time together at all of them. I currently have "home" set to my houseboat on Hardtack, across from the Trafalgar lighthouse. I also have a log home on Brichester, on the shores of Big Bird Lake. The houseboat is a keeper. I may or may not move the log home to one of the SE coastal regions once they are released, but who knows if I will still want to do that when it comes time. I'm planning to grab a stilt home for a new building and decorating experience, but until I spend time in one, I don't know if I will keep it. I'm not likely to grab a chalet, but I look forward to future themes, ever hopeful for something with a southwestern US influence, Mediterranean, or Euro-modern. I like to keep one alt account open for GoH, but haven't been doing so much of that lately. That may pick up once the stilts are released and we see an increase in abandons.
  14. Exactly, which is why I claimed one of each theme with my main avatar, and do all my building and decorating with it. The only thing that my alts do is configure the parcel settings and rezz a radio prim. Then they go back into hibernation until I decide to abandon.
  15. It would be nice to have other options. I'm sure there is a good reason why they don't do it that way, but I always thought having a mole store on the MP would be a convenient way to distribute premium content. I find it useful to have all of the content packs, regardless of which theme I am currently occupying, as some are more complete than others, and in many instances, textures for one work well with another. I recently spent a couple of days grabbing homes from each theme in order to make sure I have the latest of each. It's not that big of a deal, but it would be much easier if they were all available from a single location.
  16. While there are often differences in word meaning, spelling, or pronunciation between UK and US English, this is not one of those times. American chalets are most common in mountainous areas that experience an abundance of seasonal snow, and more closely resemble the SL log homes than the newly unveiled theme, which to me screams Tudor. That said, I doubt the name of the homes is going to impact anyone's enjoyment of them.
  17. I still don't understand the doors, but maybe they will replace them before the homes are released. As for using homes in Helen, GA for inspiration, I have a feeling that this wasn't the first time that they have done that.
  18. Knoteven region released. All log homes. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Knoteven/169/112/53
  19. I could have predicted this. I just bought a bunch of stuff there last week.
  20. I don't "think" that you are being very pragmatic at all. The amount of work to replace all of the landscaping on just a single region is far greater than you think it is. Who is going to do all this work? And it can't just be done for one region and then magically implemented on all the others, as most of them have unique layouts. I think doing the occasional temporary seasonal features, such as the beach theme at the Fairgrounds, or the haunted neighborhood at Millbrook is the perfect way to handle it. If you cannot live your SL without regions, do what others have done, and keep a home on a private region where seasons are observed.
  21. Ramsgate (Vics) is another. I think they are slowly but surely naming the remaining SSP regions, so I would expect SSPE1095 (mixed) and SSPE1098 (Vics) to get names soon. I've been watching the log home regions on the coast, and noticed that SSPE1043 is now Wildcat Swamp. I don't know exactly when that happened, as I have been distracted by the pending stilt home release, but it has been within the past couple of weeks. I think Quickdraw and Birchbark are recently named as well, though I could be mistaken about that. Regardless, they are regions to watch for those wanting log homes on Big Bird lake.
  22. Just grabbed this one and re-released it. I almost kept it, but can't keep them all. Anyone who wants a private spot in the hills would love this spot. It has great views, and some of the best Traditional mole landscaping in the front in my subjective opinion.
