  1. I played with it some more. This is what I found when using a script to change the stream Using Linden Viewer -- I had to press play again in the viewer. No option to autoplay music stream in the viewer. Using Firestorm -- Autoplay on & Enable Media Filter off (Media Tab). It would automatically change. Seems no way to just have it work with scripting. Is all based on manual settings in the viewer.
  2. Has this happened? You Open the Inventory and teh Lag or even worse accidentally dragging a folder into the wrong place So Try .....Making Fast Access Grouping in the Appearance Window Consider this. You have a collection of items that work together for multiple outfits, and in the inventory the items are spread across several folders. Most likely the folders are used to assign a name to a no mod item, so you know that it is the one that is Red, or has been sized to fit a specific shape, etc. Try this.... 1) wear just the core body, system shape, skin, eyes, hairbase 2) wear the assorted items. Like 38 different hairs, or HUD, combat meter, and all the guns. 3) save the outfit -- using numbers 10.00 - 19.00 to float this to the top of appearance window. Like 11.04 Hair Curly Red, 13.00 Combat System --- Until you get used to this you might wanna include <add> in the name of the outfit. Like 11.02 <add> Hair Short Blond, so you don't go and try to wear the whole outfit 4) open inventory and go to the appropriate subfolder in the outfits / my outfits folder 5) delete the links to the core body parts 6) open appearance window and change into a 'Real Outfit'. One containing the core body parts 7) Expand the entry in the appearance window to the 'Fake Outfit' 8) Add the items individually via right click Now you have a tab in the appearance window that allows faster access / no opening the whole inventory / no accidentally dragging a folder into the wrong place -- for a set of items. Is very useful if it is a thingie that gets updated and normally would have to save to a lotta outfits. So especially for you Guys out there ... No need for having to save .. that special avatar accessory... to all the outfits. 18.00 <add> Aeros
  3. YAY! Inventory! Okay ... Um... Ya'll get to see some of how I am... Um.... maybe... A Little OCD. When I have trapped a new user and started their denoobyfication, part of how I phrase it is this. System folders are Inboxes for the types of assets in SL. I also explain that some are other special folders: Current Outfit, Outfits, etc. The why I define the inbox ones as inboxes, I can follow up with ... Clean your inboxes! Sort the stuff! If the inbox gets too full, it can explode! Some of my OCD inventory sorting stuff I do use the system folders for some of the more frequently used things. examples: some dances I can play anywhere in Animations, hairbases in a folder in Body Parts (Still might need to swap a hairbase to force a rebake, even if there are other things to click now), but I keep them lightly populated, a few hundred things, mostly. Except for Clothes.... in Clothes (since no one much hands out loose system layer clothes anymore) .. all the things in a set of folders that roughly correspond to the a combination of the Asset types & Functional groupings. With relevant folders subdivided between things safe for General Rated land and Adult land. This seems to help jar my memory when searching and I cant remember the exact name of a thing. and really! it only sounds complicated. These Meta-Group Folders that are prefaced with a double number system AA.BB. This allows for using AA like a category or sub-category, and BB for a number in the category or sub-category. Can skip numbers just like typing line numbers in an old basic program. So can avoid renumbering the whole mess. Example being 10.02, 10.05, 20.00, 21.10, 30.01, 40.00, etc Because... Depending on your most common use case. Using Numbers to Order the folders can massage the inventory search. Things that are more common for you to use are at the very top, or the very bottom. Since can just use the scroll bar to slam to the bottom of the list. Example of this is things like hand held accessories that are not saved to an outfit are in 20's so it is near the top. Clothes and mesh bodies and system bodies and complete avatars (like the cool giant spider) are in the 40's and 50's, the middle, since you can save the outfit and access it via the appearance window. Then all the Building supplies and stuff are in a higher number, so can jump to the bottom. Also DEMOS and Boxes to sort, subdivided by event or flexible time periods based on the volume of stuff is at the bottom too. So maybe that made sense. But it is having a big set of existing folders to start sorting things into. then as you go along, refine and expand the subfolders. Also I number saved outfits like that too -- It works like the Category number would be a folder for Types of Outfits. Examples being 50.01 beachwear something, 52.01 cocktail dress something. You dont have to resave the saved outfits to do this renaming. You can open the Outfits/My Outfits folder and just prefix the entries there with numbers. Might have to relog a few times to kick the appearance window named outfits to catch up. But works. However I do keep the Category Numbers AA = 10 to 19 clear, because I have another trick... Making Fast Access Groupings
  4. In the viewer itself, do you have it set to auto-play the stream?
  5. Mole Appreciation day in Bay City every year. Is around Groundhog day (Feb 1st), I think. Groundhogs .. Moles.
  6. Yup. Even .. Erk.. made a parcel music stream selector thingie so can change stations easy. Ima nota 'Puter person so I am still working thru the steps of my recovery program after figuring out how to script that thing.
  7. one of those random ideas. A referral Bonus in L$, for Premium members. If someone 'splains the benefits of Premium Awesomeness to someone. Then the someone signs up for Premium. Maybe the someone can give a shout out and you slip the refferer some L$ .
  8. Looking at it Like Rent/Lease v/s Buying and Paying Property tax However one wants to describe it.. okay. Just going by when I was a noob at deciphering the getting land in SL stuff.. I translated it to this in my head. Tier is the Monthly fee to rent Server Space on the Mainland type Land product from Linden Lab, using a Credit card. Where Server space is expressed in units of square meters. and... Premium Membership comes bundled with (Currently) 1024m2 of Tier Buying Land is Buying a 'Lease Option', using L$. In order to Rent said Server Space using Tier with .... Renting Land is Subleasing (subrenting) Server Space from an Intermediary between the end user and LL, using L$ & the payment period can vary on case by case basis, and can be an option on mainland or island estate types of land product I just define it like this for clarity in the case of someone that is totally new or has actually never been in SL, I figure if they might have heard of renting server space. It also allows me to see Buying land & land flipping, etc. in a slightly more abstract way kinda analogous to commodities trading. While not negating the validity of expressing Land use in SL as an analogy of Buying and Paying Property tax, that may cause confusion with someone that is less familiar with SL. Given that in a Real Life context one can petition to have Property tax lowered if the neighbors have messed up the neighborhood. But hey... analogies As long as people pay LL.. we get SL
  9. YAY! Un-Confused! Just a Recap - maybe clarifying my earlier wall 'o' text for others There is NO buying mainland without Premium. -- you can rent mainland from other users, but you paying them and paying in L$ and not using tier The difference between being Premium and using Tier for Mainland Ownership (or Linden Home) v/s Islands this is more a case of : Mainland Tier & Premium - directly getting land from LL, uses Real World Money already paid as part of Premium Membership Island Estates - Subleasing / renting Land from a intermediary Land Owner, they have systems in place to pay using L$. It can even be a whole island but you are paying someone who is paying LL so the pricing is up to them *** One can lease each month a private estate, a whole island or more direct from LL https://secondlife.com/land/privatepricing.php?lang=en-US - But that's a lotta Money and a Whole different type of Land Product Prims per Parcel from https://secondlife.com/land/pricing.php the middle 2 columns on the table & based on standard subdividing of a region (double prim / prim bonus land can differ) to confirm the amount of LI: when on a parcel, (top menu) World/ Parcel Details / Objects - Parcel land capacity Covenants and Restrictions: when on a parcel, (top menu) World/ Parcel Details / Covenant Mainland - follow region rating Linden home, etc. - there are some more rules and stuff
  10. Well for me a 512m2 for a Linden Home, new or not is good. Since it still gives one a reason to try mainland living too. Besides now i can finally kick my alt out and she can live elsewhere. Always leaving a mess that one. Prims all over, keeps switching scripts to not running. *sighs*
  11. I had to translate it from Linden-ese to Kat-a-nese for it to make sense to me. so I'ma writing this all out for everyone not just Soda, and I love your Videos btw. Mainland land - to get Mainland you have to be Premium - included in your Premium Package is first 1024m2 of Mainland Tier Tier is the Monthly fee to rent mainland from Linden lab. - Is based on the Maximum amount of land held in a Month, even if just for a moment. and expressed in Meters Square - Further bumps in Tier are listed on this website https://secondlife.com/land/pricing.php - Remember the first 1024m2 is already included in Premium -- so no worries if paying quarterly or yearly the land DOES NOT have to be a contiguous piece of land, so you can Mix and match: use 512m2 on a Linden home and the other 512m2 on another place, or 1024m2 on one parcel, or buy two 512m2 parcels, or stuff But ... you have to Buy land and/or get a Linden home to use the Tier Selecting Land / Buying Land Buying Land is Buying a 'Lease Option' to Rent land using Tier 1) Buying Normal ol' Mainland - you get to pick your spot - use search or mainmap to spot land that is for sale or plots of land are auctioned off by LL https://usd.auctions.secondlife.com/lin/auction/auction/list/ - pay for for the 'Lease Option' using L$, buy clicking the Buy Land thingie in the Viewer - Pay attention to the rules of the Region Rating: Moderate, General, or Fun.. um... adult 2) Getting a Linden Home https://secondlife.com/land/lindenhomes/ - you can't pick the spot, but you can pick the type of house - you dont have to pay a L$ fee on the Lease Option, you only pay the 512m2 Tier (already in the Premium Plan) - if you have 512m2 unused tier - try it! it is FREE! (call it practice on using the about land controls) I am not sure it is mainland? (Topmenu) World / Region Details/ Estate Tab Estate: mainland Which Mainland do I want? I dunno... you buying the land / paying the lease option What is Protected Access? - Land is adjacant to Linden Used Land so others not be building on it - Costs more to Buy What is Double Prim / Prim Bonus land? - a region allows 22,500 LI (building blocks to be used) - when the land was first parceled up by the Lindens, the allocation of LI per parcel was shuffled around - use less prims for part of the region - this part was kept as water or roads or a park or something - the For Sale Parcels were allocated more LI, Like double the amount. - Costs a lot to buy Hopes that Helps. Do we get a Video of the Buying land Adventure?
  12. RE: Lucas The Spider Fake News! They are using YouTube to spread their Propaganda! Lure you to the web with a song. Just don't fall for their tricks!
  13. Fifty Shades of Basic: The Story of GOSUB Now it makes sense!
  14. YAY! Yup. I wind up sticking more buttons and sliders and clickers and stuff in the Quick preferences thingie. So I can actually remember what to mash to get stuff outta the way for (not viewer snapshot) pictures or videos. Then I wind up getting sidetracked and forgetting to take the video, but .... I could.
  15. the debug - FSHudTextFadeDistance I added that to the Firestorm Quick Preferences Menu as a slider type control. The distance slider thing allowing me to be able to see near stuffs (HUD or a vehicle I am using) but can kill with joy the hovertext in the distance. That and I kinda don't totally remember, but I don't think i found an actual Hovertext on and off button. Just click the wrench icon in the lower right of the FS quick preferences menu to get it into the mode to add a debug.
  16. Kinda summarizing the answers from earlier: In the Linden Home control panel located in world, There is 3 catagories of controls. 'Accessory Controls' - not applicable in this answer - but thats to turn on the lights, lock the doors, etc 'Complete Texture Sets' - that lets you choose with one click - texture (paint) combos for the home elements. The walls, doors, floor, etc. 'Home Detail Textures' - that lets you pick texture (paint) for individual element catagories. Walls, then doors, then floors, etc Your confusion is this: in the 'Complete Texture Sets' section, Pictures of each Theme of house (the boxy, the fantasy, the cabins, etc) are shown in the User interface. But Note that each house type has a different Texture Set in the photo. So to change the model of house: That is done Via the Webpage for Linden Home land selection. Inside of SLMAKE SURE TO PICK UP ANY NO COPY ITEMS Open about land Abandon land From Dashboard (user account webpage)Log in to Linden Home Selection Webpage Select a Theme Select a House Type Cross fingers for luck that the neighbors will not have a lotta particle poofers Click the Next, and next and next and get assigned a new house
