  3. Crazy, I rarely take the time to even consider leaving reviews (like never), simply because LL makes it so difficult to get back to where you need to go to write one when it's still fresh on your mind. But, when you get something and go through the trouble of finding where to write your review, then can't... that really sucks. I suggest you file a Jira. ...Dres
  4. I have very strong reservations about the time-sensitive, automatic deletion of content which some of you seem to be suggesting. I'm all for sensible regulation, but I'd rather see it be attempted with a scalpel before a machete. Are there products long past their viability still available on MP right now?... sure; I've no problem with LL mitigating their damages where those products are concerned. But, there are far too many products on MP which are and will remain viable into the foreseeable future. For instance, the shelf life of any well made texture is virtually infinite. For example, I've got one thing and one thing only for sale on MP... a freebie alignment texture which I created for people who are colorblind, such as I. I see no reason why, upon my departure or demise (whichever comes first), this tool which people seem to find useful enough to buy regularly, should not continue to be available... just because I was no longer around. If someone would care to give me a good reason why such products should be automatically kicked to the curb, I might be convincible. ...Dres

  9. I know very little about LSL and absolutely nothing about C#... but, from a layman's point of view, I've no idea why anyone would think that using a proprietary language such as LSL would actually be more inclusive of the world of script writers at large, than would using a much better known language such as C#. Is it really that much more difficult turning a light on and off in C# than it currently is in LSL for someone that knows nothing about either? ...Dres

  11. Pamela Galli wrote: Well I can tell you one thing that no one, but no one at LL, has the faintest, foggiest clue about. And that is customer service. And they've no intention of learning about it... especially for Sansar. Where, as Ebbe has already stated, users will basically be considered customers of those who create the "experiences". Which leads one to believe that, from LL's perspective, only these so-called "experience providers" will be considered direct customers of LL. Therefore, it is they (the "experience providers") who will be responsible for providing service to their customers, bypassing the need for LL to provide any service to anyone other than them. Pretty nifty workaround, don't ya think? ...Dres

MaurizioFurverti wrote: I mean, I get the impression from the forums, whenever people mention their desire for freebies/ free experiences, the conservatives / libertarians pour down on them and start complaining. Where from do you get this? A person needn't be conservative or libertarian in order to take exception to some people's over-inflated sense of entitlement. And not all liberals want everything handed to them for free. I'm very left-leaning when it comes to fiscal matters and extremely liberal socially. I believe that every SL user adds something beneficial to the platform, whether they spend any money here or not (some more than others). But I also believe that those of us who actually put money into SL are the ones who keep it afloat for those who choose not to. So it sort of chaps my hide when those who refuse to contribute anything more than their presence to the platform, come here whining about something which they got for free because of someone else's hard work and/or monetary contributions... making it likely that I (liberal as I am) will have something to say about it. You can't just paint people into boxes based upon some sort of generalized notion of which side of the political spectrum they land. ...Dres

A safe non trheatening .....wow you must have been at sim on a stick from Open Sim, ór never left your own parcel while it's locked for others. Look at the forums how many people are hurt, diapointed griefed, stalked.... and so on and so on.... SL is as real life... but magnified, more intense and close to your real feeling. It can't be safe or non threatening. ( and it's no gaming environment... go play candy crush if you want to be safe) Are you kidding me? How dare you even suggest that what some people might be subjected to in SL is in any way comparative to what some people go through in RL... much less "magnified, more intense". Yeah, people can certainly get their feelings hurt in SL, but can they be beat up, kidnapped, raped, murdered...? Sure people can inflict emotional and even monetary harm to people through SL but it simply doesn't compare to that which they could physically do in RL. As far as I'm concerned, insinuating that what happens in SL is worse that what occurs in RL, is about as ignorant as ignorant can be. ...Dres
  15. Are you effing kidding me? LL has always placed their value on "what if". They exist upon that which is possible and yet fail to deliver those possibilities. I see no reason to expect any more from them than they've provided us and anyone else for years now. The only way people will really be curious about Sansar is if it's as great as LL is making it out to be. I honestly hope it will be, but I know how LL relies on hype. And, since LL is so closeted about what they're creating, I've no reason to believe that it will live up to whatever hype they're trying to put behind it. To even suggest that the negative commentary about Sansar is the product of fear is insulting to those of us who love SL and don't want it being harmed by the ignorant attitudes of LL's BoD. We are not peasants... we are users who keep SL and LL afloat. Eff them if they can't take us seriously. It's to their own detriment that they think so lowly of their actual user base. ...Dres
  16. The way I see it is... if Project Sansar tanks, it will take both Linden Lab and Second Life down with it. Alternatively, if it succeeds, it will eventually, entirely replace Second Life. Either way, Second Life will eventually become dust. My optimistic side hopes that LL will do the right thing with Sansar and everything will be alright (though, probably not great). My pessimistic side tells me that all hope is lost and we're all doomed. In reality, I'm in between... hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. I grow weary of people speculating about things to come, because they've no idea what LL has accomplished with the new virtual world. And so much of that speculation tends to be rather negative. Don't get me wrong... I understand people's skepticism... I'm skeptical too. But, I want Project Sansar to succeed... simply because so very much rides upon it being successful. Therefore, I chose to remain optimistic... because the alternative of doing so means that I must lose all hope entirely. That is something which I simply refuse to do. ...Dres

  18. ah270a wrote: What I Have Learned About Life Throughout my lifetime I've always asked myself. Why am I here? What is this place? As humans we are able to connect with one another in many different ways. We have the ability to be compassionate, empathetic, and loving to those around us. Yes there is a dark side to that, but we will stick to the positive. To show these traits to the people around us fills them and ourselves with this glowing and great energy, what does that feed? Some believe it feeds the soul or maybe even the ego. Again, there will never be a way to prove this. So, what does it mean to be human? What does it mean to live? And, why are we here? What it means to be human is to love unconditionally. Not just your family and friends but to everyone around you. As David Icke said "Infinite love is the only truth. Everything else is an illusion." This is so true, just think about it. There is nothing in the world more soothing then to feel love. If it is someone loving you, or you loving something or someone it is an energy. A feeling that cannot be replaced. No one is perfect and people make mistakes, those mistakes can leave resentments that lead to hate. If you are able to see people in that way you will be able to love them unconditionally. Even if you have been wronged you cannot allow your mind to be imprisoned by anything else but love. If you allow yourself to hold those resentments and hate you are only hurting your own happiness and well being. Living means being alive and interacting with the world. Your heart beats, you breathe, and your blood flows, yet there is so much more. What does it really mean to be alive? Happiness. You must be happy in order to live, following the above paragraph how could you possibly be happy if you did not love another and yourself unconditionally? It would be nearly impossible. Being alive on this plane of existence is not always easy, in fact, most people experience more pain then anything. But what keeps them going? The positive thoughts. The memories of good times and how it felt to be loved. And above all, how it felt to be happy. The biggest question I believe many people have is, why are we here? This could be answered in many different ways but the main reason is we are here just for an experience. It is hard to fathom the hard times we have been through and try to understand why and how we lived threw them, but we did. Think about how life works. You make mistakes and you learn from them. You make decisions and you have repercussions from them. Why else would their be a place with so much duality unless it meant something? Living with this type of mentality can be very helpful, especially when you are living through a hard time. Just remember life is just an experience and everything happening is only temporary, life is temporary. Enjoy the experience of life. Yes, there are many hard things to overcome but you can! George Orwell stated, "During times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act". I quote this because in this day and age the deception and deceit around us is so intense and is everywhere. Our own governments omit truths and intentionally keep us out of their affairs, even though it affects us. Day after day and year after year this world becomes more corrupt. One day we will no longer exist here on the earth, could be a number reasons why, but the reasons do not matter. What matters is being honest with yourself and the people around you is revolutionary. Not only because it’s the right thing to do but it also allows people to still have hope for good and decency in the world. As a species if we could all understand and embrace this way of thinking we could change the world. Even if I am the only one who thinks this way I am changing my family dynamic and myself. Just remember who you are, why you are here, and what it means to be us. Do not let the horrors of life define you. You are love, infinitely, and with knowing that your trials and hardships will seem much smaller. Now that you know this is a temporary experience the larger picture shows today as nothing more then a grain of sand. "The weeds keep multiplying in our garden, which is our mind ruled by fear. Rip them out and call them by name" - Sylvia Browne. I learned that sometime things actually are TL;DR. ...Dres
  19. Freya Mokusei wrote: Honestly not sure why you're getting such a tough time here - well, other than putting stuff in the wrong forum. I've known several people need to make corrections, for fairly innocent reasons. Not everyone fills forms on the Internet in honestly, some advice actually recommends against it for personal safety. Service operators expectations in this regard are irrelevant, the end point is that you're intending to become more reputable, and LL are likely to appreciate this. You can update the Date of Birth and Secret Question associated with your account by Submitting a Support Ticket. Linden operatives will get in touch, perhaps asking for scanned copies (or posted copies) of Real Life identification such as a passport, birth certificate. By 'name' I assume you are referring to the Real Life name associated with your account (in which case, support ticket can accomplish this too), but in the unlikely event that you're talking about your Second Life name, this is not changed at the request of the user. Hope this helps! You're right. Many times I've heard of people supplying LL with correct personal information, once they realized how important it was that LL know who they really are... but only when their accounts were still active and in good standing. I think sams' problem is that, if they used a fake name, they'll never be able to prove they are the person that once held that account... because they won't be able to supply the correct type of credentials associated with that name. But they could certainly try and the only way to do that would be to file a Support Ticket as you've suggested. ...Dres
  20. So, my sister requested that I find some internet radio stations which we could add to the radio which I placed in her house. Now, I usually do my best to put off the things my sister requests of me for as long as possible... but, in this instance, I was more than happy to follow her directive immediately. Theresa Tennyson wrote: If you watch the Tonight Show, some of the time you'll be watching advertisements, which are open to all (who have the money), and the rest of the time you'll be watching something that the producers think will make people watch the Tonight Show. Some of those things are people who are promoting projects they're working on, which will have a similar effect to advertising for those projects, but they're there because the producers think you'll tune in to watch them do it instead of watching something else or reading a book. In order to even be considered to be on you need to have some sort of unquantifiable value, and if you don't have it/your agent can't convince them that you do have it, you'll not get on the show because there are plenty of others who do and this is something that money can't buy (even though some have tried.) This analogy is way off... a nightly talkshow can in no way be considered comparative to the administrators of an online marketplace. I fail to see why you take it upon yourself to question why some merchants believe that LL's actions in this specific instance were unfair. If what LL has done negatively affects people's feelings about the platform, it does you, nor anyone else, any good to try to convince them that their feelings are invalid. It matters not whether they're valid or invalid.... they're still going to feel them. I'm not saying that your general assertions are wrong... they very well may be. But, if you want to argue against people's valid concerns, I suggest that you first acknowledge those concerns, then offer an alternative. Otherwise, you just seem like a fool who has nothing to offer but bad analogies. ...Dres
