  1. I love Halloween. Hubby is British and I'm American. We actually have a pretty busy Halloween here in the UK where we are located. Businesses and residences are decorated. Lots of kids show up at the house to trick or treat. Hubby and I dressed up as pumpkins this last year to hand out candy cause why not. It's fun. I do celebrate Halloween more in sl than I do in rl though because it is a spiritual holiday for me. I celebrate it with long time sl friends. I can understand not wanting advertising an entire month for it though. That can get pretty annoying and cause burnout.
  2. I checked it out once and walked away sadly losing brain cells that day I can never get back. On a serious note though, I find the site vile. Making up mindless gossip about others says more about the posters than the people they are trying to tear down.
  3. I'm sorry you're feeling this way. I don't know you, but I've always enjoyed reading your posts. I hope you decide to stay. I really don't know anyone on these forums. I'm shy and awkward and I get the impression most of the time people don't like me. That is an insecurity of mine, but I also realize all of us have our own insecurities. When I first joined the forums, I came with the idea I was going to try and make friends. That never happened, but I still enjoy reading and responding to some topics. I do this for me. No one else. That's why I remain. I'm trying to say in a very awkward way that more people understand how you feel than you may realize. I hope if you enjoy taking part here, that you continue to do so. If you're happy not being here, then I understand too. I really hope you feel better soon Silent. Take care.
  4. Hubby is patiently attempting to teach me about DOF. Very much a work in progress for me. 😕
  5. I do thank you and you're very sweet. Hubby and I have been married in SL since last summer...but we are slowly taking wedding photos for all of our matched alts. We are kind of intense like that at times. He just knows it means a lot to me that they all have their own little story. These two are some of our roleplay characters. I'm sorry for the confusion.
  6. Telling my hubby on a really warm day when we needed to go pick up some things from the shops that we could teleport directly there since I had grabbed a landmark last time we went instead of walking...yea...🙄
  7. One of the things I've learned is to not get too far into any topic. I will share my thoughts. I will perhaps reply to an extent, but I will force myself to stop. Especially if the topic is one that I feel deeply about. I'm perhaps awkward the way in which I bow out of a conversation, but I don't care about that. I guess this goes along with learning to not allow myself to get baited. Not worth my time and energy.
  8. I said what I wished to on this matter. I'm not going into it further. I stick by exactly what I said. It really is best I leave it at that.
  9. Thank you Scylla. It is what it is though and I realize that. A long time community I've been part of in SL even uses a tool during their voice events that puts voice to text. They've used that since at least 2009 when I joined their community.
  10. I do appreciate your feedback, but this really doesn't address the issue that LL needs to come up with tools for deaf/hoh users so they can also experience real time voice meetings and events so we can participate and have a voice.
  11. I really did wish to attend the meeting, but I wouldn't be able to participate or understand it since I'm deaf. The more I thought about this, the more upset I got because the changes to the rules impact all of us. I have had my own concerns and questions I wanted addressed because like many here, I certainly don't wish to unknowingly go against new policy. I certainly wish to make sure I fully understand it. I can only speak for myself. I think that LL needs to come up with tools that help to better assist deaf/hoh users to attend real time events that are in voice. Otherwise, our voices get stifled in the discussion happening in real time. I do appreciate that Inara came out with a video. Hubby is going to help me listen to it. I figure that my discussing my rl deafness is alright since it has to do with with a SL related topic in this instance. If it isn't, I apologize ahead of time. Thank you to all the users who attended this meeting.
