  1. Was it ever! August 2007 My now-husband took this one one of my first days on Help Island Public. Naturally, he caught me with my eyes shut. He also sent it to me no copy/mod/transfer, so I had to screenshot it, adding to the misery. and March 2020, taken by my own danged self
  2. Finally is the "divided" area of the house, the bedroom. The lamps on the wall are another freebie from Apple Fall, from their outlet section. Pay no attention to the oldsters in the frame... I also added a little reading nook, pretty much because I could. I had more fun with this than I really should. It's my current favorite hangout... but then each new place tends to get that status 🙂 My husband, meanwhile, is hoping I find another hobby.
  3. Just past the bathroom is the kitchen area. I'd originally purchased this kitchen planning for it to go in my Linden Traditional home, but the lack of wall cabinets didn't work as well there. Here, with the high windows, it's perfect. The extended corner counter is a fantastic seating area, too, for small spaces where the island or a kitchen table would be too much. Across from the kitchen is a little seating area. I really love the poses on the Apple Fall seating 🙂 Oh, and the wine bottles and wine glasses were freebies! The house was all white except for the wood trim when I got it; tinting happened. I like this dark grey-blue
  4. The entrance to the house is covered, and on the right I have placed the garden seating I've used in almost every house I've furnished lately: Spillsby Outdoor Seating from Dench Designs. And yes, once again my avatar is smoking. I mean, pixelated smoke can't kill you? Turning around to face the door after you walk in, there's an office area to the left, and a bathroom to the right. The house was originally a box with no interior walls, just the wooden room dividers toward the rear. So I walled off the bathroom corner, and even made my first scripted object: a sliding door. I am way, way too tickled about that accomplishment.
  5. I have developed a terrible hobby. Every time my husband buys a new parcel of land, I stick a house on it. This latest one is separated from our contiguous mainland landholdings by one or two parcels; two of its sides are actually region borders (the upper left corner in the first picture). It's kind of in a pit, so rather than gaze out the windows at a grass wall or the club on the right, I picked up some 2-prim tree groupings from PrimPossible and made myself a willow grove. Edited to add: this is another of those L$99 houses I found on Marketplace -- cheap houses for the win!
  6. I may have possibly mastered that one "Building" is not so much what I do. I buy houses, put them up, and buy things to furnish them. I am an exceptionally accomplished consumer. Although for this house I did build a modification to add a bathroom. The door was the tricky part, because historically in SL, I toil neither do I spin But a door was required, and I haven't mastered the whole slicing or path cutting thingie needed for a swinging door, so I tracked down a sliding door script in the wiki, copy/pasted it into a script in my inventory, dropped it in my door prim, and voila! I was insanely proud of that. It's the little things
  7. Resting, after erecting and furnishing yet another house. I need a new hobby...
  8. My dark side is mild compared to most -- just different clothes That said, the object sticking up over my front shoulder in the picture is not a hilt... it's a frying pan handle. Some things are better managed with bludgeon rather than blade.
  9. Climbed to the top of the Fourze lighthouse, which is just one sim over from Rockham where my Traditional is located. There's a rezz zone, so looks like the Don't Panic! may be sailing the Bellisserian seas Put the draw distance out to max. 1.6 FPS. That was fun
  10. This time change is beating the tar out of me. I finally woke up when I normally should without feeling like I was being dragged out of bed, but 4AM is evil no matter which timing convention. And I'm tired. Added to that, this week was the week I had to up my dose of the Trintellix, and that has some fun side effects that are back in full force. It feels like I'm being stabbed through my lower abdomen with an ice pick, which is super fun. Fortunately this is all temporary. I will adapt to the time change, and my body will adapt to the new medication dose, but today is NOT a banner day 🙂
  11. The Eldritch Horror has chilled out considerably since last night. Thank goodness. She was starting to resemble the Bride of Chucky. Also, we changed clothes 😛
  12. This is what happens when you're offworld for four days and your Zooby Baby has no interaction. She turns into the Angry Eldritch Horror. She also stabs through your arm with her cute little ponytails. Sigh. I'm going to be paying for this for weeks. And no, I haven't changed clothes since Friday
  13. My husband grew up in LA too... and says that was too cold and so's Florida 😛 He's considering moving to Belize. I'll miss him 🤣
  14. That would pretty much be us -- folks running around on Facebook posting memes like "I survived Florida Winter, February 21-22, 2020. Never Forget" and stuff of that ilk. We pay for our hubris with the swamp that passes for summer down here.
  15. Yep! although we don't have a snow painting problem, because Florida LOL... but sometimes I just HAVE to get out 🙂
  16. I have clothes of all types from many different stores in SL. Most stores sell a variety of merchandise, or clothing you can layer with a system tank or cami. Neve has some cute stuff currently right out front that's not clubwear, or they did as recently as a few weeks ago.
  17. Amen to that. I had to actually leave my house this weekend. Not that this is a terrible thing by any means, but I prefer for it to be a choice rather than a "I am climbing the walls and MUST GET OUT OF HERE, pandemics be hanged!" kind of moment.
  18. Oh happy day, according to my husband we have internet at home again -- woohoo!!!! This has perked me up immeasurably. It's the little things, sometimes... because the larger ones are often out of our control.
  19. I'm hanging in there. Still no home internet, but I'm cautiously optimistic after talking with Spectrum (yet again) and also engaging with the Twitter "@AskSpectrum" rep. When it was just my entertainment/ leisure activities it was aggravating, but my son mentioned today that the lack of internet is keeping him from doing his online assignments as well as keeping him from being able to do his stuff for Florida Virtual Schools. When I shared that with Spectrum, progress appeared to start to be made. It perhaps didn't hurt that I mentioned I'd looked at Frontier, as that's also available in our area, but I didn't want to change a service I'd had since 2002... Fingers crossed that my life goes back to "normal" for me this evening, and I'm able to buy my stupid KittyCatS! some food, because I just got an alert that they're out 😕 If that's the worst thing that happens to me this week, I'll take it.
  20. I had the same issue, where I wanted my mesh head to resemble my system head, and I will echo the statements of "Demo, demo, demo!" I finally settled on a Genus Classic head, after going through probably more than 10 demos of a variety of available mesh heads.
  21. My brother-in-law and niece both have that kind of nose tip, but you are correct that it is not that common. I don't loathe it; I personally happen to dislike that I really can't reshape it past that 😕
