  1. What? Why do you need to point out the obvious fact that not everyone wants to live in Bellisseria when your concern was supposedly that, by holding onto a home, you were keeping people from doing that very thing? Anyone who has wanted a new Linden home has been able to get one with a little patience and perseverance, even during the times of scarcest supply. Availability always goes up during a theme release, which is what we are experiencing now. Congratulations on getting a home so effortlessly. If you like it, keep it. If not, you have the option to release it. No one is crying in a corner because they can't find a home in Bellisseria due to you holding onto one that you don't love. If YOU don't want to live in Bellisseria, I don't think anyone will be overly concerned if you opt for one of the many alternatives.
  2. What is your point? I think it is too early to declare that there will be a glut of these, and even if it turns out to be true, I fail to see how it poses a problem. It has always been the plan to have more homes available than there are people to claim them so that anyone wanting a premium home can get one at any time. It has also always been the plan to eventually close the legacy residential regions, but that is not going to happen anytime soon. There are still thousands of people with homes in those regions, and a significant number of them don't even know that Bellisseria exists. It took weeks for all of the log homes to be claimed when they were released, and it wasn't done over the holidays when many people are occupied with other activities. There are going to be a lot of happy people in the next few weeks who log on to discover that there are stilt homes still available to them, with more still to be reelased. Also, while there are currently stilt homes available, two of the three models are completely full. This will obviously change as the remaining stilt home regions are released, but whether supply will exceed demand remains to be seen. The really good news is that anyone wanting any of the other new home themes can grab one. This is a recent phenomenon resulting from the release of the stilts. For people like you who do not care for the new theme, this should be wonderful news. It is also how it should always be. As new themes and regions are built and released, I'm hopeful that this will eventually be the norm.
  3. Palm trees growing in water is definitely wrong. And yes, sandbars do exist in nature, but not as evenly spaced symmetrical shapes. The randomly placed mole-created sandbars are great. Unfortunately, they are in short supply, and the people who aren't lucky enough to get one, are choosing OW and adding their own L. When done well and sparingly, it looks fine. When it becomes ubiquitous and is implemented by throwing the beach texture on a squished sphere, it offends my sensibilities. And one more thing. Sand doesn't float.
  4. If I could "heart" these posts 100 times, I would. Having little sand islands under every other OW home looks completely unnatural and kills the homogenous vibe that defines a stilt home community. Having a more restrictive covenant is helpful, but it is not quite as effective as a heavy handed HOA. While I'm not a fan in RL, I would love one in this instance. Distasteful décor is in the eye of the beholder. Unfortunately, my eye beholds it way too often. Such is life if you want to be in Bellisseria. Time to limber up the de-render finger.
  5. One other thing, make sure you are trying to access the home control pole with the account that claimed the house. You probably are, but thought it worth mentioning, just in case.
  6. Yep. Again, I understand how it works. I just don't understand the decision to split them, considering how it works.
  7. I'm having a hard time understanding the three stilt types. I understand what the different designations mean, and I understand how the code determines which is which. A "Water" home can be fully surrounded by water, or on the edge of a land mass. A "Pier" home can be the same, though is always attached to a pier. A land home is always at least partially over land. If you want a "Land" home that touches water, you could essentially get that with any of the three types. In short, unless you want a house on land, but don't care if it also touches water, then it's pretty much a crapshoot, regardless of which house type you choose. I guess this shouldn't bother me, as all other home themes are completely random, but then why bother splitting them. Maybe "Landlocked," "Waterlocked," "Water's Edge," and "Pier" would have been more intuitive? On the plus side, at least we can now enjoy having stilts.
  8. Houses of all 8 types are currently available, and this will likely be the case for at least the next few days, as the dust settles on the stilt releases and people abandon their other themes. Happy hunting.
  9. Not adding other regions, as more and more will be released over time. Good luck all.
  10. Bubbly and Slice of Life regions released. All house boats.
  11. I'm hoping it's after they release the log home regions along the SE coast.
  12. Whew...had to look at the photo. After seeing this "THE BEST HB IN THE WORLD," I thought somehow you were giving up mine.
  13. The last info we have is here: It doesn't sound like they planned to be up all night working on it.
  14. The moles have done a wonderful job with public spaces all over Bellisseria. I just wish they were a bit more functional animation wise.
  15. Like most of you, I don't have one yet, but based on descriptions and photos, it appears that the stilt homes are essentially houseboats for people who prefer to live in a house. Flat, sandy, beachy, and the feeling of a greater home density due to few natural features that create a sense of privacy. That appeals to a lot of people, but obviously not everyone. As others have said, this is a good thing, as it frees up other types of homes that may be more to your liking. I'm still waiting for a theme that really speaks to me, but can usually find something to like in all of them.
  16. [10:44] Patch Linden: The issues with the first region are not fully resolved, we're releasing another to compare to should someone happen to notice
  17. That's a great spot, and I've always liked that region name.
  18. Yep. Just caught this one, that I'm throwing back at 6:16AM SLT. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Gentle Grove/243/214/34
  19. If you don't stop feeling good, they will never be released.
  20. Comparing pending releases to previous ones is somewhat pointless, as there are way too many variables involved, and as has been suggested by multiple sources, the uplift to the cloud has complicated things this time. I don't think there is concern about the stability of the new regions themselves, as they should not be considerably different than the residential regions that are already occupied. I think the delay is due to work being done on issues that impact the grid overall, and dealing with ongoing factors related to the uplift, While these are mostly invisible to the end user, they take time and resources away from projects, such as doing a major multi-region release of a new home theme. Holidays and support staff schedules are also part of the equation, but I personally get the impression that things are not far enough along to where these are the primary concern yet. Suggested release schedules should always be taken with a grain of salt. There are simply too many moving parts to know with any degree of certainty when a release will actually start until they are on the proverbial launch pad, and have completed the "go/no go" stage. None of this should be earthshattering news to anyone, as my words are just a regurgitated paraphrased summary of the things that have been said by others. You can continue to hang on every word or phrase offered by moles and Lindens if you choose, and it certainly doesn't harm anyone if you want to analyze the timing of previous releases. As for me, I'm toying with the idea of nostalgically dressing up an old Tahoe, while setting my expectations that I won't get to decorate a stilt home until sometime next month. I would love to be pleasantly surprised by seeing them released next week, and it is certainly within the realm of possibility, but obviously I'm not overly optimistic about it. As always, hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
