  1. Last I heard, LL was shooting for the open beta to be released sometime in the last half of this year. I don't think LL even knows when that'll actually happen. ...Dres
  2. Thanks Whirly... that makes sense. As of today I still see only myself in the group. But, I noticed that the update you posted was for the main channel... would it make a difference if I'm not on a main channel sim? (My home sim is on Magnum.) Should I try going to a main channel sim? Actually, more importantly, should I even worry about going through the trouble of finding one or just waiting or perhaps having to contact support over this? Since I have the group hidden from search and have it set so that no one can join, would it really be a huge issue if I just left the group in order to just be done with it? ...Dres
  3. Sounds like a good idea to me. Thanks. ...Dres
  4. So, I've a bizarre issue: Just recently, I decided to disband and rid myself of three groups which I'd created. So, I kicked everyone out of those three groups. The first two groups were disbanded within two days as was expected, but the third continues to linger on in my group list for weeks now with only me as a member. So, what should I do... file a support ticket or just remove myself from that "ghost" group and forget about it? ...Dres
  5. is good too. Aislin Ceawlin wrote: Since Pamela isn't going to toot her own horn, I'll do it for her! :matte-motes-wink: My home and a large portion of my interior pieces come from her store, La Galleria. Her stuff is GORGEOUS! Whats Next also has some really nice pieces. There are so many out there. I'll try to shoot you a list when I get inworld, but I highly recommend La Galleria. Of course, your personal taste really does make a difference. ETA...just realized you said "INFERIOR" not "INTERIOR" ....derp. :matte-motes-tongue: How dare you single Pam out for committing the crime of being exceptional and producing simply gorgeous things? What gives you the right to toot her horn? ...Dres *hopes you know I'm kidding* P.S. Trompe L'oeil is good too.
  6. Sassy Romano wrote: Nothing as drama fueled as that Dres, the question was asked, I responded. Will I succeed? I don't know but no, i'm not looking for anything at all, just a passing answer in a thread that's all I could have said "to get fitter" but I already have a gym membership though according to studies, it's not effective without actually going and putting in effort. Sorry, it's not the same at all... but whatever. I do hope that you have a great year... no matter what you decide to do. ...Dres
  7. Sassy Romano wrote: Mine is to leave SL this year and quit posting in the forums Okay... this post confuses the hell out of me. I mean, if you really want to leave SL and stop posting here, why can't you just do that? What's the point in announcing your objective in such a manner? Unless, of course, you're simply hoping that people will flood you with desperate requests that you remain... therefore fortifying the need for your presence... at least, in your own mind. But that's what confuses me... I'm more than certain that you don't require such outside fortification in order to prop up your own sense of self worth. I just never pictured you the type. ...Dres

I can discuss bomb making and terrorism but just fell foul of discussing the most heinous of acts:- You just can't make this stuff up. Thanks for the laugh LL. That was probably put in place to combat those spam posts we used to get all the time, telling us to watch this TV show or that TV show... they were pretty incessant. ...Dres

  10. Darrius Gothly wrote: Something that stood out to my eyes immediately was the very mature face of the model. While the body appears to be very child-like, the face (and makeup) appear to be that of a mature (age of consent) woman. IMO I just want to point out that the mesh body for which that outfit was created is billed specifically as a "mesh body for kids" (link), therefore it matters not how mature you believe the face looks... that outfit is simply, revoltingly risque for a child avatar. Of course, that doesn't make the outfit, in and of itself, a violation of the ToS... though one could clearly argue that LL has the power to remove such questionably inappropriate content, should they care to do so. But, there may be a viable reason why they wouldn't. Primarily, the ability to track those who do purchase it, in order to see if it's subsequently used to actually violate the ToS and perhaps the law, depending on where those individuals live. ...Dres
  11. Allow me to add one bit of suggestion to what Alwin said: Even if you are, never tell anyone in SL that you're bored... it's a huge turn-off. ...Dres

I think you're entirely correct, Lillie... no one is as good at telling sorries to people as is she. In fact, I believe Maddy is so good she can usually convince most anyone that she's just apologizing, when, in essence, she's actually directing them to "f**k right the hell off". She's my hero. :matte-motes-wink: ...Dres *loves him some Maddy*
  13. I kinda hate asking this, because I'm rather averse to requiring someone take the time to try to explain how animations work to someone who knows practically nothing about creating them, but I have an idea. Lets say your trying to create an animation that works for a wide range of avatars using translation, but don't want people to be angry when it doesn't work for theirs. Would it be possible to create a demo which would animate the translations correctly for the area which it's meant to effect, but would distort a different area of the avatar, thereby making unusable? Though there will always be some people who don't try the demo and are pissed, I'd think that such a thing would alleviate the problem for most. ...Dres

  15. CheriColette wrote: Surely that is meaning if his friend charged him for the exchange? Other wise we all guilty of transferring L$ in SL. Though it's highly unlikely that such a transaction would garner the sort of attention which LL would find actionable, it's still a violation of the ToS. And, as such, suggesting it here is a violation of the Community Guidelines... since it could be seen as encouraging another to violate a LL policy. ...Dres
  16. CheriColette wrote: Okay...thanks Dres. My partner and I have everything set to group, so thats why I asked. We not had problems that way. Something to look out for. Setting something to group isn't the same as deeding it. When deeding an object to a group, you're essentially transferring ownership of that object to that group. When setting an object to a group, you're still the owner of that object. Basically, having an object set to a land group, simply ensures that it will not be auto-returned. CheriColette wrote: One day I did find a jetski within our boundary and I got notice, like you said, when I clicked to return it to owner. So I didnt go through with it and looked her up and messaged her to come get it. I would've just returned it. Most vehicles are copyable, which is often the reason they get left places like that. Having them returned is probably a common occurrence for people that leave them where they shouldn't. Regardless, if it wasn't copyable and, consequently, doesn't get returned to its owner's inventory upon being returned, that's their bad... after all, they are the one who decided to just leave it there in the first place, forcing you to have to deal with it. ...Dres
  17. CheriColette wrote: What is the problem with items going back to owner? Is it just inconvience (and having to rez them again) or something more? When you return things that are deeded to a group, a warning pops up that tells you something about no copy items being lost instead of going back to their original owner (deeding something to a group essentially makes the group the owner). Now, I've never had an issue with no copy items which I've deeded not being returned to my inventory, so I've no idea under which circumstances this might occur... but I suppose it does or else there wouldn't be that warning. ...Dres
  18. Have you tried creating a profile for both SL and Steam, then switching back and forth between the two as needed? Other than that, I don't know what to tell you. ...Dres
  19. LinnaeaBorealis wrote: Does anybody know if *deeded* to group items somehow are treated differently and CAN be returned by group members even IF they do not have this ON in their allowed abilities? They most certainly can and the same goes for objects shared with the group. Which is why you should never share or deed objects to a group unless you absolutely have to in order for that object to function... such as a radio (which needs to be deeded to group-owned land in order to access the parcel music settings). This is expected behavior and not a bug, as some have suggested. ...Dres

I do expect a lot of people to have genuine respect and common sense when it comes to interacting with others, but there are some who just loves to find fault in what you do. just responding to this line... IF you break TOS people have the fullest right to report you, your opnion that you can break TOS as you please, even when you think common sence is leading, isn't relevant. If you don't agree you have to decline TOS and leave sl. I believe what the OP was trying to say was not that they can break the ToS, but that they've been threatened with being reported for it when they've done nothing wrong.... which isn't actually uncommon at all in SL. Of course, that doesn't make you irrelevant as a person.... it just makes your reply irrelevant to that which the OP had actually written. ...Dres (Plus, spell check is your friend.)

  22. If your shape is modifiable, you should be able to edit just your body to look more the way you want it to. If not, you'll need to either get another shape which is modifiable, then try to edit it's face to look like your old shape or, if you want to be adventurous, create a new shape yourself, then edit it from the default to look like something decent. Do be aware that the later is very time consuming and surprisingly difficult for even the most seasoned of users. The poses issue is different though... the only real fix for that is use better animations. ...Dres

  24. I fail to see the problem with pulling up demos while searching for things... certainly there should be an option to include or exclude them from search. But, if I'm shopping for something, I want that something to have a demo... I honestly don't care if I see the actual product first or the demo for it first. In other words, seeing demos included in search doesn't actually bother me in the least... but, that may just be me. ...Dres
