Oh no, I'm not saying that at all. I agree 100%, you can tell who doesn't go on instagram or tik tok when they say people don't have bodies like that in real life. When you post one they go "Nuh uh!" It's just always strange to me that the "ItZ NoT PrOpOrTiOnAl" argument comes up with bodies like these, they were never meant to be. In a world where we're all cartoon characters...who says you have to look proportional or realistic? They're fantasy bodies...people have those fantasies.

I think this right here is key. I've been noticing even people that are wearing kupra are getting smaller and more or less regular size. How scalable the mesh is, is going to make the biggest difference. It's not going to be so much about how big the butt and boobs are, but how scalable the body is. It'll still have big breasts and a big butt, however....that's where it seems SL is trending at the moment.

I dunno, guys are still wearing Aesthetic..... I'd love to see a Dad-bod body though.

I think we shouldn't go down the rabbit hole of realism or proportionality with this body. It's clearly not, I don't think that's what the creator or the people that would buy it are going for. Kupra showed there is a market for this type of body, a big one. Whether there is room for two bodies like this remains to be seen, but I fully expect to see them in the wild. Judging from their discord, it's going to see some success. The proportional crowd is going to be mad mad. Be ready to see big jiggling butts and boobs at UBER in the next couple of months.

I wouldn’t say the older bodies are abandoned, they’re still being sold at a discount. Strangely enough, I see a lot more stuff for Freya and Isis at top tier events now than I did a couple of months ago. It shows how viable the older bodies were, just…abandoned…by creators. So strangely enough, the new bodies renewed interest in the old bodies. I’m guessing creators that abandoned Belleza are trying to show they can create stuff for it by using the old kits they already had to get a new kit. I’m thinking it’s having a weird effect on the clothing we’re seeing. It’s split between the old bodies and the new bodies. Kupra and eBody didn’t have that problem because there was nothing before Kupra and not that many people wore the older eBody. Belleza’s former success could actually be hurting it. Its a weird effect, it’s making how successful Gen X is going to be hard to predict. I think it’ll work itself out in a couple months as more kits get handed out. The bright side is people that have the older bodies get to enjoy some new stuff at events for a while.

I think it’s around 20. It’s mostly trolls, incels and creeps and believe me, they deserved it. I’m pretty tolerant and have a good sense of humour. If I asked someone to stop and they keep IM’ing me…that’s usually how it starts.

I don’t mind, I did it and I got a name I wanted. It was worth it, to me. I most likely wouldn’t change it again. I think they rotate them when it reaches a certain threshold. There was an initial rush the first couple rotations. I see a lot of Voxels, Bananas, Kiyoris, etc. The newer names? Not really. So maybe they haven’t reached the threshold to rotate?

To me that’s what makes fall and winter so fun. You can get really creative with your outfits. Mixing and matching pretty much guarantees your not going to run into someone wearing the same thing as you.

I usually dress according to how I feel. Which is usually jeans t-shirt/blouse or a track suit or something comfy. But autumn is my favorite season for clothing, so many cute options! I do like to keep it seasonal and in the theme of the place I’m at, but only if I know where I’m going: bikini for the beach, etc. I’d say I’m 40% seasonal?

Yeah, Freya kind of had that problem too, but it was back in the day and it was overlookable. But now with all the third party support for specular, I tend to use those anyway. I want to say it’s by This is wrong. I haven’t played with it yet. Yeah, you would think somebody would do a bikini at this point as many beaches there are in SL. Plenty of quickly done bra and panties though. That’s exactly what I mean about when a body comes out though. It’s little things you want that just aren’t available yet to make you feel comfortable enough to wear the body, so you just kind of wait lol and they just missed bikini season and put the body out during spooky season. So we get a tonne of costumes you’ll forget you had in a month and no beachwear!

I saw the YouTube video yesterday. It looks like he did everything right as far as features. I don’t know if it can unseat Kupra in the curvy body market, but it definitely looks like he was taking notes. We might have hit body fatigue in the curvy market at this point.

I’m not going to put too much stock in the statistics just yet. That’s because, if a lot of people are like me, they bought the body and are waiting for some things to happen: the first being some fixes. That normal/specular thing you pointed out is a biggie for me. Someone came out with an alternative at Kinky, that would solve that, but third party support for little things like that is big. The second thing is, a lot of clothing creators slap some stuff together and sell it. Some of it is poorly rigged junk that just isn’t worth it. Also shoes, I don’t know why but shoe creators are the last to jump on a body. So without shoe support, I’m not wearing a body. I waited on shoe support to switch over to ebody. That actually took a while to happen, so I held off on wearing it for quite some time.

Unfortunately it’s on the creators now. I actually like classic better than curvy. I’m sure most creators know how rabid Maitreya users are and how they won’t switch no matter what. At the same time, most Belleza wearers will suffer in silence. So they’re probably not aware of how many people want stuff for classic. What has to happen is people that want classic have to hound creators like Legacy wearers did when it came out. Classic is such a good body.

Personally, I like the fact that creators are focused on representing different body types even if it’s through addons. I know I gained some serious weight during the pandemic 😅

A couple of places have come out with overlays: deetalez, alt3, just to name a couple.

I’m not sure if it’s going to come out for other bodies because eBody makes it. Unless other creators follow suit, which is possible. I’m wearing a skin by Mudskin and it looks decent. It does look more like a belly dancer. The Velour skin is an addon that gives it the appearance of rolls and creases. It’s just extra detail, you can wear it without.

Yeah, what’s really surprising is how much support it’s getting right off the bat. It’s basically a muffin top with a little pudgy belly. I think it’s going to be an add-on that’s going to be around for a while. Creators are doing updates for things already.

Your best bet is to look at the data. Lucia Nightfire posts regular data of the most popular bodies on the grid. Right now, I think it’s: Maitreya, Legacy and Kupra. However, Ebody reborn is quickly moving up on the third spot. A couple of things to consider: 1) The days of the big three are over and things are very much in flux. Creators are more willing to create for different bodies and some are even dropping Maitreya. Which is something that was unthinkable two years ago. So I would say choose the three you want to create for. 2) This forum isn’t the best place to ask, because it’s track record for predicting which body is going to be popular isn’t that great. A couple years ago, Kupra came out and this board slammed it. It’s now a popular body. Last year, Ebody Reborn came out, also got slammed and still does and it’s quickly gaining ground. All kind of mods are coming out for it. It’s kind of crazy how much support it’s getting. Belleza came out with two new bodies, three weeks ago. Three weeks ago….waaay too early to predict how successful it’s going to be. A lot of “wishin and hopin “ here. Your best bet is to use the data. You’re still safe with Maitreya and Legacy, but that third spot is going to come down to choice. The grid could look very different in a year. I think, from what you’re describing, Belleza classic might be right for you for a third. There is another body that came out the same time as Belleza that may be worth it in the end. I just can’t remember the name of it because, I need coffee. Welcome back and good luck!

It’s doable, there are a few people that are Flickr famous that have that look. I’ve seen a couple of them in the wild. It’s going to come down to shaping your facial features and chin more angular. After that it’s going to come down to a good pale skin and addons. Since it’s Halloween, the addons should be relatively easy to find.

I wouldn't say it improved my life but it made a very dark time in my life bearable. Picture this; New Jersey 2009 A French Canadian girl in a foreign country, taking care of a dying father, working a crappy job. Homegirl needed an escape from reality and SL fit the bill. It mostly helped me just find an escape for a few hours a day, but it really helped me polish my English skills both spoken and written too. I learned to understand expressions and slang much better.

It was the emachine SL did that to. It's back was broken for good though. I ran with the Dell until about 2017 or so. Even a low end graphics card made a big difference.

That may be the only thing a salesman tried to warn me about before I bought. But hey, I was broke and it was like $299. Except SL did this to it. Yeah, a Dell with a GT 240 was an upgrade from an emachine. Then I got with my husband, then boyfriend and he built me a PC that could handle more than one thing and I could actually SEE SL lol

I know, I'm just laughing because I had an emachine back when I started SL and had a hard time running SL back then.

I’m not sure an emachine would’ve made it to 2022
